This should help. The full path to the final is shown in the picture. I have shown Path A in blue and Path B in red. In the final there will be a single "blue" team and a single "red" team. In theory both paths to the final should be equally strong, but if you look at the teams things are quite curious. In my opinion every major favorite to win the whole tournament is in the blue path.

According to uefa.com the draw is completely open. Can teams from the same country play each other in the Champions League quarter-finals? Yes, it is an open draw. There are no seedings and no country protection, so clubs can face opposition from the same national association and teams they previously came up against in the group stage.
