I think that we have dropped off so far that teams like Real Madrid don't need to hurt us. They'll pick us off for a goal in the first half, then start resting players and will Coast to another uncontested 2-0 win, I expect.

I have posted elsewhere that I am not sure in comparison to the alleged quality of the players involved. The Chelsea I grew up watching of the late 70s and 80s had the right to be rubbish, cos the players were generally rubbish. It's incomparable when we are comparing Fofana, Koulibaly,  Kovacic, to Rougvie, Mclaughlin, Stanley, Hazard (Micky not Eden). This to me is the worst Chelsea team I can remember seeing because it contains some of the best players we've had.

Potter had to go, Frank didnt have to come in admittedly,   but I'd rather see & listen to him at pressers than Potter he was a nice bloke but a right boring billy hunt

Enzo likely will be, but I don't ask him to be yet as he has been here all of 5 minutes.
Kante is an inspiration in how he plays, but not a leader imo.
James is my greatest disappointment so far this season as a leader, I felt he has shirked his responsibility and been happy to fade in to the background, rather than help lift the team. Same as Mase.
Chilwell is coming along nicely there I will give you that one.

Or.....Todd could be thinking if we knock Bayern out (i know), and Bayern lose the German league to Dortmund, Tuchel will get the sack quicker than Potter and Todd can re-employ Tuchel.

I've got to be honest,I couldn't stand Potter but we definitely had a better chance of going through with him in charge instead of Frank.

The last thing Todd wants is a possible match up against Tuchel.
It's got all sorts of ramifications for him.
Expect a loss , avoid Tuchel, and face saving for Todd .
 

Well we already know that our team is goal-shy, so sadly probably the best we can hope for is a solid defensive display that keeps the score respectable. Could be a long night. Is there any news on Fofana? Looked like he picked up an injury towards the end of the game yesterday.

As Merse said after the game, “4 wins in 21 Premiership games. This must be the worst run ever for a team with so much talent in the squad”. 

Disappointed today though to be fair Frank has been back less than a week.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, we’ve had our 15 minutes and it’s all over now. We’re in Everton of the last 30 years territory now.  There is no way back to the top, we’re a comedic catastrophe. It’ll just take time for everyone to realise that this is just the way it is now.

The only reason for my support is the chance of a true Chelsea Legend showing these new players what it means to be Chelsea. 
The work ethos, cultural and fighting spirit of Chelsea. 
It ENDS there. Not expecting a great league/champs league run culminating in lifting Big Ears or anything like that. 
I just hope it doesn't end up with him as a full time manager even in the unlikely event of winning champs league. Anyway I shouldn't think about that now as it is unlikely, but my view is that he is still not good enough a manager for a club of our aspirations to have as a permanent manager 
The most qualilfied person at the moment in my view out of all the contenders and given the circs is Pochettino. Sad, given his Spurs link but true I believe. 
He gave Spurs the edginess that made them very hard and difficult to play against. Yes we know all the jokes and how they never got it Iver the line but the Battle of the Bridge is a prime example of that edginess he gave them which I dare say our team needs. 
He is great with young players. 
He understands the league. 
He has overseen a title challenge and champions league run all the way to the finals. 
He has won a league title, even though in what we deride as a one club league (so has Nagelsmann) so that monkey is off his back. 
Spurs failure to win under him was more a reflection of Levy than Pochettino in my view and if he had winners in the team as we still do, I believe he would have gotten silverware of some sort.
That's my opinion anyway. Could be bollocks of course.
