With Spuds out of the CL, I can see him wanting to go onto bigger things, and I'd love him to come to us. Such a fantastic player, brilliant passer, eye for goal aswell. McEachran would be Modric's direct substitute easily, occasional starts, regular appearances off the bench. If we sign a winger (which we MUST), either Neymar or Sanchez would be ideal. Whether Sturridge will appreciate being a winger is another matter, but I think his pace and trickery will work wonders.

I think he's very much a right place, right time striker, but I can't deny he's been impressive for Sunderland and now for Villa. He has pace to burn aswell. Great signing for Villa.

I disagree I'm afraid. He showed flashes in the first half, but in the 2nd half he was absolutely awful. He wasn't desicive, never made any great runs with and without the ball, couldn't beat his man. Poor, poor show I thought.

Bizarre performance. Anelka was shocking the whole game I thought, Torres completely anonymous. Josh, what a great first league start.
