cfcwomble got a reaction from Nevamind in Leeds Utd vs Chelsea (PL) Sat 13th Mar 12:30 GMTBrave mate, brave brave pick that one... TBH, he had a really decent season first time around.
Were you quoting creeping death by Metallica? ?

cfcwomble reacted to strider6004 in Official Thomas Tuchel *Now Sacked*I think he is doing very well at Fulham.
Liam mentioned something about his private life not something I know about yet does dress as though he is fashion conscious in a way a younger person might do.

cfcwomble reacted to PloKoon13 in Official Thomas Tuchel *Now Sacked*If anyone is curious, this is the league table since Tuchel was appointed:
I suppose a lot of the observations are fairly obvious:
- We're not scoring many at all, but our defensive record is exemplary.
- We're the only unbeaten side.
- Hahaha Liverpool
The Leeds game aside, our upcoming run of league fixtures are all against (taking a very basic view) sides who primarily set themselves up to be hard to beat. While our current setup has been ideal for facing higher-quality sides, some of the weaknesses we've shown might be more easily exploited by teams less inclined to open up for us. I will be very curious to see how Tuchel adapts the side to this.

cfcwomble reacted to just in Official Thomas Tuchel *Now Sacked*It is obvious you know a lot about Tommy. The bit I have highlighted indicates you might not know as much about Chelsea, our board and our owner.
If Tuchel, at any point, has a run of results like Jurgen has had recently he will be gone.
Same as all the others before him. It can happen very, very quickly here.

cfcwomble reacted to jony92 in Official Thomas Tuchel *Now Sacked*Tuchel never got sacked because of lack of points or performance. In Mainz he wanted to leave in order to make the next step. He did really well there for 5 years always developed the squad and was on average in all years together Top 5 of Bundesliga with Mainz who are usually way down in the table.
In Dortmund it was a tough one with the boss who promised to keep at least one of the top 3 players (Mikyhtarian, Gündogan, Hummels). In the end all of them left and he was very unhappy with the squad afterwards. After that trouble with Watzke (BVB CEO) started. There were some weird communication problems between him and Watzke after BVB were part of the terror attack before the Quarter Final in CL against Monaco. In the end Watzke sacked him because he had problems with Tuchel.
At PSG he did very well, formed a great team with all the egos somehow put them together. Don't know really know why Leonardo sacked him. They didn't get along at all after he only bought useless Icardi for 50 Million and sold all of the good youth players. After a awful lot of injuries in the first half of the seasons 2020/2021(Mbappe, Neymar, Veratti and Marquinhos were missing lots of games) tons of corona case and many red cards, he had hardly a competitive squad at hand and still managed to be at the top or near (I think two points behind in Ligue 1)in all competition.
So he never did run out of ideas or the squad didn't follow. All of this talk about him being such a difficult person after some time comes from the Watzke cause who talked a lot of sh*t after they parted. Tuchel could be with Chelsea for a long period if he gets the support from the board. Brilliant manager who will certainly win trophies.

cfcwomble got a reaction from Jezz in Vintage Blues pictures and filmStrider / Nibs, Cheers for the posts lads.
Bringing up Wee Jonny Spencer reminded me of his incredible double against Liverpool at the bridge. Two beauties that day. Carefree Mofo just posted them... Great day out that.
I remember making a spurs fan cry this day the morning after at school...
It was a fun time to be around the club and was think most were gutted when Hoddle left. Back then it was a struggle to get a decent name in. Pretty much laid the ground work for modern day Chelsea and clearly he had an affect on a player, Gavin Peacock became a church minister.
check out where the tunnel was... 😂
bluehaze, Im sorry I dont do group think or hive communication. I did have a giggle at an individual telling another to remove a like for a post... Its the stuff of playgrounds. Anyhow, good luck with your telepathic powers of mind reading.

cfcwomble got a reaction from strider6004 in Vintage Blues pictures and filmRead a lovely little article on David Lee, who came through the ranks. I was in the Harding stand the day he score his last goal for Chelsea and was carried off on a stretcher... Bobby Di Matteo scored one and I think Vialli in victory over spurs that day.
25 years ago is a lifetime. https://www.chelseafc.com/en/news/2018/9/6/my-blue-days--david-lee
Happy times and I loved the Hoddle revolution.

cfcwomble got a reaction from forbzy in Christian Pulisic - OfficialNot sure Pulisic can play football. he's the type of player who snaps Achilles and breaks his neck standing up from a toilet, even with CFC medical team that guy cant stay fit. Barkley has done more than him this season and he's been toilet at Villa. (35 million?😂😂😂😂😂 anyone stupid enough to pay double what we paid needs to go out of business) Pulisic has been really poor considering the cash we spent on him. Offload, get someone in who can stay fit.
Ziyech is another player too lightweight from Eredivisie to make an impact in the Premier League. Think Kezman... Move on this season.
Is Moses still on chelsea's books? That would lock up the right side. CHO isnt a wing back and as yet fails to create or score goals.
Bring Back Ampadu who has looked a class act in a relegation threatened team on the left side of a three. Bring in Ruben Loftus cheek and get rid of either Jorginho or Kovacic, see Fulham improvement since RLC inclusion to the match day team. Find a manager who isnt going to strangle games and bore the stadium to death a la sarri.
Those would be my changes this summer... but hey.. I appreciate not everyone see's it my way... I just dont think we're doing good business at the minute as our struggles show.

cfcwomble got a reaction from dkw in Official Thomas Tuchel *Now Sacked*would have played better than fleck....
No, Im just bored having the same conversations when the players decide to have a slump. Club changes manager, little changes same problems remain we struggle to score goals and then players have a slump. Club changes manager, little changes same problems remain and we struggle to score goals... hit repeat.
Football is about enjoyment Glad you enjoy the entertainment outline above.

cfcwomble got a reaction from jack h in Official Thomas Tuchel *Now Sacked*Brutus: It's hardly football to write home about and I'd suggest not getting to carried away just yet.
Since Tuchel took charge in league games - Chelsea have scored (9)
four more goals than West Brom (5)
three more than Fulham (6) and Sheffield United (6)
Defensively we appear to have improved. 13 clean sheets this season, 7 under FL 6 under TT.
The insistence to play Werner could yet cost the club a "arsenal celebration" spot.
Current club league top scorer Tammy Abraham...... 6 goals 2 assists 8 goal involvements from 1000 minutes: Werner 5 goals 8 assists 13 goal involvements from 2000 minutes. Giroud 4 goals
Thank Frank for Mount he's our top scorer under TT 3 in the league. Jorginho is second top scorer with 2 penalties.
The standard of football has been dire across the league for the last month or more.
Last night definitely wasn't the best ive seen Chelsea play but I'll take the points.

cfcwomble got a reaction from Luiz4Chelsea in Liverpool v Chelsea (PL) Thur 4th Mar 2021 20:15 GMTThere isn't a bone in me that doesn't want CFC success with whoever is in charge. I hope TT elevates his position into a tier one manager with us and is about for a while to build a legacy. the last series of managers from Conte through to present day haven't lasted longer than 18 months and I think that is impacting on player form more than players dropping out of form. which is why its interesting to see him bring in squad players under frank. He does get rather animated does TT... Hope it doesn't backfire.
Anyhow, Liverpool next and I'll take a point now to be honest.

cfcwomble got a reaction from Wearyourcolours in Liverpool v Chelsea (PL) Thur 4th Mar 2021 20:15 GMTI think the point is that Conte, Wenger, Carlo have all won consistent league titles and cups. Spain, Italy, EPL... etc. It really depends on how you view Ligue 1 and the Pokal cup when brining TT into this. Its not competitive because of the financial mismatch between PSG and the others... A bit like Scotland...
So would Chelsea appoint Niel Lennon for example after his exploits at Celtic, would CFC appoint Gerrard if he wins a domestic league double up there? hmmm... A poser on this Wednesday morning.
All if's and buts, so lets see what entertainment is served up by two clubs tomorrow night. Have a good day folks.

cfcwomble got a reaction from Wearyourcolours in Liverpool v Chelsea (PL) Thur 4th Mar 2021 20:15 GMTI wouldn't do this as a Chelsea fan... Klopp is a tier one manager, there are few left but Chelsea stopped dining at that table years ago and the best names in the game are now unlikely to come to us other than for a pension windfall. Tuchel is simply a best from the rest category unless he wins where he can elevate his own reputation.
Klopp wouldn't have lasted romans firing gun with the slump Liverpool have been on... Yet he's still there. We sacked Carlo after winning a double... Anyhow, TT will more than likely be gone if he fails to get top 4. Id go British, wait until the euros and go for Steve holland.
