  1. That's a meaningless stat because we played more games this season than in all but 1 season under Roman. Reaching both domestic cup finals, the super cup, club world cup. Champions league QF (we only missed 3 possible games this season) 4 Finals we reached based on our defence and we managed 3 goals in nearly 500 minutes across them. 1 being a penalty. In terms of goals per game our numbers weren't quite so good. United suffered due to Ronaldo because previous consistent goal scorers like Bruno, Rashford and Sancho didn't score as much as before. That's not really a worry for us as we're not going to miss the pathetic output out attacking players bring. That's the reason we're linked with Ronaldo in the first place. I don't even want Ronaldo but him taking time/goals away from our terrible set of options isn't the reason.
  2. What goals? Jorginho finished as our top scorer the in 2020/2021 with 8 Only mount scored 10 league oals for us last season. I don't want Ronaldo but it's not like he can take any goals away from Pulisic and Ziyech! We have no goals to suck.
  3. In what way is he overpriced? 45m for a world class premier league proven player in his prime who's scored over 100 PL goals in our weakest position. We paid more for Pulisic who couldn't buy a goal or even get a game in a weaker league. Sterling is the most exciting signing we've made in a long time and a big upgrade for us.
  4. Hopefully it cuts it to 0
  5. Massively unfair to Group Willian and Luiz with Pato and Kennedy We haven't had a Winger half as talented as Willian since he left. And Luiz would walk into our shambles of a defence even now.
  6. That goes without saying. Ronaldo is 37 and he's still likely to score more goals between now and the end of his career than Pulisic will between now and the end of his.
  7. Usually I'd agree with this. But in this case there's a strong possibility we'd finish in the bottom half without signing anyone. We can't go into the season with the centre backs we have it just isn't an option after letting 2 of our starting centre backs leave on frees and our other starter turning 38 this season.
  8. We can fix that by selling Kante. He's as past his best as Ronaldo, has 1 year left, is our highest earner and can't stay fit. i don't even want Ronaldo but i'd be open to a Kante and Ronaldo swap deal. Gallagher can replace Kante.
  9. He's literally the worst free kick taker on the planet and has been for like 8 years now. The fact he'd want all the Free kicks isn't a positive.
  10. Worked well for United. I remember their fans saying similar last year.
  11. Lukaku mk 2. Albeit Ronaldo is actually talented just past his best. If we want to sign one of the best players in the world on big money just before his 100th Birthday Neymar is the guy we should look at not Ronaldo.
  12. Neither will players like Pulisic or Ziyech. I think people acting like Neymar is too old or we don't need him really need to look at how untalented and terrible our wide players are. If it's a loan or PSG cover part of his salary we should be all over this. He could sit like Winston Bogarde and earn his money at PSG. If he wants to come here it's because he has the hunger to play. Give me a 50 year old Neymar over Pulisic anyday.
  13. Lukaku absolutely was the top talent at Everton just as Carroll was at Newcastle when Liverpool signed him and Benteke was at Villa. Fellaini was Evertons best player when United signed him, Barkley one of their best when we signed him. The moral isn't just don't sign players from Everton but being premier league proven at a smaller club is no guarantee of success. Even Klopp has found that out with Oxlaide Chamberlain. They're not all hits. It's about identifying the right attributes in a player what league he plays in is irrelevant.
  14. It's hit and miss but you're only remembering for the hits. For every Mane and Cahill There's a Maguire, a Lukaku, a Benteke, a Carroll. Lots and I mean Lots of players perform well at small clubs that often have a lot of space to play in or sit back deep and then struggle massively to adapt to playing at a top club. Having performed well in the league previously is a big bonus but it's not even close to a guarantee of success.
  15. That would save us dozens of pounds off the fee. Dozens. Juventus aren't going to take a player that isn't good enough for them on 150K a week. I know the dream is to swap our deadwood for some top players but these swaps rarely come off. It will be a cash deal and if we're giving them 70m for De Ligt it's a certainty they're going to use it to sign better players than Pulisic or whatever other deadwood we think we can include to lower the fee of their best player.
  16. Only in threads were we're linked with a new winger. What's odd is so many people being skeptical or unenthusiastic about all the high quality wingers we're linked with like Dembele/Sterling/Raphina/Neymar etc when we currently have an injury prone 4 goal a season championship standard player that was only signed solely due to his nationality and off the field value. We're not in a position to be picky, Pulisic is the worst Winger we have and we're desperate for an upgrade. The players we're linked with are all big upgrades and I can't imagine the people who aren't convinced by them genuinely want us to go into another season with the Mark Madsen of soccer chasing his 8th consecutive poor season.
  17. Facts often are. The fact is we put together an attacking line up with a player that wasn't good enough for Dortmund and a player that completely failed at United and people seem surprised that we weren't scoring goals like City or Liverpool. We massively lack talent in forward roles I don't see how people can be against signings like Sterling/Neymar and Dembele. All 3 huge upgrades on what we have.
  18. He played 14 games.
  19. It's not difficult to agree deals with clubs if you throw ever increasing amounts of money at them. Telling Leeds we'll pay them 60m while not making sure the player actually wants the move is very amateurish Boehly did well getting Marina out ASAP as she was dreadful but I did hope he'd have a replacement already considered rather than trying to lone wolf our transfer business this summer.
  20. A rejected loser is someone like Pulisic who failed at his previous club before coming here or Lukaku that had already failed at a top Premier league and been shipped off. A player that has been offered a new contract by Barca. The 2nd most talented player of his generation And a home grown 30 g/a a season premier league proven superstar who's been offered a new contract by the best club in the world isn't some ensemble of losers. That front 3 would be a massive upgrade on what we have.
  21. He's an old rambling idiot. He got upset that he got bullied off twitter a while back for his nonsense and he's been bitter ever since. Once I pointed out to him that the majority of information and journalism comes through twitter now He's been angry every since. Quite sad really but what can you do about those kind of people? It's incredibly cringey to see someone cry about twitter constantly while commenting on transfer news that has broken via twitter. It's an astonishing lack of awareness.
  22. Adama plays for Wolves mate. Raphina plays in his position and Adama would start for us. Withdrawing our bid would only let Barca get him cheaper. If we only signed players that didn't prefer Barca we'd never manage to field an 11.
  23. You don't need to be. You just need a functioning brain cell. Just one would do. No one even pretends to care about the regulations surrounding "tapping up" it's not even an open secret anymore. It's even at the point now where "super" agents such as Raiola r.i.p and Mendes etc are happy to go around trying to market their clients to clubs while they're still contracted by a parent club. Finding out if Raphina had any interest in joining us before planning a move is the most basic of steps. It's very rare and quite frankly embarrassing to agree a fee with a club for a player that has no interest in signing for you. It just makes us look bad.
  24. Oh my sweet summer child. There's not a player that has moved clubs in the last 50 years that hasn't spoken to their new club prior to their current club agreeing a fee. Do you think we haven't spoken to Kounde, Sterling etc. Clubs put the feelers out and know if a player is interested in a move before putting together a bid. in this case Raphina agreed terms with Barca 4 months ago.
  25. So we should if we get 35m+ Just as we were right to sell Lukaku for 28m to get Costa in. Not every hyped youth prospect ever reaches the standard and very few will make it in our team. People are scarred by Salah and KDB but the majority of young projects we sell don't do on to achieve much. Imagine if we'd managed to get good fees for Mceachran, Kakuta, Cho, Hutchinson and the hundreds of other highly rated teenagers that didnt make it? I'm not convinced by Broja and while I wouldn't let him go cheap I wouldn't be opposed to selling him for a big offer.
