  1. If Bale becomes available then we should push the boat out in order to sign him. Otherwise Griezmann.
  2. Back to the topic.... Amazed we let Robben go. Fabulous player. And still think we were daft to sell De Bruyne and Mata. Even worse when we’ve replaced them with the likes of Cuadrado. What’s that about?
  3. In case you were wondering... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3062484/Petr-Cech-receive-winner-s-medal-Chelsea-clinch-title.html
  4. Hazard subdued after a nasty challenge by Cambiasso. Terry scored a crucial second. But Willian stood out for me.
  5. The assault on Oscar was reckless and dangerous. Amazed it wasn't given. Don't know what the referee was thinking. Also surprised our medical staff allowed him to carry on playing. Thought there were guidelines about players with head injuries. As for the match, a great result under the circumstances. No fit strikers but held our own against an in-form Arsenal side and were disciplined and controlled throughout. They fluffed their chances but we had arguably the best chance of the game with Ramires. Defenders were all excellent as were Ramires and Willian. Hazard was subdued. Thought we could've done with Costa or Remy today. Hopefully next season we’ll go into the campaign with more options upfront. In a way were lucky we're not still in the Champions League. Two strikers and an ageing warhorse will just get us over the line. Not that I begrudge Drogba anything. Nearly there....
  6. Very frank, if surprising, assessment from Jose. Doesn't leave much room for doubt as to what Jose thinks right now of Oscar. Jose is rapidly becoming the Ruthless One.
  7. Was actually quite shocked at how poor Cuadrado was against Stoke. Looked utterly petrified. As if he's never played a senior game of football in his life. For 24 million you expect a basic level of competence and composure. Am sure he was signed in January as a rotation option with the expectation we were going to progress into the latter stages of the Champions League. We offloaded Schurrle and Salah with full expectation that Cuadrado was going to start a fair number of games. Otherwise it makes no sense that we would deliberately weaken the squad in this way. It didn't take Jose long however to lower all our expectations and claim that Cuadrado was not going to be ready till next season! It's maybe a blessing we got knocked out of the Champions League in retrospect. Got to ask why on earth our scouting/board assessment was that Cuadrado was ready to play a crucial role in the season run in. Clearly, Jose took one look at him and decided otherwise. Sounds like the whole thing was a total cock up if you ask me.
  8. “Asked whether Oscar is struggling, as he was substituted at half-time against Stoke City, Mourinho said: ‘No, I don’t think he had a bad performance, I just think he was not good enough, which is a huge difference.” Hope that’s clear then... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3026807/Cesc-Fabregas-Oscar-Nemanja-Matic-struggling-Chelsea-boss-Jose-Mourinho-backs-midfield-trio.html
  9. It makes you wonder just how much consideration goes into our transfer targets then. If I remember right the Salah deal was a bit of a rushed buy. I just hope we've given some thought as to the role Cuadrado is going to play in our team. If the problem we face is playing against deep defensive lines, then is Cuadrado the man to unlock Premier League defences if he hasn't faced such defensive set-ups in Italy?
  10. Clearly Salah's time at Chelsea wasn't totally wasted as we've created a genuine star in Italy. Good luck to him. We're clearly doing something right. Nice to see De Bruyne is flourishing in Germany as is Schurrle. We should be proud that we've become a feeder club for middle ranking European sides. Such a pity that Cuadrado hasn't lived up to his price tag though. Very embarrassing that he needs a preseason to settle down and look like a footballer who has the faintest clue. Somebody ought to tell Salah to stop messing about and wait till next season before showing what he can do. It's just not fair to hit the ground running like that.
  11. Hazard by a distance. Credit to Willian and Remy too. Thought Fabregas looked sharp until he got elbow-smashed by Adam.
  12. We worked hard for that. Hazard was world class. Willian was terrific. Credit to Remy who chipped in again. I know it's early in his time here but Cuadrado looks terrible and scared to death out there. Just incredible we sold Schurrle. What were we thinking? Anyway, three crucial points. It's going to be a long slow crawl. We really shouldn't blow it from here. But the Costa injury isn't helping.
  13. Thought we played well - for the first ten minutes. Then Hull decided to stick to their game plan and take advantage of our lumbering pace at the back. Ivanovic just looked dazed and Cahill made a case for why Zouma needs to start ahead of him. Courtois not helped by the clowns in front of him. Still should've whacked it away. Thought Hazard, Costa and Fabregas started brightly. But our defence is going from looking vulnerable most of the season to a real liability now. Can't think of a positive thing to say about Willian, Ramires or Oscar. Except for Willian’s assist. Maybe they're all playing with injuries. I'm trying to be kind. Three points scrambled in the end. Thank you, Loic Remy. That could prove a valuable goal.
  14. Lethargic, sloppy first half. Very lucky to be level at h/t. Much better second half. Showed desire, everyone seemed to be awake and full of running. Even Oscar. Unlucky not to get a second. So we're not that tired then. Just playing poorly and without belief. Now hope we can build on that second half performance for the run in. Because if we play like we did first half then we'll be lucky to scrape over the line.
  15. We clearly set up to play for 0-0. Once the ref inexplicably sent off Ibrahimovic we just didn't seem to know how to react. So we did nothing. Our attitude was we could contain them better now they were playing with only ten men. Clearly we'd spent a week practising to contain them, sneak a 0-0, not try and actually do anything drastic like take the game to them. From the way we were strolling around you could tell we were happy to try and scrape through 0-0. Then Cahill went and scored and it was all downhill from there. Hopefully Cahill will get a right bollocking for messing up Jose's masterplan.
  16. We get half a season from Oscar, Willian and Fabregas. So we just need to sign three players for the other half. Ramires isn't worth bothering with. Especially as we let go of Schurrle and De Bruyne who are much more talented.
  17. Courtois. Made some important saves. The fact we didn't concede was down to him. Can't really fault our defence. They really put in a shift. Wish I could say the same for our midfield. Hazard was our best outfield player again. It's crazy how dependent we are on him. Just wish the others would step up.
  18. Considering our entire midfield went AWOL and Zouma was playing out of position, it's a miracle we managed to keep a clean sheet. Credit to our defence and Courtois. They got us the three points. Up front only Hazard is performing at anywhere near his best. Thank God we're getting Matic back.
  19. Twice in a week we've conceded from a header at close range. Also, Jose was about to bring Cahill on for Costa then changed his mind. Don't know if we just lost concentration. Still should've buried the game long before it became an issue.
  20. Grateful for the win but that was a lot more tense than it needed to be. Mystified why Remy didn't start. Bit sad to see Drogba looking so lost on the pitch while the game just passes him by. He's 36 I guess. Don't know what Oscar’s excuse is though. He's looked out of sorts for a while and is lucky he's not got much competition for his place. Willian, Hazard and Matic stood out for me. Although Hazard faded after he got kicked once too often. The kid gets no protection from the refs. It's outrageous really. Anyway, good win especially as City drew. Can't wait to see Costa and Fabregas return though.
  21. Pity we couldn't hang on to the lead till half-time. Would've made for an interesting second half. Happy with the draw considering the game in midweek, the absence of Costa and Fabregas; plus some tired/injured players out there. Cuadrado will be a welcome addition.
  22. Cuadrado is an upgrade on Salah no question. Just hope we don't ditch Schurrle as the boy knows how to find the back of the net.
  23. Zouma impressed me again. Ivanovic was terrific. Courtois made two important saves. But Hazard was just on another level.
  24. Shocking result and, from the commentary, a complacent and inept display. Getting stuffed by Spurs is one thing. But getting outclassed and demolished by Bradford at home, has got to be some kind of low. Jose might have thought we would cruise it with our second string but when that includes the likes of Mikel, Salah, Drogba and an unfit Ramires and Azpilicueta, then maybe we just pushed our luck. Maybe starting with Ake and Loftus Cheek over Mikel and Salah might have made a difference. But that would be one risk too many for Jose.
  25. One Juan Cuadrado at 26m would cost less than what we spent on Marko Marin, Victor Moses and Mo Salah combined. At least with Cuadrado he might actually play for us.
