  1. Errr...my mum doesn't let me play out, read papers or watch telly. So please enlighten me Clubhappy.
  2. Reasonable? You're either being ironic or damned hard to impress!
  3. Anyway, Cyberworm 314, thanks for completely frying my brain on a Sunday morning, with your endless poll permutations. I now barely have enough grey matter left to coordinate eating my egg'n'bacon, which is now dribbling in very unsexy fashion down my chin and onto my lap. I'm praying there aren't another 313 uber-geeks out there, spawned by John Motson! Personally I'd play SWP as central striker, with you in the hole and JT with the shovel.
  4. Hey! What do you think you're doing? Outing me by using my real name!
  5. There may be trouble ahead for you by only asking this question of "gentlemen" only! Still, what do girls know about football? They only watch it for all those pumping thighs, eh ladies? (and Brian M!)
  6. I know he's just back from injury but it would be nice to see JT occasionally pick up the ball and surge foward, as he does for us. It gets the crowd going and lifts the team too. He just seemed a little subdued to me last night.
  7. I agree in part but, then again, the international experience will be an important part of his overall development. We'll lose him for a month but we have Diarra, Sidwell and an up and coming young player called Ballack to cover.
  8. I think Carlton Palmer's recall is also way overdue I remember a newspaper report, which read something like: "Palmer picked up the ball in the centre-circle and went on a storming run, during which he beat four players (including two from his own side), finally ending up in exactly the same spot at which the run started. Even the opposing supporters cheered!" Priceless.
  9. After the day I've been having today, I quite identify with his problems I was about to post something similar but add "skint" into the equation!

Do the Welsh wonders "Goldie Lookin' Chain" count as metal?
  11. A good friend of mine tried to get me into them years ago but I felt conned when they weren't at all funky!
  12. Aaargh!! Can't handle much more of the biased BBC radio commentary. Mark Lawrenson is a complete tw*t (but we knew that anyway).
  13. probably several more until Alves arrives and we have a RB that is favored by Jose, and until we get Carvalho and Terry to play a game together at the same time. until then, expect more of the same. I don't think Alves is much of a solution defensively. Let's hope Jose works his usual half-time magic and also introduces a bit of creativity and passion, in the shape of Joe Cole.
  14. And why would i want to see that? Being a masochist I had to watch it! Awful stuff.
  15. That was a passable impression of Boula by Ben Haim! How many more avoidable goals are we going to concede?
  16. Thanks Loz. I'll take that as a compliment then!
  17. I was fortunate enough to work with Tony Wilson for a couple of days in the early nineties, filming the opening credits for a game show called Remote Control, which seriously bombed in the ratings, as I recall. He came with a reputation for being awkward to work with but I found him fun, charming and polite. A real gent.
  18. Let him go. He's largely lost his goal touch, defenders are familiar with his trickery and he'd be out for three months if he tripped over a water bottle. Malouda is an unknown quantity for full-backs to come to terms with, looks far sturdier and packs a real punch.
  19. Probably Fabregas, young as he is. Ray Wilkins says he's the best young player he's ever seen, so maybe he'll captain them in his teens as Butch did us (that would really upset Gallas!)
  20. Apparently Torres is always squandering penalties and is also known to miss lots of sitters.
  21. As someone who also makes money (occasionally) as a freelance marketer, I can only say that all change is good!
  22. Is that another idea for a screenplay?! What's Cantonese for Die Hard 5?
  23. I don't remember him showing that sort of urgency during his last couple of seasons with us!
