A structured deal based on salary, performance and potential appearances/non appearances is a different proposition, but if they're demanding 50k up front i'd hope the club tell them to get f**ked.

That's quite a callous way to talk about your club side when they've gone out of their way to support him and even jettisoned a club legend to accommodate him.
Really not impressed with his attitude. He's lucky his understudy in the national team is a donkey like Mignolet.

that won the double. You seem to struggle finishing your sentence, thought I'd help. Lets see if I can help you further with that line of logic.....
Then he wanted to change it up after obvious problems were displayed over half a season (and still picked up the title) and got backed by the board providing players not even fit for the bench. To be fair, the board did try with a couple of bids for quality players after the season had already started....lets just ignore that even a fish monger knew they would fail.
Real shame that he wasnt given the chance to do it again in January or the summer.
Funny how some people use the stupid arguement in the quote above. I say stupid because it is. Yes, he built the squad...it then won the double... he then wanted to refresh the squad, it didnt happen, oh now its his fault for building the squad in the first place. Boy, we'd be much better off if Mourinho had just kept the same side that finished 6th then a distant 3rd the two seasons prior to his arrival.
The problem wasnt building this squad...IT WON THE f**kING DOUBLE
The problem was (oh, still is) that it became clear to the manager (and everyone who cared to look) that the squad needed something more in order to remain #1 in England and hopefully go further in Europe....oh wait, thats not the problem, thats identifying the problem.....The problem is the board did not a f**king single viable thing to address it or support the manager.

I love how it was Jose who almost got us relegated ....well you know, never in the actual relegation zone and well before christmas.
But lets actually imagine we almost got relegated....how was it the manager and not the players who almost got us relegated?
As many of the "Jose out camp" have admitted, they stopped playing for him....and the club...and the fans.... and to even collect a pay cheque with the barest semblance of dignity
So if it was all just down to the payers not playing for the manager, in what mollycoddle world is it all the managers fault that the players are intentionally not giving it their all? Try that at your job, let me know if they fire you or the manager.
Who knows, maybe our amazing board has given players a clause in their contracts that state "In the event of not being happy with your manager, please feel free to collect your whole pay while putting in a fraction of the effort expected". I suspect if the players were contractors and football was like every other industry, many of them would of been done for breach of contract in terms of failure to perform. But this in Football in the modern world where apparently players can do no wrong and can hold the hopes and emotions of the fans hostage while collecting massive pay.....all because they dont fancy the manager (how many here actually like their own manager?)
Oh, and good thing we caved and gave the players what they wanted. Not only do they have the better track record, but clearly they are desperate to be here and do well....Oh wait.
My stance has never been Mourinho is faultless.
My stance is that either the manager or some of the players needed switching and in the interests of the club, it was better for certain players to go for a myriad of reasons.
Amongst them the obviousness that some of those players wont be here long regardless.
That the manager is a far better bet for success.
That, believe it or not, its probably going to be harder to replace Mourinho than Hazard (a problem inherent with going through managers at a rate of 13 in 12 years, many of them top level).
That the squad needed mixing up anyways.
That selling players can raise funds (important in Romans new era of posterity) while sacking Mourinho was going to cost millions and send a clear message of the lack of support managers can expect at Stamford Bridge.
Oh, and chiefly, that the club is never going to be well served in the long run by players fickle enough to do what they did pre-Christmas (or some are still doing) when they are willing to sell out the manager who only guided them to their only BPL title ever (save a very few), the club who paid them handsomely and the fans who sang their names when everyone else in the country despised them.
Quite frankly, Ive not seen a single thing that has changed my mind.....

Another one that gets thrown around is this theory that Jose got rid of De Bruyne, Lukaku, Schurrle, Luiz, Cech and Juan Mata.
The facts are during the 2014-15 title winning season these players where not good enough for the first team. However rather than improve themselves at the club and under Jose’s tutelage they choose to leave for lesser and or developing sides in Europe where they would be given first team opportunity’s.
These players chose to leave and fair play to them they have been successful but if they had stayed for another season jose would have had the option to use these players and rotate the current squad a lot more rather than the team end up in a floundering position.
The only option he had was youth team players and we were in crisis and the pressure would have likely affected them.
He was not given money in the summer and only brought in small purchases like Falcao, a Reading player and an unknown French league player and a last minute panic buy from the club for Pedro.
When the club started making bids for players it was too late in the window and the bids for these players never came off which is neither surprising or the ambitions of a championship winning club.
He had the misfortune of experienced leaders like Cole, Lampard and Terry coming to an end of their careers and it is debateable that these players could may have been given new short term contracts by the club to lessen the negative effects of a transistion. They did not get new deals and no one of similar quality has come in to replace them.
He had to bring Didier Drogba in on the cheap to give the team some experience which any of those 3 mentioned above could have done. They would have all still have had the fitness to contribute on the field too.
Where did the money go from all these player sales, commercial deals and trophy prizes? Is Roman strapped nowadays too then?
Jose will continue to be one of the game’s elite managers that I am sure of.

Sorry but I think most of us who support Jose recognize that he had equal blame to shoulder. The key term is equal. The anti-Jose camp hold him responsible for everything - organizing post season tours in Australia, serving fried chicken and chips to Costa and Hazard, killing a baby, etc.It is like everything that he did for us has been forgotten while supporting players who cried like babies at the first sign of failure. We were the perennial underachievers before he came in 2004. He won us our first trophy in 50 years and made us a force in world football. That team was menacing. Even the Barca with a peak Ronaldinho feared us.
After Carlo's first year, we never looked like coming close to win the PL. Jose put us back on the map, literally. We became contenders with Torres leading our line. He got what he wanted last year and took us to the league trophy. Instead of backing him to take the next step and stand with the Madrids, Barcas of the world, our board sat on their collective a**es. Jose is a high intensity coach who always wants to win and this lethargy did not go well with him. Add the players coming to training sessions with hot dogs in their mouth and he completely lost it. Now, could have reacted better? Definitely. His blaming everything under the sun got old quickly. The doctor episode was embarrassing to say the least. But that is who he is. And he was pushed into a corner by the board and the players lost confidence in themselves and him. Collective clusterf*** but I hold the board (looking at you, high school girls coach) more responsible than anyone else.
In the end, you could see how much each loss hurt him. Couldn't say the same about the players.

Drogba is one of the greatest players of all time at this club, but let's not rewrite history. The 2008 Final wasn't his first red card, it wasn't even his first Champions League red - he got one in 2005 in the knockout stages away to Barcelona and that kept him out of the second leg.

This is the same guy who was called a 'disgrace' by Chelsea supporters and even booed in his first couple of seasons for diving. Yet we stuck with him and it paid off for everyone.

I love/d didier but his red card in CL final in 2008 was far worse than anything Costa has ever done..can argue it cost us biggest trophy in club football as he would have taken final spot kick, not JT...but we forgave him and how he repaid us...if Costa had bitten Barry on Saturday, I'd be rather uncomfortable about him being a chelsea player, but thankfully he thought better of it at the last second...his greatest crime was to react to getting kicked all night by Everton players with no protection from the ref...can understand why he lost his cool...I think there are many other chelsea players whose future at the club deserve to be debated before Costa, who has been our best player for last three months.

I am totally against selling him. So what if he has aggression in his game, it isn't really that bad, it's handbags stuff. The game against Everton was a one off in recent times. With the treatment he was getting in that game i think it's pretty sad that so many are against him.

With the luck we have had with strikers, i can't believe that people want us to get rid of him. It's hard enough signing a world class striker when you are at the top, think how much harder it would be trying to get one without any European football.

First of all, f* Berry and the referees. Costa has been judged by reputation since his arrival, now defenders could do whatever they like to him without any fear of being carded. Of course he lost it, but he took plenty without complains and without referee's interference. We must keep him, he's the only few players that cared. Considering we aren't likely to sign top class players next season, we need to keep hold of the players that want to play for us. Most of our players just talk these days, and not showing up on the game time, Costa is different. He fought, he lost, so be it, at least he didn't leave anything behind. He's going to get us 20 goals a season if he has a good preseason. The next 9 games are just preseason friendly, who cares if Costa sit out 3 games?

I can see why the aggression might be a bit much for some and I'd love him to calm down a bit but in terms of representing the shirt and doing it justice, he's doing that more than anyone at the moment. He's leading that team and it was clear to see in the Paris game. He did that shirt proud and he's been doing that since the turn of the year when plenty of others really don't look like they could give a damn.

True, but then again Hiddink has mainly only played teams in the bottom half of the table and has only beaten one top table side....Arsenal.It is top 4 form technically, but with 7 draws in 13 games..... and again, mainly against bottom table teams...............I saw thats more an indictment of the quality of the top teams in the BPL right now rather than accurate assessment of how much better CFC has been since mid-December.
edit: and if you want to include the cup games as did, certainly not top 4 form anymore or we'd still be in one.

The mess this club is in currently is not Mourinho's fault, he made mistakes yes, but the disgraceful summer we had is exactly why we're in this situation.
Mourinho told the board that the squad needed refreshment and they just didn't deliver. To let Petr Cech go to Arsenal and follow it up by signing a couple of average players is just farcical, coupled with the fact that the club conned the fans with the Marquinhos bid, they had absolutely no intention of signing him, they just wanted to make it look like they tried.
Even if you win the league at a canter like we did in 2014/15, you have to refresh the squad. The same 20 or so players can't trot out and win the league again, other teams will have strengthened considerably and the pressure to retain the title is very real. There needs to be new blood in the squad to make sure the same drive and motivation for places is alive to ensure the best possible title challenge. Despite Ivanovic's woeful performances from August to December, he knew that he would be in the starting line-up no matter what because there was absolutely no competition for places, our best right-back was playing left back because the manager didn't trust our new £20 million signing, Ivanovic was untouchable.
Look at City in 2012/13. They haven't had the same fall that we have because they actually started relatively well, but it's the same story. Mancini knew the squad needed new faces but the board only signed squad fillers like Rodwell and Sinclair.
The best example is Bayern Munich. Every year they know they will walk the Bundesliga, but every single year they bring in a marquee signing to keep the competition for places (spending big on Vidal), as well as bleeding in some younger players (Kingsley Coman).
Jose Mourinho made some mistakes this season but he was the victim of the awful way this club is being run

But he wasn't making mistakes, which is something Courtois has been doing consistently for us since he returned from injury. Even before his injury at the start of the season he was making mistakes, he was sent off against Swansea for charging off his line.

Also raised 233 million in player sales in that time frame too and that doesnt factor in key players being released on free's like Drogba, Lampard, Cole......  so out of pocket about 50million but if you count the wages off the books on those free's, we are probably looking at a close to break even picture in a time frame where a title was collected starting with a team who never came near it.

Oh, 20million of this seasons 70million outlay has been on players who will likely never be in our first 11 for even a single full 90 minutes (Hector/Miazaga/Pantic/Dijeredo/Nathan) and another 18 million on a RB that neither manager this season rates as being first team quality.....so it might be for the senior team, but did it really make a difference to the senior team?

Just figured you might like some context for those numbers.

Fact remains that it was clear that this squad needed an overhaul before it lifted the title last season and not a single improvement was made to the squad in the off season.

Of course Mourinho made mistakes but lets not forget that the turn around has not been due to a change of tactics or even a change of personnel, just the same players in the same positions magically playing better ,,,,almost like they just decided to try harder or something....

and considering Mourinho was given no players who could challenge the regulars in the first team, just what major changes were people expecting Mourinho to make between September and November?

We've seen most of the kids, sure they have been better than some of the sh*t out senior players put out, but its pretty clear to us now what Mourinho knew then, they weren't going to save the season.  The only people who were going to do that were the ones Mourinho foolishly stood behind.... you know, the ones who turned the season around by  playing much better football under Hiddink than under Mourinho despite being set up in the same formation with the same tactics and surrounded by the same personnel.....

What a funny game it is.

I dont think any rational person who saw the end of last season could of viewed the summer transfer business and thought "Ya, we're better off and in a good position to retain the title"

and if this summer was an attempt to back Mourinho and that was the best they could do, why are they still employed by the club?  The disaster that is this season is no worse than the disaster of a transfer window that took place this summer.

Oh, and how do I know for an absolute fact that Mourinho didn't get the backing he deserved?  Because if he did, then Cech would still be here and certainly not at Arsenal.  Mourinho was very public and very clear that this was a transfer authorized above his head and one he was 100% against....That is not speculation.

It's not really backing someone when you ignore them when you feel like it, is it?

And in that context, ya Papajonobody and Hector LOL

Last minute failed panic bids that even I knew was doomed to fail (and im no insider or manager pro, just a guy with some common sense, an understanding of finance and have actually looked at how clubs behave during
    transfer windows) LOL

The only decent purchase (Kennedy aside, because he was not intended to be a difference maker this season), Pedro, a last second panic swipe from MUFC because the season had started and made it clear that the problems hadn't magically disappeared...... LOL

Ya, I can see how some would think the manager who won the BPL got backed LOL well, I guess decently in comparison to how Carlo was backed after he won us the double....but certainly not backed like the summer window that delivered players who won the BPL title last season.

So if you truly think that the club tried to back Mourinho then fair enough, but I will only believe you if you admit that they are deluded and/or incompetent too....
