Racist gesture towards Welbeck
There is something strange about it. In the Mirror report it said something like "incredibly, some Chelsea supporters went on internet chat rooms claiming he was a plant from the media". I'm not saying that is the case, but it would hardly be out of character for the media to do something like that would it? The created a fake football agent to smear the name and integrity of Sven Goran Eriksson.

Racist gesture towards Welbeck
How comes the guy had a complete skin head at the game on Wednesday.....yet when the Daily Mirror photographed him at his home the following day, he had quite a bit of hair on his head (looks around a number three haircut to me)? Something odd about that....unless he can grow hair like Richard Keyes who can grow arm hair inadvertantly when he is straining for a poo.

The Best Chelsea Comeback of All Time?
Vicenza in 98' was a goodun'. Once they scored, we needed 3 goals in just over 45 minutes and we got them.

Drogba replaces Zola as greatest player ever
Does anyone else think the club selected this list themselves rather than asking 20,000 fans as they suggest? Who were the 20,000 they asked? I wasn't and I've had a season ticket for years. I don't believe it as they have several pre-war players in there. Whilst a player like George Mills fully deserves to be in there, I just don't think if they asked a random 20,000 either at the stadium or on-line that many people would mention his name. A lot of people wouldn't know who he is as it was so long ago. You'd have to ask a very specific demographic of people to achieve such a list of players. Views?

Chelsea v Manchester Utd (LC) 31/10/12 KO 19:45 GMT
Chelsea fans last night were singing "you only live round the corner" to the United masses.....then I looked around the stadium and saw the banners on the stand: "Kerry Blues", "Waterford Blues", "Texas Blues", "lincolnshire Blues".....it made me laugh but obviously made a mockery of the song. Modern football I guess.

Following our nearest and dearest rivals
You don't think Arsenal have had the players to have won one domestic trophy in the last 7/8 years then? They're not going to win the Premier League and probably not the Champion's League any time soon.....so the height of their ambitions is to finish 4th every year. Must be pretty depressing for their fans paying some of the highest ticket prices in the world.....supporting the third most successful club in English football history.

Following our nearest and dearest rivals
What does everyone make of Wenger's comments at their meeting the other day? That fourth place is like a trophy. I personally think he has done well to consolodate a top four place year after year whilst they sell his top players.....but then feel he has made mistakes in the cups (playing his reserves in the final of the League Cup in 2007 against us for example.....come on, you're in the final you gimp!). I understand his comment on a Champion's League spot attracting top players more than a League Cup might.....but he isn't going for to end players anyway. Qualification also didn't stop his top players leaving....they just went to other clubs also in the CL. And what do they do when they get in the CL anyway? They get out of their easyish group (a result of being a top seed in a heavily seeded tournament)....then they get dumped out by the first good side they play. Year after year. Whoopee sh*t. You don't get an open top bus parade for that.

Torres - The "Groundhog Day" Thread
I still think he would have scored more playing for Chelsea in all those matches (not that I think Holt is amazing....ha ha....just using him as the first example that came into my head). The pressure comes with being at a top club on top wages. There is pressure on all of them to perform and if you're not doing it, you shouldn't be in the team.

Torres - The "Groundhog Day" Thread
Yes, he has improved under Di Matteo but he'd have been hard pressed to get any worse. I was starting to feel more confident after the start to this season with him averaging a 1 in 2 ratio....but moments against Shaktar when he kept losing possesion.....or against Spurs when we worked the ball out wide and he didn't bust a gut to get into the six yard box....well, it made me think it's time to cut out losses and get rid. I'd like to see him spending less time going out wide....we have the three behind him to do that. The run Mata made for his second goal against Spurs (whilst Torres was standing still) was exactly the kind of run Torres used to make whilst playing for Liverpool. Actually, I recently saw his goal against us for Liverpool in the CL semi in 2008 (I think Benayoun put him through). It was the exact kind of movement, off the shoulder of the last defender, that seems to have deserted him at Chelsea.

Torres - The "Groundhog Day" Thread
But the thread was only started cause of his multitude of other abject performances. As others have said, he has his moments....but just isnt doing enough. I've never been compelled to comment on this thread before but I thought the Shaktar performance was awful. Yeah, the whole team wasn't great, but I thought he was noticably bad, not for the first time. He isn't getting into dangerous positions enough. 18 goals in 80 games playing centre forward is pretty poor - especially for a top team like Chelsea. Quite a few of those 18 have come against sh*te opposition as well. 7 of them against Genk, Leicester and QPR off the top of my head (please don't point out "but he scored against Arsenal and Barca!"....I'm fully aware of that). If Chelsea had played with, say, someone like Grant Holt in all of those 80 games Fernando had played, do you think he'd have more than 18 goals? Serious question.

Torres absolutely stunk the place out against Shaktar. A truly abject performance.

Everton and the League Cup....
Their approach to the league cup baffles me too. They prioritise the league just to finish about 7th every season. I bet their fans would prefer the league cup and to finish 12th. If you're competing for the major honours then it's more understandable but Everton have won one trophy since 1987.

How many home ends you been in?
Me and some other Chelsea....I reckon we were about 100 handed.....sauntered into the Kop.....my mate had a samurai knife concealed in a BLT baguette.....and I had a boxing glove on with a horse shoe in it. We piled in there with me leading the charge......windmilling my way through a sea of mustachioed Scaaaaaarsers. Needless to say we cleared the Kop. 100 of us.....and they were probably a mob of around 20,000......yet they still pebble dashed their shoplifted Lacoste pants and scarpered.....we totally scattered them. Then we watched the game in our Pringle jumpers, Adidas Sambas and Fila undergarments......and whenever any Scousers approached, we scared them off with ninja stars and hot Bovril. Then....about 20 minutes into the game, one Scouser (their top boy if memory serves me correctly....Scouse Bazza I think his name was. You could spot him from a mile off as he was always accompanied by two white panthers) identified me as the pwoper nawty ring leader and approached me.......like all Liverpool fans, he was dressed in full Liverpool kit with Crown Paints on the front.......I thought it was gonna kick off.....but when he came right up close and personal, he was intimidated by my wedge haircut and ran away. This cemented my status as the top boy. Nah, not really......I think I've been reading too many Cass Pennant books from the fiction section of Waterstones. I've sat in the other club's section a few times and thoroughly hated it. I'd rather not go than watch it in their end. It's horrible.

Are you afraid of bad times?
I've seen us win everything now so am not too concerned. If we turn sh*t, we turn sh*t....I'll still go to the Bridge and I'll still enjoy it.

Steven Gerrard is not the messiah
Yeah, I guess that probably is the reason.....but then it isn't Gerrard's fault people constantly want to draw parallels between the two. "Who is better? Lampard or Gerrard?" is such a boring conundrum. People can't seem to accept they're both good players and leave it at that.
-
Steven Gerrard is not the messiah
I dunno about that. He's won quite a bit hasn't he? 2 FA Cups, 3 League Cups (I think), a Champion's League, a UEFA Cup and a European Super Cup. Not a bad hawl in Liverpool sides nowhere near as good as their vintage sides of the 70's and 80's. The only things missing from his c.v. are the league title.....but no Liverpool player has achieved that since 1990.....and of course a major honour with England....and England haven't won anything in nearly 50 years. I don't really get a lot of the dislike for him on here. Whenever I hear him speak, he is far too bland to even provoke any sort of opinion on him. The man could send a glass eye to sleep. One thing you can't deny is that he has been a great player for Liverpool....although for sure, he would have had a better career if he had moved to Chelsea when he had the chance.

oh dear...ex-Chelsea employee talking sh*te re. Liverpool
Mourinho's Inter battered Barca in the first leg of their 2010 CL semi-final in the San Siro. And of course Jose's Chelsea scored 4 goals against them at home in 2005. He sits deep against them away but so what? More-or-less every manager adopts those tactics in the Nou Camp. In 2010 they were reduced to 10 men early on as well. What is the point of playing expansively at Barcelona and gettered slaughtered?

A move from Stamford Bridge
Regarding Liverpool's increase in capacity, does anyone know how they're doing it? Are they upgrading every stand or just a couple?
-
oh dear...ex-Chelsea employee talking sh*te re. Liverpool
We all know that is bitter nonsense though don't we? People mistake a solid defence for being boring.....totally ignoring the amount of times a Mourinho team has torn the opposition apart with attacking football. Look how many goals Real scored last year....yet people still accuse him of anti-football. Morons. This guy is asking for ridicule saying Rodgers is better than Jose and Carlo. An absolutely farcical thing to say.

A move from Stamford Bridge
They said this before when more and more games were televised.....but it had the adverse affect. Football attendances have increased greatly since the early 90's.

A move from Stamford Bridge
Of course, you'd prefer to play in a bigger and better stadium.....but as I said, there are more imortant things. You say it is 'so tight', but I think ultimately, money talks. I actually think the location of a stadium is just as, if not more important than the stadium itself when it comes to a player's choice. If I were a player (with no affinity to either club), I would rather live in London and play at the antiquated Loftus Road for QPR than for Sunderland at the Stadium of Light. I wouldn't want to live in Sunderland. Chelsea have the advantage of being a London club.....in one of the better areas. And what you dream of when you're a kid is often immaterial when you're older. Your priorities change.

Vintage Blues pictures and film
Nice goal from Peter Osgood on 4 minutes. Hadn't seen this one before.
