Huge match this. We need to score early because the longer the game goes on the more I think we'll try to over do it and that's where we can get caught out. Higuain has been rubbish but if he steps up today then all is forgiven. Hazzy can't do it all.

Why give a team that has no intention of attacking respect? Yeah they have defended well, but it's negative football. That said they will probably be rewarded for it with an 80th minute counter attack.

Eden and Kante, with Rudiger not too far behind. It is weird though because whilst I love everyone that plays for Chelsea, 10-15 years ago I would struggle to pick a favourite because there were so many to choose from. Lamps, JT, Drogba, Cech, Essien, Ballack, Duff, Joe Cole, Robben, Makelele could have all been my favourite at one point.

Honestly we need to be winning all of these games. No game is easy but that's a dream run at an important time in the season. If we win all four we're well and truly back in the top four, we just have stay there at that point. We're also 4 behind Arsenal in terms of goal difference, so we should be looking to try and put 3 or 4 past Fulham and Cardiff.

Juve maybe not, but if we land CL over United then that will make us a better prospect than them.

It is kinda weird how much we struggle in attack. Willian can be up and down, but he still has immense ability and he can create chances. Hazard is one of the best attacking players in the world but he can't do it all on his own. Higuain, despite his age and recent form, is still a lethal striker on his day. You throw in Pedro and CHO and we should be creating chances at will. From midfield Kante is really the only one that gets forward, and that's not ideal. If Kovacic could get more involved in an attacking sense and start chipping in with some assists and goals that too would relieve the pressure. We were always blessed that we had Lampard who could score striker amounts of goals from mid but we don't have anyone like that. Barkley could be that player but he can be a bit inconsistent as well. I'm not saying someone from mid needs to score 20+ a season like Lamps, but if you get the likes of Barkley and Kovacic chipping in with 8-10 goals each that can make a hell of a difference.

I would imagine Kepa's punishment is over now and I expect to see him back in goal for the Fulham match.

I'd have thought we would have learned our lesson of buying former players. Very rarely does it pay off, you're really only chasing their former glory.

So if we do get one more transfer period after the appeal what's the bet we'll load up on more youngsters again?

I'm pretty sure he was played in a central midfield role a couple of times.

As others have mentioned, it's not as bad as we first think. When you first read the headline you think it's a complete catastrophe and the entire club is going to be playing in League 1 in a couple of years but there's every chance that we could get it reduced and that would most likely be a January window anyway. There's also the fact that we aren't going to be short of squad depth with all the younger players we have, and honestly some of them wouldn't have done a worse job than some of our players this year anyway. It's annoying, for sure, but it won't break us.

This could really bite us. There's nobody else in the squad with the anywhere near the same skill set as Cesc.

The fact we have Europa means I think we're ok for mids. At best maybe we have one too many, but I'm happy we have a bit of depth in that department. Drinkwater will be the one that sees the least amount of time, but if he can come on to give a first teamer a rest in a Europa League match then that's fine by me.

Don't think people were complaining about him not starting, it was more the fact we have both Zappa and Moses on the bench when one of those could have dropped out for CHO.

Maybe the thought is that Moses will play further forward and Azpi can shift to LB in place of Alonso if Zappa comes on. Not saying I agree with it, but I would imagine that's the thinking behind it.

Would have much preferred CHO over Moses, but it's about what we expected.

I mean, if we're using YT videos then those that don't have faith in him have this. For what it's worth I still have faith in him. I think under a more attacking style he can come right. If he's still not looking good after the first couple of months then I think he'll be on limited time.

Yep, that touch was terrible. I think he had too much time to think about it. Didn't even really need to take a touch, should have hit it first time.
