Short term solution to a long term problem. I still believe Lukaku should have been given the nod to lead the line. We've done all right over the last two seasons with a ineffective number 9 and I'm convinced RL would deliver 20 goals + if given the chance. Returning to the policy of signing ageing stars is a giant step backwards in my opinion and I can see a repeat of the Sturridge situation looming with Lukaku looking for game time elsewhere.

Reckon last night's selection was more a message to Rooney; with Ramires and Lamps playing deep in front of the back four we were very compact. Moyes done us a favour taking Valencia off.
