  1. I know nothing about film/advertising but the youtube video is awesome with Mourinho doing the voiceover.
  2. I like the home kit personally. Generally Adidas have done a great job on our home kits except for the one that we won the double in which looked more cycling top to me than a football shirt! Goalie Kit: I'd rather that it wasn't red. To me, a Chelsea player shouldn't wear red. But I can live with it. On a separate note, who've you even buy the kit any more? I'm 24 now and haven't bought a kit since 2009 and haven't worn it to a game since 2010. Main reasons for this are being able to go out elsewhere after the game and also not wanting to make myself into a target, particularly away from home. I'll wear my 05/06 home top around the house now and then and if I'm watching a big game at home. But as far as buying the kit is concerned I don't see the point for me.
  3. I don't think the significance of that can be stated enough. Before the season I'd have taken 2nd in the league, QF of the CL and a run in one of the cups. I don't think we quite established the latter but otherwise I'm fairly happy with events thus far. Seeing how our defence has improved has really pleased me, as has the addition of a real defensive midfielder and the improvement of our counter attacking play. There are still things we need to improve substantially though; ruthlessness in front of goal (not just for the strikers), the ability to break down an opposition defending deep and consistently maintaining the right mindframe through 90 minutes of every game.
  4. In fairness to Bosingwa he was decent in the Champions League Final, but other than that and a wonder goal against Norwich he was horrific.
  5. Torres was abysmal on the weekend, like he has been for the majority of his 3 years here. Can you really blame people for venting their frustrations at him, especially in a game where we had no threat up front (yet again) ? Further to the PSG game, it's going to be really tight. It's a 50/50 in my eyes as to who goes through. I'm confident that we'll bounce back in midweek, we seem to up our game a lot for the big ones. I think it'll be 1-1 in Paris and then we'll edge them at home.
  6. SkyBet have suspended the market on Costa to Chelsea, all over twitter earlier today...
  7. Apparently it was a group of guys out and about in Prague on the day we played the SuperCup in August.
  8. To be honest I can't believe that Bosingwa managed to survive here for 4 years. He's probably the worst right back I've seen play for us in my 24 years so far on this earth. He was shocking defensively and for a supposed attacking full back/auxiliary winger he didn't impress me at all in attack.
  9. I think we have to sign Shaw. He's quality and Chelsea born and bred. Potential to be a real leader for the next decade. Barkley alongside Matic could be potentially brilliant. I could see them complementing each other very well.
  10. Lots of people in my office still think that the Mourinho factor will be enough to win us the league. I just can't see it to be quite honest, and quite frankly haven't seen us winning the title at any point. Back in August I thought we'd be close up til April and then fall away once our lack of ruthlessness and striking incompetence caught up. Looks like I'm being proven right. Is there even a realistic scenario in which we can win it? I gues we need 6 wins from 6 to have any hope, and even then we'd need a draw in the Liverpool City game and to have Everton beat City? Is that right?
  11. Does anyone know the story behind Chelsea Alouette? Heard it in the Slug in Clapham after the Palace game and have always wondered where it originates from.
  12. My thoughts exactly. Title's over in my eyes. Really hoping City win it now.
  13. Great point. They've pretty much wasted £70 million on 2 players that don't even fit the way they play. Had they been more prudent financially and considered in their selections they could have spent that money on, say, 4 players who fit the team. I guarantee you they'd be far closer to 4th than they are now.
  14. Take your point mate but I fear that the ejaculation of emotion from the media, coupled with the reaction from their obnoxious fans, would be utterly insufferable. And it would go on for months.
  15. Cheers mate, appreciate the help.
  16. Agreed RCF, I've never realistically thought that we would win it. Before the season I thought we'd come 2nd or 3rd and I'll stick by that. After the Spurs game I started to believe a little bit but wasn't at all suprised to see Villa bring us all back to earth. As you say, it's so frustrating that we aren't clear by 5-6 points. There have been so many games where we just haven't applied ourselves properly and suffered as a result. But then Man City could say that about the majority of their away games too.
  17. http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/mar/27/manchester-united-plane-message-david-moyes-sacked?CMP=twt_gu So United's fans are trying to raise enough money to fly a 'Moyes Out' banner over OT on the weekend. This I want to see!
  18. Moyes won't go until the summer, if he does at all. If Moyes is sacked now, the club will just be thrown into more disarray and who's to say things won't get worse? No manager would come in now given with the end-of-season run about to start.
  19. Hey guys, Off to South London on Saturday. Does anyone know what the away-friendly pubs are around there where our fans will be? Thanks!
  20. I would suggest that you go to Fulham Broadway and to either Brogan's or the Broadway Bar and Grill. The Pelican would have it too.
  21. And pay an extortionate admin fee on top of face value. I had to pay about £80 for Spurs in the Shed Upper when face value is £60. But then I did get it 2 weeks before the game.
  22. When I was a teenager I had a few kits which I've since given away. Now I just couldn't bring myself to put on another kit, certainly not a rival and even if I had to chuck on a Milan top or something in a kickabout it would just feel odd. Regarding the principle of having a second team: I'd say that I have a passive interest for AFC Wimbledon as they are the team closest to me geographically and I go to watch them a couple of times a season. But I'd never refer to them as 'we' in the way that I do Chelsea. My best mate who is Chelsea first and foremost takes AFC more seriously than I do and regularly refers to them as 'we' which I just find really weird, just doesn't sound right even though I don't have an issue with having a second team at all.
  23. If Luiz can keep this up then Mikel will become expendable in my eyes. We already have Matic, Ramires, Lampard and Van Ginkel to come back as well. I say we cut our losses with Mikel and move Luiz permanently to midfield.
  24. GK – Not sure really, there hasn’t been a standout keeper this year in my opinion. Cech has been solid so I might go with him. RB – Ivanovic or Coleman, I’d give it to Coleman to be honest. CB – 2 from Terry, Cahill, Koscielny and Distin. I’d go with Terry and Koscielny. LB – Dave, Dave and Dave. Honourable mentions to Luke Shaw and Leighton Baines. CM – Toure and Gerrard. Ramsey would be in ahead of Gerrard but isn’t due to his injury. Henderson’s close. AM’s – Hazard, Suarez and Aguero. I know the latter two are strikers strictly speaking but on performance they deserve to be in. Lallana’s not too far off. CF – Sturridge.
  25. Why is Moyes on the list? For the lols?
