I think Chelsea let these rumours go on so long because they dont have a Marquee signing lined up at all, or if they did it fell through long ago. By letting the rumour go on it leads us (the fans) to believe that the club are working hard behind closed doors on bringing in someone we can all get excited about. I fully expect someone from chelsea to come out in a week or two and say there wont be any signings and the new contracts of Drogba and Malouda are the real Marquee signing of the summer or some other bullsh*t along those lines.

I agree with BJD, i am more than a little worried that Carlo like big phil doesnt have a plan B. We will play teams like stoke that will just come to the bridge and flood the midfield and stop the ball going through the middle.

Could this be a not so clever ploy by Kenyon?! Tells the manager to go and we will not be signing anymore players and then a day or two before the window closes (It seems Kenyon loves to leave it to the last minute) make an offer for a "big Star". Im not saying that this will happen, its just a thought.

I think people forget that when Drogba had his best season with us was the season he was playing up front with Sheva. I think dont think it would hurt to keep Sheva around if we dont bring anyone else in.

Munich are saying they want 100 euros for ribery so the only truth i can see in that story in about Pirlo coming in.

Drogba didnt play much last season and Anekla ended up golden boot so im not that worried about it. We may have to change our style a bit but there are other players that i am worried about doing without.

Its in the press that Munich want the same that Madrid paid for Ronaldo for Ribery. I cant see Roman paying that for anyone.

My original point was i would rather have Gattuso than Pirlo.

Yes we wouldnt need Gattuso if Essien and Mikel wasnt going on internation duty in jan for the africans cup. but we will be with out them for a good few weeks so we need someone to guard the back 4 and Gattuso would do a better job than Pirlo.

I would rather have Gattuso than Pirlo, He would be cheaper and would fit the holding midfielder role and he can speak good english already having played in the UK before.

I was thinking the same thing myself today, Not heard anything in the gossip pages even. Maybe the board at waiting for the US tour to be over and the manger to have a better idea of what we need if anything. I would like to see another new face.

I think we could get a few million for Pizzaro but i can only see Sheva going out on loan again.

I would be very unhappy if Coley was sold. He is one of those players who can open the door with a bit of skill or a deadly pass. His pass to Drogba against Valencia (i believe) was outstanding.

We should never have hired him in the first place

for the right price i would. Although he cant play every game in the season it seems, the ones he does play he makes a huge impact. I cant see the deal happening tho.

I really rate Sinclair. I think if he is given half a chance he could prove to be a good player for Chelsea.

I cant see us signing Villa and im not holding out much hope for Aguero either. Both players would cost 30 plus million i think and i dont think Roman will pay that much anymore. Not only that i have very little faith in Kenyon.

I totally agree, Veron and Crespo went on frees after loaning them out for the remander of their contracts. Chelsea have wasted so much money over the last 5 years or so.
