Newsflash - we've got a new manager with a totally new team. Unfortunately we will have other days like this in the coming season. The fact we're in the midst of an injury crisis makes it even harder.
 
Positives
We were the better side by a long way, dominating possession and being in control of the game pretty much throughout.
 
Negatives
We didn't score, missed several decent chances
Jackson had a very poor game (it happens)
Individuals mistakes for their goal
Couldn't break down an 11 man defence
 
I do agree with those saying we need to ditch the back 3. Pointless having so many defenders when the opposition park the bus.

In regards to the "rot" that we've had at the club. We finished 10th under Mourinho in his return and then 5th again with Conte in his second season. Both times we won the league the season before. That doesn't happen to a genuine title challenger. We should have got stronger after a league win, not weaker. It makes no sense. Since Conte we've stagnated as a club. Winning that CL was the sticking plaster. The new owners have come in and bought relatively well, but they've also made mistakes. At the end of the day it will take a lot more patience and time for us to be a cohesive team. Heck, maybe we are surprised post international break and things fall into place. The signs are there of a team that can play well and get results, but they need way more gelling than is there at the moment. So much money has been spent that we expect way more. Maybe the expectations are too high, too soon.  

I'd much prefer to wait. Resign Maatsen and then go all in on Ivan Toney for January/next summer.
He'd add some goals and PL experience at the point of our attack. He can mentor Jackson or play alongside him.  
Then it's time to bed down and let the squad grow together under Poch.
Add a GK next summer unless Sanchez balls out an surprises us.    

He causes defenders real problems,  great to see him harassing them after a year of Havertz wafting around like a crisp packet in the wind.

Lukaku and Ziyech need to f**k off now. Sad to see CHO go but he hasn't been good enough, even for Leverkusen. What Saka is today is what I thought he'd become. It happens in football. I also thought Josh McEachran would take over from Lampard.
Ultimately, it's entirely possible we can raise a further 70-100m in sales if you count Lukaku, Ziyech, CHO and possibly Chalobah and (I hope not) Gallagher.

We signed two elite scorers last season and that didn't stop us having our worst scoring season in 99 years.
Sort out the system and the goals will take care of themselves.

It's a lot of money, but honestly he is quality and while the media and rival fans will bring it up regularly I'm confident a Caicedo & Enzo midfield will make their tears even sweeter.

Yeah agreed, we're not a done team yet. But my point was that clearlake are taking it seriously and are laying the groundwork to challenge them in the future. Football goes in cycles, no one dominates forever and we are looking well positioned to be next in line. City's will end once Pep leaves imo.
Yeah it's too soon to say considering they haven't played together yet but on paper the potential is definitely there. Midfield wins you trophies. Exciting times!

It all now all depends on moving on Lukaku, Sarr, CHO, Ziyech and also Trev I think. Think we will see some real outwards movements for the rest of the week now. Need to get money in and free up the wage bill. Then get in a couple more and we are set. We really are spoilt being Chelsea Fans that for sure.

I think on balance we were the better side - saw a lot of positives in our approach and performance, feels like a real transformation from last season. If we play every game with that spirit we will be worth watching.
