1998 was the best and the first one for me, I was 13. I think you tend to enjoy football more as a child or teenager, I think the era pre Roman for us 1995-2003 was the best time watching football. Its hard to explain but it was just special. Nowadays I don’t watch footy outside Chelsea much, when you have kids, husband, job and mortgage your mind drifts elsewhere I’m afraid!

Looking at Lampard as a manager you have to take emotion and sentiment out of the equation, it’s all a bit AVB esque so far..

Yeah the quality of games might not be as good due as we don’t have the physical capability of men but it’s more skill and technique based and I think it’s ok to watch, football is football, it’s better than love Island anyway!

Little bit insecure now he’s gone, now no players are older than me at the club except Willy!

Bloody hell, if we get him Lampard is nowhere near ready for this job. We could be swapping 30 years of experience and a European trophy winning manager for someone with 1 year in the job. No idea who we could appoint, as Sarri was perfect for this time period anyway, to rebuild. Mourinho might ruin his legacy but at least would be exciting! (in pressers)

I see we're not competing for the same man
He's indeed done a better job than Morata, but on the whole in the league he could have been better. Not complaining about his European form, mind you.

3rd and a possible Europa League win is a horrible chapter?! It’d be a better season than everyone in the league apart from City and the CL winner

Heir to Ash ? Did this guy ever play for us? Might’ve done but 15/16 is a blur to me thankfully. I was pregnant most of the season but even that wasn’t as painful as some of the results we had

How has Sarri got this reputation of a tramp just for a tracksuit? Seems an odd thing to beat him with! Wouldn’t care if Sarri turned up in a mankini, I mean it wouldn’t be the best sight ? but he’s done a great job so far considering we’re in a transition period

MrsGaffer got a reaction from Valerie in Emma Hayes
I think women in football are overall just a victim of stupidity from men in society in general, people just want us to ‘know our place’ and just be ‘feminine’ and not compete with men or stand out because that’s ‘masculine’. People think this is still 50 years ago where women just stayed at home and look after kids while men worked. Going by that I’m ‘feminine’ as in when I get home I care for my 2 kids etc, but as I coach football for youth I’m being competitive and also standing out so this is seen as ‘masculine’ It’s just human qualities for both and should be normalised.
I can agree women’s players aren’t at a great level, but that’s down to physicality mostly. Some male players wouldn’t look out of place there, like our very own Torres and Morata aren’t the embodiment of masculine! But it’s different for managers. If you’ve seen Emma Hayes interviews she has as much knowledge as the game as a man. Tactically I think no problem she could be a Premier League manager, but outside factors is stopping her. Can you imagine the amount of media attention it’d get if she became our manager, just because she doesn’t have a penis?!
