  1. Jack you took all the thoughts that I would have fumbled about for ages to put into words and you posted them word by word, yes even the Ronaldo shirt six sizes too big, honest be hard pushed getting a hat for him to match seriously Fifa stinks great post and rant, cheers
  2. Kev I only had a tenner but at 15/2 on sportingodds.com it makes it even more interesting, I also stuck a quid on Sheva first scorer and 0-2 at 28/1 which is a bit hopeful good luck to us all
  3. I wouldn't argue with the selections Jose has made for tonight, might be good to see Robben come on to torment some tired legs later on. big night for Diarra, poor bloke cant win, if he plays bad he will be dropped and if he plays a blinder he's gonna end up being a Right back hope he does well though. I normally bet on our games but I just dont know if Jose is thinking towards the draw? might still have a little go on 0-2
  4. A very good read, some of those things need to be quoted to a lot of hypocrites out there. cheers
  5. From the Belfast Telegraph http://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/sport ... 287475.ece ?80m losses but Abramovich future secure, say Chelsea Tuesday, February 20, 2007 By Sam Wallace The Chelsea hierarchy yesterday made its strongest pledge yet that Roman Abramovich would not walk away from the club despite his differences with Jose Mourinho and that it still believed it could "pay back" the ?500m the Russian billionaire has pumped into the club. It was a bold boast on the day that Chelsea posted ?80m losses up to the end of June 2006, after their record ?140m losses the previous year, but the club's chief executive Peter Kenyon said that it was on track to be self-sufficient by 2010. Asked whether Abramovich would ever ask for his "non-interest bearing loans" back, Kenyon said: "You know what? As chief executive I want to pay him back because that would show we are running this club as a real proper sustainable business." Chelsea were eager to point to a 42.9 per cent reduction in losses, an increase in turnover of 2.3 per cent and a rise in merchandising profits of 44 per cent - all part of their "five-year plan" to break even. But it was the Russian who rarely speaks in public who dominated the agenda again after he returned to Stamford Bridge following an absence of six matches for Saturday's FA Cup win over Norwich City. It fell to the chairman Bruce Buck, the American lawyer regarded as the closest link to Abramovich in the club outside the Russians in his circle, who reassured supporters the owner had no plans to move on. Speaking about accusations that Abramovich had "lost his interest and enthusiasm", Buck said that the Russian had not been at recent games because of work and family commitments. He said it was usual for Abramovich to take a family holiday in the Caribbean in the New Year and that his political career as governor of Chukotkameant that he had to spend time there appointing an administration. "We had several conversations with Roman because we know we have to do this every year," Buck said. "I can assure you his interest in the club has not waned one iota although he has been absent for four or five matches - he's watched those games on television. Him missing those matches is a non-story." Kenyon also pointed out that while the new owners of Manchester United and Liverpool had to pay big to buy the clubs (around ?790m for United and ?220m for Liverpool with a further ?200m for investment), most of Abramovich's money has been invested directly into football, including a new training ground and academy. Buck said: "We are not working towards a question of 'What if Roman should walk away?', but we realise from day one that we had to find a way to make this club profitable in the long term. No matter how much money the man has, and I don't know how much, at some point he is not going to want to invest more money in the club."
  6. Do you think Arsene is developing an unhealthy interest in Chelsea? Dont know if this has been posted before but cant find it, Wenger questions PSV-Blues link By Graeme Bailey - Created on 20 Feb 2007 Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has questioned the relationship between PSV Eindhoven and Chelsea. Wenger's men tackle PSV in the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League with the first leg at The Philips Stadion on Tuesday. Ahead of the clash, Wenger has taken the opportunity to launch a thinly-veiled dig at The Gunners' London rivals. "You have to know the bottom of things to know what the connection [between the clubs] really is," Wenger said. "There seems to be one, but I don't know what kind of connection exists legally." Chelsea's connection with PSV is not a straightforward co-operation. On more than one occasion, The Blues have helped finance a deal for a player - normally South American or one which cannot obtain a work-permit for England - with PSV who use the player, but in return Chelsea have the option to take him in the future. The most well known of these deals thus far has been for Brazilian defender Alex - who is now one of PSV's star performers and was linked with a move to Stamford Bridge in January. Although Arsenal themselves have co-operation deals all over the world, Wenger insists that Chelsea's deal is not so simple. "We had a connection with Beveren [of Belgium] with one difference - that they do not play in the Champions League. Eindhoven don't play in the same league as Chelsea, but they play in the same [Champions League] competition. It's very difficult to control, that's why the ownership of the players has to be clear." http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx?hli ... &channel=&
  7. Surprised Ferguson has not wrangled another couple of months from Laarson, His movement at 36 is still superb and he takes his chances well, looks like he could play at a high level for a couple more seasons, I would sooner see Saha in their line up than Laarson.
  8. Middlesboro or WBA V Man UTD or Reading Arsenal or Blackburn V Man City Chelsea V Spurs Plymouth V Watford Another home draw, superb
  9. I apologise I did go over the top calling all united fans scum, especially as 2 of my mates support united and they understand why i dislike united so much after the incident, i should have re-read the post before posting it, especially as i was bringing back a horrible memory, and emotions were running high by the end. Its easy to generalise when it comes to football supporters but always a mistake, the fact is there are good and bad in all groups of people and large groups of football fans are always going to be worse than one or two fans at a time, if you are a supporter of another team. what I must say is though in a form of agreement, if you go on any other fans forums and dont act like an idiot slagging their team off but let them know you support an opposing team, I think the worst reaction comes from the Man Utd fans, I dont know why this is and some are ok but as well as the total we are the best and you lot are sh*te remarks, just reading what they say to each other you see they have very little respect for each others opinions and I would imagine if they talk to each other at matches the way they do on the Forums there would be more fights between their own supporters than them and rival fans. Maybe new bloke could give an opinion on this and its probobly half the reason he comes on here a lot which is a good thing. I am not a we are better than you type of supporter and can admit to any other teams good or bad points as I can Chelseas but on the Man Utd site its almost impossible to have any conversation without getting called a c**t or something similar which again is a shame as some of their supporters actually talk about the game. All in all we've got to thank God for Loz and the CSR best forum out ther.
  10. Very sad news, I feel for him and his family as do all Chelsea fans
  11. The pre season this time round was a lot of the reason we started slowly and we have never really hit top gear, probobly a lot to do with Sheva getting a shock at the pace of the game once the season started. I know its all for the marketing of the club but surely we need some real games against proper opposition to warm up and get the players in the mood.
  12. Agree with Moos to a point, UTD have been excellent so far and with the problems wehave had if we can close the gap a bit by may then I think we will have shown that however well they've played they only won it because of our difficulties. winning the CL would go a way to making me feel better but to be honest, given the choice the title would be my choice, CL and a cup nice bit of icing, the main thing is to close the gap and show our intent, make it a nervy run in for them and show we have the guts for the challenge, if we lose it let it be with our heads held high and finishing strongest.
  13. Billys jokes was brill, I recon he's the brains behind some of Kenyons deals
  14. Dont know if it's been posted before but have a look, looks like a happy family and a likeable kid. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2tjgqZHAPno
  15. Drogs has scored to make it 1-0 on the half time whistle
  16. Not according to their manager http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx?hli ... t+straight Loz if you expect me to believe him in front of our Manager then to be honest I have to admit..your right and I do:lol:
  17. I heard Mikel played with a calf injury and was ok but injured his ribs in the game
  18. If it were now and the rest of this season I would jump at the chance of him helping out but as far as a permanent move for him, I think with his injury record we could certainly do better. a great player though when he's fit.
  19. What was I thinking, Spurs to do us a favour, 0-3 down now and rolling over like the Spurs we all know so well
  20. You cant take into account the Refs decisions, Both teams could have had a Penalty but if you watch the Man Utd players reaction to not getting the Laarson one, you see why the ref gave Ronaldo one for his trademark Dive, Wilkins said no penalty in the studio but george Graham said penalty and his reason was "why was Malbranque going for the Ball" he admitted after that it was given because they never got the first but Its down to Nevilles persistent moaning to the Ref that they got the second in my mind. Hard work for Spurs now which is a shame because they were doing ok, This is one I expected Man Utd to drop a couple of points in and its a shame another Referees decision has changed the game.
  21. Berbatov is fit for today and I hope he plays, against Arsenal in the first leg of their CC game for ten minutes or so Spurs looked a good team, then Keane came on for Berbatov and they changed the system a bit and it was all downhill from there. I think if they attack hard and dont get picked off on the counter they might get the first goal and then hang on against a big onslaught for the next hour or so untill a late equaliser makes the gap at the top a shrinking 4 points, I'm going for a fiver on the 1-1 so an unusual chant will be heard in my House this afternoon, COME ON YOU SPURS
  22. Good to see a decent opposition fan on here mate, never seen a Blackburn fan on here myself, hope you stick around. I've got your boys to nick a point at old Trafford so I hope you find a bit of form, it looks to me like you've got some decent players and you just need to click, maybe Old Trafford will be the place
  23. Sorry Val, I really thought it looked better once you actually looked at the games and possibilities, I had UTD losing at Anfield but could only at best see a few Draws unless we beat them, Thats still the crunch match, If we do it I think we are in.
  24. You should do it Val, I was more pessimistic before I done it. Its given me a bit of hope, it helps you to see that there is a long way to go as well.
  25. F*ck. Poll the in black. Bad new`s.Concerned about this game. Yeah I make you right, it's a worrying game and not least because any more injuries would certainly put paid to our hopes for the title. Poll always worries me though...the Spuds game, the Henry quick free kick, he's always got to do something to get some attention, usually at our cost. still to be fair Blackburn have got their own problems and if we are gonna do it we've got to make a start tonight.
