Considering the sinancial fair play rules, I'm sure it won't be a spending spree in the summer, so do you think it's worth taking a punt on some of these guys if their clubs go down?

West Ham:

James Tomkins- young central defender.

Scott Parker- been sublime this season but has had his chance here before.

Jack Collison- I think he may be worth a punt, only 22 and looked impressive before his injury.

Demba Ba- been impressive since his move.

Wigan:

James McCarthy- only 20 and looks promising.

Charles N'Zogbia- still pretty young, yet experienced in the PL. would cost £10m+ though.

Victor Moses- still young and likes to take on players.

Blackpool:

Charlie Adam- started the season well but has faded away, maybe has his eyes on a summer move? I doubt he'll come here though.

Wolves:

Matt Jarvis- I like this guy, great delivery and English.

I'll include these two but I doubt they'll go down-

Birmingham:

Scott Dann- I don't think we need defencsive reinforcements, but this guy's in only 24.

Blackburn:

Chris Samba- strong CB but not right for us.

Stephen N'Zonzi- always been impressed with him but don't think he's good enough.

Phil Jones- I think this guy has got real quality, natural defender and only just turned 19.

Discarding the two teams which I think are pretty safe, I think both Collison and Jarvis are worth a look.

I think Phil Jones is the only one we might go for, but wouldn't mind any of the above. But really only Parker would have a chance of getting in the team & maybe Jarvis.

I would have Ben Foster, Rob Green as our number 2, in fact I would have any of their GK as our number 2.

Ben Foster would be a great back up keeper

I think it's quite easy to deduce that'd be highly unlikely even if Birmingham go down due to the fact he left Man Utd as he was unhappy at being a backup. He'll find a decent club in the Premier League to join if they are relegated to the Championship.. although I think Birmingham will just about be safe.

I'd happily take Jones and Jarvis.

Jones could be made into a defensive midfielder or a centre back, and he's good enough to play both positions well, although if we were to sign him, we'd probably be better loaning him out because he needs first team football to continue his development.

Jarvis could definately be worth a punt. He's been excellent for Wolves, and a lot of people might think he still isn't Chelsea standard...but it might suprise some people who can look good for a better team. He wouldn't cost too much (though still wouldn't be cheap...with his Englishness and all), and if it didn't work out, he would still have a sell on value.

There are a couple more that could make good back ups...hopefully better than what the likes of Sidwell managed.....

All this said, I doubt we'll go for any of the relegated players. It seems that we'll continue to go for the fantasy signings...whereas if we supplemented what we already have, with one (maybe two) bigger name signings, and a couple of these talanted young English players in the releagtion fire sale, it could give a lot better balance.

Kevin Doyle of Wolves - not a prolific goalscorer but has a great touch and is excellent at holding up the ball to allow the midfield to catch up with play. Squad player rather than a starter but useful addition nonetheless. Freddie Sears is a good shout too.

Although they're safe I'd also be sniffing around West Brom for their striker Odemwhatevertherestofhisname is (winge or something similar). Scoring goals for fun in a team primarily set up defensively by Hodgson

Isn't he just an older version of Kalou?

hunt from westbrom, liveerpool are interested to get him maybe they think theyd rather have him than Adam similar player

Please dont tell me you are talking about stephen hunt!!! plays for wolves so cant be sure if this is the hunt you are talking about. Not sure if you can recall but stephen hunt just about killed petr

not him you see the guy who plays for west brom left foot cm area he's the captain..............just remembered his names Brunt

Reading that list I dont theres a single player in it who would add to our current squad, or a single player who is better than the players we currently have. Maybe N`zogbia at a push.

Brunt, hunt, c**t - easy mistake to make

Matt Jarvis, Demba Ba and Phil Jones for me. All three are quality and at an age where they can be molded into top footballers. Has anybody seen the New Zealander Winston Reid from West Ham? He's only 22 and very good. I've seen him play at international level, and anybody that saw New Zealand's FIFA World Cup campaign will know that he's a quality central defender, very good in the air on defence and attack. He'd be worth a look, would probably get him extremely cheap.

But, do we really need another defender? And I think we have a few coming through the ranks that would be miffed if we came up with cash for another young defender
