I dont understand how you guys can even think that mikel deserves to be one of the 2 holding midfielders His technique is bad , and his tackling / interception is average at best He has been here for about 9 years, but he hasnt controlled any game like a DM is supposed to , just remember how essien / makalele used to play , now thats a real DM! He looks up and plays the pass too late , everyone knows that With that being said , after he was insulted by AVB last year , under robbie di , he showed great performances , much like kalou when we needed it the most, in the champions league I just think he needs to be managed/motivated correctly , he has the build and everything that you require to be a top DM , just needs to be corrected imo , else he can move on , he has been here way too long

Why is mikel even playing ? By far the worst player ive ever seen in that holding position , sigh AFCON was a blessing

FSW is always wrong , like almost always But usually and traditionally over the years , brazillians have this knack of slacking over in winter because of the extreme climate changes , that could be a reason Luiz and Ramires showed no signs of this because of their portugal experience , perhaps this could be playing a factor ?

Oscar controls the midfield , dictates play! The others are just wingers who do fancy things when given the ball , as simple as that! Oscar also is very good at finding gaps between the defensive midfield players and the centre backs , most of the goals he scores or most of the assists he gives are from those areas because he is very adept and agile Brilliant signing , because apart from mata last season , i dont think anyone in the squad can actually play that role Now we have hazard , oscar and marin , and mata! Oscar , ive seen in like 3-4 internationals , and hes really really good on the ball , like unbelievably good , and even though he isnt physical , hes kinda like ramires , they have strength , but it doesnt show , he can shield the ball way better than many players like mikel

Ive seen enough of gregory van der wiel to say that he isnt that great this isnt a knee jerk reaction to his performance today because we all know it was bogus But his technique , his touches , were all wrong throughout , it was just that during the 2010 WC , he had great cover like De Jong , Van Bommel to fill in when he attacked even though he wasnt really needed in the attack , because the dutch dont really play the crossing game He isnt that great at reading or defensive abilities either , would take Ivanovic atleast 1000 times over this kid. Not good enough for chelsea.

Mikel for me Broke up games , and its often frigtening to play against spurs when you are a slow CDM But he made it up in positioning , really excellent play , he overturned his own season! :)

I really think the club can considering re-signing Ballack just like how MUFC resigned scholes To me , those signings work better than having hopes on someone young who cannot bear the spotlight , and fails. Ballack is such a boss , his passing is clever , and he just dominates the midfield

Mikel / Bertrand for me Bertrand was so epic, if he plays like that , i doubt Ashley will be comfortable coming back.

Mikel is playing well , reality hit him hard i guess. Raul Meireles was so horrible , my eyes are bleeding watching him play . Kalou gets involved well , but if we want anything good to happen from an attack which starts with Kalou , we should hope that it rebounds twice and falls in our players path >< Lamps for Meireles . Studge for Kalou

You can call Essien , Lamps deadwood -- But their the classiest midfielders chelsea have atm. What they might not have in pace , they make up for with tons of experience !
