  1. not much in it for me between Cashley Evra and Hienze but I would put Bridge ahead of all of them.
  2. I would take Neville at RB with Paulo low on confidence, Ronaldo would walk into any team and Vidic as backup for Carv/Terry. Its pushing it to say any of the others bar Shrek would even make our bench, the team of the season is a Joke.
  3. What chances? We didn't create much. The only two chances that I can think of is Lampards shot and Joes chance in the final minutes. Then we might have had a penalty as Carr (or was it Sibierski?) seemed to try and hug JT to death. Moos I said "chance today" as in the game itself, we just never looked like making a decent chance in the game, maybe Bridges shot could have at least tested the keeper and Joey might have got more of a touch on his attempt but we are clutching at straws, it was a bad performance.

while its only 3 points we have to believe, we must win all our games now and on todays showing thats a big ask but UTD never looked great yesterday so there is a chance, I have to say I would take the CL and FA Cup right now and call it a great season.
  5. What about Diarra? Btw. Why didn't Diarra play today? Better him than Ferreira Its hard as if I had have picked the team I would have picked Paulo, I was thinking Essien as a swap once it was obvious that Milner was having a good time out there, to be honest I think Diarra can do a job at RB but its not his best position and I am starting to think Ferreira is never going to find his early form with us. we might need a new RB after all.
  6. I dont like to hear Jose make excuses but he is only saying what we all think, UTD have always seemed to get the decisions but this season has been a lot more obvious. that said we should still have tken our chance today and Jose would not have needed to come across as a whinger
  7. maybe not the worst performance of the season but taking into account whats at stake, could well be... Lampard is far from his best this season but still has contributed so much with the goals that you just cant sub him or leave him out, Ballacks injury made it hard for Jose to use his subs as he may have intended if things were going bad. that said it was a lak lustre showing and in a game where I thought our boys would be right up for it? I thought Kalou was terrible in the first half and that Jose had made another special decision when he came out in the second half looking good for ten or fifteen minutes, Drogs was well shackled by taylor and even Titus had a good game Paulo was poor again and I am one of his admirers, I would have preferred Essien at RB and Boula in the CB position but that still would not have changed the result. I thought we could really pile on the pressure today but it never happened and Fergie must be rubbing his hands now with the cushion of goal average and the big let off to inspire his team. gutted but still a great season and a good time to be a Chelsea fan.
  8. very strange time to rest Rikky with JT not looking as sharo as usual, hope its not true
  9. I just hope we can underline that he's staying now, for a proud man and a man who could walk into a job anywhere to have kept his dignity and kept saying he loves Chelsea and wants to stay, he deserves proper respect, rewspect from the media and from Roman. We dont often play the way I personally would like to see us play and we dont go out to thrash teams when we are ahead but we win and we do it with not as little style as the press and opposition fans would have us believe, I am sure Jose will have us playing better stuff once we have the best players fit for a reasonable length of time and doubt many other managers would have had us doing so well this season with the injuries and the unrest we have had. a good thing for us if Jose is to stay but I am a bit worried about the thought of bringing someone else in with him, Clarkey is enough and I just cant see the thinking behind it.
  10. A good game to watch last night as Hammers tried to go for the win, Zamora and Tevez kept our defense on their toes first half and Bridgy was having a hard time, I think he recovered well and looked superb going forward (better than AC in my opinion). great to see Sweepy enjoying himself and he has looked better and better of late and I would love to see him given another season with us now. Drogs took his goal very well with a deft little touch before he nutmegged the keeper. JT has not been himself since the CC final and thats understandable but lets hope he is getting back with every game. Cech made the mistake and looked jittery uncharacteristicly for a while after but that should just wake him up a bit. Diarra RB when Paulo is in the squad? I still rate Ferreira and think he will get back to his best given the chance. good away win and although I bet on 0-5 at 11/1 I was very happy as West Ham played better than I expected first half. lets keep applying the pressure and see what happens
  11. I think he has had his best season for us and I believe it had as much to do with the fans favourite Gallas going which gave him confidence the CB position was rightfully his. He still tends to lunge and grab but less and he as I have always said is as good as anyone in his position. I think he is now an untouchable along with JT Cech Drogba, and Essien these would be the first 5 names if I wrote the teamsheet,
  12. A great day for us today and the best part is that Portsmouth actually deserved the win, ok a couple of offside decisions helped but they looked like they believed they could get something and that makes other teams less likely to roll over ala spurs when they conceded the dodgy penalty. Portsmouth were never outclassed and always looked a danger on the counter, David Moyes will expect at least a point from the home game against them and West Ham will be feeling good after keeping another clean sheet in their second win over Arsenal this season, we still have a chance and if we win all our games it surely will be enough. If we drop two points though I dread them getting it on their Goal Average, we wont think about that now though as this was what was needed and the sooner it happened the better, they played after we had got the three points and couldn't hack it, maybe the pressure will be too much and with Vidic out teams know they are not so tight at the back and not so intimidating on corners etc. nice to see Joey get another little run out today as well.
  13. While I agree that the team is capable of playing much prettier football I still think Jose is one of the best in the business and he given time would come up with a "happy medium", we could play better looking stuff if our flair player could stay fit long enough to get a decent run in the team and be on the same wavelength as the other players. Robben is so injury prone that he cant string a run of matches where he is on top of his game, Joey has been out most of the season, SWP has not established himself, Kalou does add something and should only get better. where is the flair going to come from without these players? hoofing to Drogba is horrible but effective and Sheva should get on the end of a few knockdowns playing like that but it is not pretty, Ballack and Lamps should be providing better passes to Sheva as well but it is not quite happening, I think with a fit Joey and Arjen or in form SWP for a run of matches we could see more attacking football but remembering the way these players have been in and out of the team just shows how well Jose has had us do with the players at our disposal. I think he deserves to see out his contract and if we are playing a mix of Jose's safe style and a prettier passing game by then he should get another 4 year contract, the man knows how to attack but his pedigree has been earned by winning and he has done it his way so why sack him when he is doing what got him the Job?
  14. Not a bad game and the opposition were pretty good, their goal was superb and we did really keep them to longshots mostly. Drogs has been a bit off and we will need him at his best for the return, Ballack surprised me and for the first time I would say he would rate over 7 in a team rating, good to see him and Sheva up for it. great to see Joe get a little run out too. theres still hope.
  15. Not good to watch but I shouted louder for the Kalou goal than I have all season, Ballack and Lamps looked lak lustre again and Mikel looked a class above them when he came on, Drogs is looking last season in the last couple of games and the thirty goal mark is looking like a weight on him. I think Sheva played ok and he is not muscled off the ball half as much as earlier in the season. Terry and Ricky done well against some tough physical threats and Paulo done a good enough job out of position. I bet on Man U 0 Blackburn 1 and thought the tide could start turning yesterday, how wrong was I? I just hope we push them all the way and if the gap is 3 points at the end, I think we will have done well. If we overturn them, Jose should have his contract extended and his wages doubled.
  16. It might not be all easy for us today, Watford will have nothing to lose, no real expectations and a way to earn some respect if they do well. I think Sheva has to play to keep his confidence building and to keep him in with the pace, would not surprise me if Drogs is on the bench and Kalou SWP and Sheva make up a front 3, Ballack Lamps and Mikel possibly with Diarra RC JT and AC. I will be going for 0-2 and 0-3 with Sheva first scorer.
  17. My first pair of Boots were Dunlop moulded studs but my favourite ever were the Addidas Hat tricks I had in the mid eighties, nice and soft so you could feel the ball like trainers My trainers at that time were niike wimbledon and Diadora gold which were dear then but Diadora seems to have fallen out of bed a bit now.
  18. http://members.lycos.co.uk/fsaccount/ pretty good site showing stadiums all over the world
  19. It seems insane that whatever differences Jose and Roman have they cant sort them out, both of these men are winners and both have big ego's but Romans ego should not blind him so much that he cant see, surely even with his limited knowledge of the game he has learned that it takes more than money to win the big competitions and 5 trophies already is a massive haul that would be hard to repeat for anybody coming in. Roman must have made big decisions in business that may have been dealing with people he could not be friendly with but still knew they had the wherewithall to do the job he was asking of them better than the next man. I still hope it gets sorted and Jose stays and although I often grit my teeth at our stifling play and yearn for more flair and entertainment, I still believe he is the best man for the job. Rijkard would be as bad an option as Sven for me but if Jose did go I would dearly like to see Gullit given another chance, two hopes of that and Bobs not about anymore so lets hope Roman takes Jose on a little cruise and they come back the best of buddies by the way my vote was in denial
  20. I think graham poll could well be hungry enough for a knuckle sandwich
  21. I think Loz has covered it mate, Cheers Loz and sorry Butch.
  22. cant send to that address? EDITED BY LOZ
  23. Steven Gerrard has been awarded the MBE. I know he has been good for Liverpool but surely there are more deserving candidates?
  24. good game and good result, Sweepy did what I hoped and repaid Jose's faith with a good all round display capped by a great goal, Sheva? the man still has the class and he proved it with a good performance and brilliant goal, the team played very well against a pretty good Spurs side who were up for this Cup. Mikel,Diarra, the futures bright blue.... Drogba again worked all over the pitch, no bad performances really and Ricky although it was a Pen still went for the ball and not the man. I'm happy with that and the missus had a fiver on it
  25. I never saw the tips for this and me and the missus have gone 0-3 and 1-2 respectively, only a fiver a time though. come on you Blues
