  1. the way I look at it is what if they pay 25 mill for Hargreaves Fergie is looking like he's getting ripped off as much as Jose in the transfer market. I like to compare what we paid for Essien to their Carrick or Hargreaves signings

I dont think we would have to change our system to play Kaka, I think our system would be the same but we would have more creativity and more chance of a defense splitting pass here and there, obviously I think Sheva would benefit but I dont think it would be that much of a change to the way we play, ok Kaka is not gonna chase back and Harass people like Essien but how many defensive midfielders do we need? attack is a good form of defense and with Kaka at the front of the Diamond (where I would play Joey if he was fit) it may mean Ballack spends some time on the bench but with Lamps and Essien that to me sounds like the best of both worlds. If he came here I would like to see Bridge at LB as I feel he gets forward better than AC and Paulo would need permission to do the same as with the diamond the width needs to start from further back, all that said I doubt he's in our plans and I think Joey could do the Job anyway but he would be good for us in my opinion.

Welcome to the forum, I think we need a CB and striker (back up only as I believe Sheva will come good) a winger if SWP go's but not if he stays. my choice would be a good young CB like Curtis Davies from WBA and a proven EPL striker like Darren Bent. enjoy it here mate.
  4. Gutted for Sheva but still believe, he missed a chance and he won a penalty, never saw much else good or bad from him, the macclesfield game looked like one where he could fill his boots but he would have still needed the ball in a dangerous position more than twice to do it. yes he's out of form, yes he's out of luck but still I think he will come good. look at Larson for Man U today, he had a good game, he scored and he's 35. I think Sheva has proved what he is capable of and we just need things to happen for him. I know people will say he's had long enough but I dont think he has had long enough with the team playing to his strengths...ball in the box to his feet, crosses, through balls, passes to him when he makes the run? call me a dreamer but I still believe.
  5. I like the Rod Stewart Twisting the night away as well Elvis Costello-Good Year for the Roses was better than George Jones orig
  6. Shut up, now shut up shut up
  7. Rod's first four solo albums were all excellent. When I got my first wage packet, I went out and bought my first ever album, 'Never A Dull Moment' - liked it so much I bought 'Every Picture Tells A Story' the following week 8) Also loved the Faces albums, they were the first band I ever saw play live, at Sutton Granada in December '73 whats going on? the first Album I bought was never a dull moment and followed I cant remember in what order by Every picture tells a story, Pinups and alladin sane. I still like Rods later Atlantic Crossing, and even Human albums in fact I like most of his stuff but the early ones were best.
  8. good to see Lamps handing the armband to Bridgy who had a good game and is our best winger Glad Mikel had a more positive game not just the well taken goal but he defended quite well by the sound of it, I only heard it on the radio so its hard to judge but did Lamps play ok? shame we gave em a customary cosolation but a good run out for some youngsters although they got on late. I feel for Sheva who's confidence must be worse after this, maybe him and Kalou should stay behind for shooting practice after training for a couple of weeks. still we are still on the quad
  9. True we have learned that playing well under par for the first 16 games and having major injuries to important players gives other teams a chance but we enjoy it as a challenge is good for the soul
  10. I think Rod Stewart manages to improve on or at least equal a lot of covers and I loved What made milwalkee famous-Jerry Lee Lewis? and Angel-Hendrix, also liked Just Like a Woman-Dylan. Shame Rod done songs like Sailing and Do you think I'm Sexy as these are what all the Rod haters remember him for (and his Leopard Skin Strides) but I think he made some great albums.
  11. I think Bluebeards post about Stubborn Jose was spot on and he has to be blamed for a lot of our failings but like Bluebeard says he is still the best man for the job. wouldn't it be nice to see him send us out fully attack minded with sheva and Drogs in an attacking 4-4-2. I would just like to see it for a cople of games as I am sure with Sheva more forward than usual he would poach goals from Drogbas knockdowns and a bit of decent passing to feet into the box. in fact the only thing I was not sure of in Bluebeards post was Paulo as I think he was a good RB when he had a run in the team and is easily our best option there, in fact I think we need CB back up (and now I'm gonna mention Curtis Davies again) Striker back up and no one else unless SWP go's then obviously a winger.
  12. I just posted in another thread that I really cant put my finger on the problem, Your post has pretty much answered it for me as the more I read it the more I found my head nodding. Ta mate, now go and have a word with Jose
  13. Another horrible spectacle and the only pllayers that come out with credit for me were Drogba, Essien, Paulo, Sheva as he never got a pass, and Boula till he went off, What do you think we do on the training pitch? the players seem to have no idea where to put the ball for a runner. Lamps was so bad second half when he should be the one stepping up with no terry or Ballack, Drogba superb both ends and deserved a goal. otherwise though commitment was missing and desire was missing, I cant believe its happened again, I honestly thought we would get going in this easy game. I dont even know what I hope will happen next, usually you think you can see whats wrong and ways it might be fixed but apart from the obvious injury problems I just cant see why its so bad. a weird thing for me is a couple of games before we played Villa in the cup I was saying we are gonna start stuffing people soon, we had a couple of 4-0 results and I thought we were coming together as a unit, that form is miles away now and I cant put my finger on why?
  14. ...................................hilario ....PF....................Boula.....Ricky...............Bridge ...................................maka .........................essien........lamps .........SWP....................................... ................drogba...........Kalou..... I think this is the team for tonight, Hope they keep a clean sheet. Like to see Sheva come on and score obviously but pleased the defence looks like our most solid availlable.
  15. ...................................hilario ....PF....................Boula.....Ricky...............Bridge ...................................maka .........................essien........lamps .................................kalou ...........................sheva.....drogba Maybe later bring Sweepy on for Paulo with Ess doing his usual LB and stick Kalou and sweep on the wings in a 4-4-2
  16. Essien for me closely followed by Drogba and Terry. Riccy I would also like to mention as I always hated him playing when we had the other geezer here and now he's looking pretty assured..not yet as good but I am feeling more confident in him. I would also like to put Sheva somewhere in the middle if I was to try to rate the whole team as he is doing more than the press would have us believe.
  17. Essien looked ordinary in some games when he first arrived but there was always the workrate to fall back on, now he is always in the top three performers every match. Ballack has been suprisingly ordinary at best and I thought he would come alive in CL games but even when Frank was out last night, Michael never stepped up. I am gutted as I always thought a couple of proven big names might be just what Chelsea needed to go up that final level to CL greatness. I am dreading Makas decline as he looked a little bit slower last night and we just cant replace him, lets hope he just was having a day off and saving himself for OT.
  18. I loved PGA Tour golf on the Sega Megadrive, Sensible Soccer on the Amiga 1200, Bombermans worldon the Atari 65 xe, Boulderdash on the Commodore 64. Now I'm into Tiger Woods 07 on the X box 360. Fifas good as well.
  19. I was critical of Drogba's diving and theatrics last season but never said he was a bad player, sometimes his first touch was abysmal but I have got a collection of his Marsaille goals on my computer that I used to play here and there which made me think he had a lot more to give, I could see by the compilation that he did have a touch, did have pace and could score good goals from not always easy chances...what I couldn't see by the clips though was how he works for the team and how well he defends and motivates the players and the crowd. Jose I have often heard said (and agreed to some extent) is not a good judge of a player, well let me say With Diddy he certainly done his homework. Oh and while on the bad judge thing...when Tiago (great player) left and Essien came, UI couldn't understand the logic, I sort of do now though
  20. I know what your saying, I liked CR but he frustrated me every week with his curious decisions, I found myself more sorry for him than actually having faith he could win us things. with Jose sometimes I dont like what he says or does but usually decisions he makes (in the football not what he says after or before) proves me wrong, he will leave a player on when I am screaming to sub him and that player will turn the game when I least expect it. He takes players off when I think they are doing well and then the sub will score, he sets the team out with no width and they score goals. he sells players I love but they dont really come back and bite us in the arse like I predict. Jose at this present time is the best there is and if he believes in himself and his hype a little to much, it can only be good for Chelsea. Cheers
  21. I think if Jose left the only way we could become less hated would be to start losing more, most fans dislike clubs that are a threat to their own and we are second to none so are going to be disliked. the media in this country has always liked losers but it has turned into more than that with them, they hate everything about CFC and this has got worse every time the snyde remarks get rammed down their throats. I think the main gripe with opposition fans is the money...so if a new manager came in and Roman stayed then he would likely be hated too. I hope Jose stays as he brings success, I dont always agree with things he says and does but he is his own man and an obvious winner, long may he reign. if he leaves though I would love to see what Gullit could do with the players at his disposal this time.
  22. My kids are X Box 360 mad, the only game I can have a chance against them on is Tiger Woods, they slaughter me at footie games and I thought I was ok
  23. I've got a theory on this..............have you ever seen Brian and Anita out together? if so was either of them wearing a Hat or Head Scarf ? you know where this is going dont you? I think it could be they share a wig made up out of my Brothers last hair cut
  24. I think Frank maybe is due a well deserved rest....he is still influential to our game but not controlling the midfield...whether or not his role has slightly changed (Jose) or whether its just a case of too much football I dont know but I would not be adverse to seeing a Ballack Makalele Essien Cole midfield with two strikers and Frank on the bench just to see how we would play without him, Injury free as he usually is we have not seen how we perform without his influence. I would give Ballack he penalties or at least let them decide between them if one fancies it more than the other than so be it...not because Frank has missed a couple but because I just think Ballack is a better penalty taker. I think Frank will still pop in 8 or 10 goals by the end of the season but doubt he can score 18 or so, really shouldn't judge him on that though.
  25. I think it should be shared out a bit...Ballack should take more of the free kicks and whoever fancies it more....they should be able to work something out between them, I wouldn't worry about todays penalty miss by Lamps as he hit it well enough and you have to give the goalkeeper some credit for the save.
