In honour of those that offered their lives so we have ours
I had family in both wars, and thankfully they all came home ( a rarity I know!). However, not all of them unscathed. One of my dad's uncles lied abut his age so he could join the Desert Rats. HE came home OK, but drank pretty heavily thereafter until he died of a heart attack. MY Great grand father was in the tank Batallion and had both his legs blown off from the knee down. Obviously, life was a struggle for him after that as well. I know this doesn't compare with those who died, but I also don't feel that you have to have died to become a hero. Thanks to all Scott

If my blood was not Blue...
Chelsea only, can't pull for anyone else. Interesting fact though.....In the film "Goal" they chose Newcastle as the club in the script, because they were seen as the least "hated" team by other fans in the English League. That is, outside of Sunderland, every other team seems to "not really mind them at all" Scott

BPL Prediction League Standings 2007 - Everton (h)
hey there Loz and Butch. If you look in the premiership forum, I posted my line up, score progression, and final score, etc. In the everton match thread. I posted this during the site's reconstruction, when there was no link to the BPL. I also, feel I should point out, that the post was well before the midnight cut off time on saturday. I also posted that I would not be able to get back to a computer to re-submit once the BPL link was back and running, so would it be possible the use my post in the forums as my official BPL submission? Not sure if you seen it, bu it is in there, and I would like for it to be cuonted (due to site re-construction) Please reply as to: whether you found my submission, and if you feel it can be used? Sincerely Scott

Chelsea - how far will they go?
I don't know how far we can go, but any team has a chance in a knockout Cup, assuming we get to that stage. But even Jose siad tht not always the best team in Europe can win this competition. Cases in point, Porto and Liverpool

Schalke 04 v Chelsea
If I was a Schalke supporter I would feel very Cheated tonight. They absolutely bossed us, didn't give maka one ounce of space, and yet we kept trying to play the ball through him. The wingers were hardly ever used, and I can't remember hearing Essien or Lampard's names mentioned during the 1st half. There were some signs of hope in teh 2nd half, adn I feel that Mikel brought some lovely touches, and passes through the middle. Especially between him and Frank. however, and I don't want to sound like a broken record, there was NO link to the final 3rd. Long balls hit towards Drogs a couple of times, and not much else. Also, I really wish Drogba would stop trying step overs, and close control. He simply can't do them. Okay, once in a blue moon he pulls them off, and they look great, but just stick to being a power forward, and leave the fancy footwork to the wingers!! I agree with Glory, his attitude seems off again. He's also stated before that he doesn't like playing as the lone striker, so he may be throwing the toys out the pram to prove a point! Either way, it has to end now! I am also suprised that Kalou, Pizarro and Sheva all stayed on the bench. I feel that the Mikel sub solidified that we were going there for a draw, and hoping to nick a lucky goal from Drogba. Point earned, and that is all that matters really. Rosenborg had a great time of it, and had we nicked that goal we would have been through tonight! I'm happy with the point, just not the performance. Scott

Expect media salivating about Liverpools mission impossible
I said the exact same thing in teh match day chat room earlier. Including the "special european Anfield nights" quote. It makes you sick. I also pointed out that they will go on abuot the might of liverpool rather than how crap Besiktas are; however, when we beat a team 3rd in the prem by 6, they merely focus on how bad Man City were! Double standards, when it comes to the Reds (man ure, liverscum, and le arse) it's never questioned Sott

Mickey is Back - well nearly
Totally agree mate, he is a great player, but we have not seen the best of him. Although his option to get surgery done himself was baffling. Tiem to earn your keep, or we should off-load him in the summer

Schalke 04 v Chelsea
Mikel played at teh tip of the diamond a couple of times. His quick touch, and vision were great. ANd at least there he didn't have to throw in last ditch tackles

Sinclair goes to QPR
I think that this Loan actually makes sense. It is a short term deal, he will be back for the CC, and he wil be back to play for us, or at least give us an option, when a fw of our key players are off to the ACN

Carling cup quarters
Rob, mate, something tells me you'll be fine! Anyway, I hate the fecking scoucers, and can't believe yet another year comes along where we face them in a cup competition. I would hate to lose our home record against English teams in all competitions against this bunch of hypocritical bar stewards! bring on Scoucers by the score!!!

6 Chelsea, then who?
This is merely a speculatory question, but, if you could only keep 6 Chelsea players, and then had to make up the rest of the squad with players who currently ply their trade in the Premiership, then what would your team look like? For me ....................Cech Finnan.........Terry..Carvs.....Gallas .....................Essien Ronaldo..........Lamps...............Fabregas ..................Drogs...Rooney Don't call me a heathen for adding a Scouser in, but just wanted to know who else your rated....almost made it that you could only keep 4 Chelsea Scott

JULIANO BELLETTI
Personally I couldn't believe that there were so many people on here who were branding him a "barca reject" ebfore he had even kicked a ball for us. So far he has looked solid both defending and attacking, adn I think he might have shown Paulo how to cross! I thin he could be one of our better signings in recent memory Scott

MOTM vs Leicester
I match lofty's verdict!

Leicester at home in the CC round 4
I have said this elsewhere, but I thin if we just stick sheva at the edge of the box and rely on his goal scoring abilities, then we will get the ebst out of him. To play him wide in a 4-3-3 formation is futile, as it means he drops further outside his natural area, and is missing when potential balls are played into the box. He doesn't have the pace anymore to be chasing a game, but he still has the predatory instinct to get goals when the ball is in a dangerous area. By all accounts, his first goal tonight went; pass from Essien to sheva, sheva with back to goal has great first touch to his right, then blasts a left footed shot into the back of the net. Touch, and finnishing, lets play him in an area where he can capitalize on this. Even up front with Drogs in a 4-4-2 where drogba can muscle players away, and Sheva can pick up on teh scraps!
