TTWW reacted to ForeverCarefree in Alexis SanchezMe too but that's mainly because I don't have any friends.

TTWW reacted to GarnachoCheese in Welcome Ross BarkleyNever played a single game for us but deserves to play over people that have been training all year.
Okay mate..

Oh joy I forgot about the ABBA system.
How do they manage to ruin everything?

TTWW reacted to Zeta in Chelsea Vs Norwich (FAC) Wed 17th Jan 2018 19:45 UKUtterly disgraceful. Embarrassed to be a a Chelsea fan seeing all this diving. This sort of form and performance is how seasons implode.

TTWW reacted to ForeverCarefree in Andy Carroll - Football has gone madBig Andy Carroll.
Strong as an ox and built like a brick sh*thouse.
Raised on a diet of Yorkshire puddings and Newcastle Brown Ale.
Finally we can play long balls from deep, pumping it up to the big man.
That Spanish fairy Morata doesn't have the strength to play in the greatest league in the world. Move aide Alvaro, there's a real man coming. Proper English lad who doesn't mind getting down and dirty.
Those Johnny Foreigners don't like it up 'em. Just you wait till we rock up to the Camp Nou with our British Beef Battering-ram, they won't know what's hit 'em.
Brexit! Blue Passports! Warm Ale! Fighting on the Terraces! Andy Carroll!
I feel like I've got my Chelsea back!

TTWW reacted to CFCCAN in Andy Carroll - Football has gone madIf that was really the case and the thought of simply saving everything for next year is in the minds of the Board why even bother spending 20-30 million? You just as well recall one of the youngsters out on loan and or play a false 9 now and then against weaker teams and limp home in 4th place. Realistically the league is gone, the fight is for 2-3-4 is the best we can hope for; even if we do manage to beat a weak Arsenal team next week I doubt we will beat City in the Final because we haven't got a team like Liverpool that can press for 90 minutes; the FA Cup might be a bit of silverware but it depends who we meet beyond Newcastle if we get that far, and as for playing Barcelona they are hardly shaking in their boots....so if the idea of waiting is in the Boards mind wasting 20-30 million on an injured player just does not make any sense whatsoever.

TTWW reacted to xXRuufioXx in Following Our Nearest & Dearest Rivals, 2017/2018Regardless of the hatred of Liverpool on here (believe me I hate them too), They are in far better form than us, and have a far better attacking threat than we have too. In their recent 3 matches they have managed to beat Leicester, Burnley and City. Guess how we did against those teams!
Some fans won't like to admit it (and I know it's hard), but Liverpool are better than Chelsea! Their defense is the only area which I would say is weaker than ours, but it's now far stronger than it was last year. And if you're defending from the front and outscoring your opponents then I would say it doesn't matter so much about defense as it does to us.
What I will say is this. Depending on our transfers this January, I believe we will finish below City, Liverpool & United. It could be a fight between us and Spurs for 4th. Don't think we will fall further than that unless we somehow end up worse than Arsenal. But even we can't be that bad! Can we?

TTWW reacted to Slojo in Welcome Ross BarkleyI think we're signing him for his nationality more than anything else, I would be surprised if he plays a lot of games.
Not big on this signing but I hope he does prove me wrong.

Pep is a phenomenal manager.
He's always been at the top of the game everywhere he's been.
Ask Carlo if the Bayern job is easy.

As Chelsea fans, we have been here before, what we are seeing is us heading into another situation where things come unstuck, and it's happening after yet another title win. Wouldn't it be nice to celebrate a successful season without the next one being so full of problems ?
-
TTWW reacted to Zeta in Deadline Day DramaSure we'll get these deals wrapped up as soon as the Nike deal kicks in.

TTWW reacted to Chelsbear in Random RumoursCan't believe I'm seeing folk post they wouldn't be bothered if we didn't sign anymore players. Have they been sleeping while we have sold or loaned out a huge part of our already thin squad?
We don't have the numbers to be successful in multiple competitions and that for the current EPL champions with the income and revenue we generate is a bit embarrassing really.
We still require cover for both wing backs or upgrades while we are short in midfield. It's going to be a long season and if we want to progress in Europe in the group we have its crucial we make GOOD signings next week or we are in trouble. Simple as

TTWW reacted to Davey Baby in Random RumoursWindows didn't exist in those days though. I think this window thus far has been spectacularly bad. Yes we've signed Bakayoko and Morata, but they'll be replacing Matic and Costa, so it's pretty much like-for-like. We've got a decent back-up in Caballero, one that City didn't want to keep as back-up, and we've signed Rudiger and recalled Christensen, at the same time losing Zouma, Terry and Ake.
We haven't signed any WBs with the season underway and tough games looming, including City, Arsenal, Everton and Spurs. Even if we sign some players they'll need some time to bed in. We haven't replaced Chalobah, and if we lose Morata for any length of time we're probably in a lot of trouble.
We're certainly not stronger than last time round, our squad is much smaller, we have more games as a result of Europe and our rivals have strengthened. Then take into account the sale of Matic to Utd which our manager has said he was against. It's pretty unbef**kinglievable. Yes we'll buy players in the next 2 weeks, maybe as many as 5, but you rarely get a bargain towards the deadline and everybody knows we're desperate so we have no bargaining power, and very few of those purchases if any will be our first choice.
Not to put too fine a point on it, we're desperate. Our current squad boasts 15 senior outfield players. Yes we've come a long way since the old days but times have changed and in the present context the board have done a spectacularly bad job this summer, whatever happens. Our manager is in a rotten state of mind and that's no way to be starting the new season and it's scarcely what he deserved after his efforts last term.
I'm sorry but the board have got a lot to answer for in my opinion. What's Conte's net spend since he joined the club? He's got every right to feel aggrieved.
Jesus Christ are we mad? We've got one of the best managers in the whole wide world. Back him. A happy Conte will reap dividends for this club. We really do everything to sabotage sometimes.
Edit: I hope I'm wrong but whoever we sign in the next two weeks I fear irreparable damage may have been done in terms of the relationship between Conte and the board. Shame because it was all so f**king unnecessary.

TTWW reacted to DonAntonio in Alex SandroWe didn't have Europe last year and were tired towards the end of the season...we don't have enough players
-
TTWW reacted to GarnachoCheese in Alex SandroAll this can be interpreted differently though.
Rudiger was bought because we couldn't get our hands on Bonucci and Morata because the board failed with Lukaku. Whilst i agree they have all been good signings in quality, the quantity still isn't there.
Boga and Musonda have only been kept around due to the lack of numbers and when Hazard is back fit with Pedro i doubt either will get many minutes at all.
Matic has been in decline for us but has strengthened Utd considerably.
I don't see how you can look at this window and say its been active for the right reasons when we're in a much worse position than the end of last season.
-
TTWW reacted to Delnino in Danny DrinkwaterIf Drinkwater is the height of our ambitions for CM, we're f**ked.
Kante leaving Leicester exposed Drinkwater for all he is, a bang average footballer who happened to be paired with an exceptional partner.
I'd prefer one of our own players be 4th choice CM, rather than spending 30m on Drinkwater.
-
TTWW reacted to abramovich in Alex SandroKante was a good pickup, but Luiz was the last minute panic buy because we were chasing other defenders all summer long and couldn't land them. I'm glad he's matured and came back a more solid player, but let's not rewrite history here.
Also, the problem with "it's only halfway through the transfer window" argument is that while the window is open until the end of August, the season gets underway next week. Going into a new season with an unbalanced squad that lacks depth and quality is far from ideal, and we have a pretty tough schedule early on, with Spurs and Everton in August followed by Arsenal and City games in September. This summer we also went on a commercial trip to Asia, which probably didn't help preparing the team properly.
We can only guess the inner workings of our negotiating team and how they deal with transfers, but from the outside it looks like we have a tendency to take time and not rush into anything. It's probably wise and has to do with us being reluctant to overpay and being taken advantage of, but time and again it looks like we fail where other teams succeed. We regularly go after players that are unavailable and spend too much time and effort for naught and end up buying third or fourth options from our shortlist of targets late in the window. And guess what, when you consistently settle for back-up options, eventually you end up with an inferior squad.
I do hope the board drew the right conclusions from our past mistakes and hopefully we're in for some exciting surprises before the end of August. Otherwise, we're in big trouble.
-
TTWW reacted to abramovich in Alex SandroI think our biggest problem this transfer window was that we're selling much faster than buying. Regarding our midfield, we sold Oscar and released Mikel in January, in the summer window sold Chalobah and Ake, loaned out RLC and now selling Matic. The only midfielder we've bought in that period of time is Bakayoko and he isn't even fit to play yet. And the season starts in less than two weeks.
-
TTWW reacted to Michael in Alex SandroAt full strength our best (current) 11 is a very strong side, and if we can add Sandro then it's more than capable of retaining the title. The issue is we won't be able to play our full strength team every week, and as it stands we are lacking a lot of depth. That is the major concern for most.
-
TTWW reacted to BordeauxBlue in Alex SandroIt isn't about buying 6 players that would be better than those we have.
It's about adressing the glaring issue that is our midfield depth and wingback competition if their form dips.

TTWW reacted to TheChelseaBlues in Alex SandroPeople care about the financial well being of the club. They don't want to see large sums of money squandered on overrated players. IDK how you could not care

TTWW reacted to Chelsbear in Random RumoursBar Sandro the rest are average footballers imo.
-
TTWW reacted to Chelsbear in Fernando LlorenteYeah we don't need him and not at the ridiculous price being branded about. We have 2 strikers who score goals and a third would see next to no game time unless we had an injury ravaged season given we only play one up top. We have a wealth of young talent who could easily take the bench role.
Id hope our efforts are in the wing back area at present and also out wide.
