Done deal according to Daily Mail and quite a few brazilians on twitter. 20 year old playmaker who could fill a role as one of the two in a double pivot. Will mean certainly mean that we have pulled out of the Modric-race.

Who?

Must admit that I don't know much about him, but apparently he's the only player ever to have scored a hat trick in an U-20 World Cup final.

Good reading there.

Thing is, with his passing skills (if the above article is accurate) would he be brought in for the double pivot? It says above he regularly drops deep to build play, isn't that the reason we had interest in modric, play from deep, link defence to attack with his passing skills. Sounds Oscar has comparable passing skills, and he was to be modric's replacement at tottenham after all. Can't say I have seen him play, or heard much of him up until this week!

Modric can play anywhere in the middle tbh.

I think this kid can as well.

May well turn out to be better and hes much younger.

We will be younger than arsenal soon!

Interesting if true but would hardly call it a done deal. I think a number of us saw that Argentina v Brazil game. Great game for neutrals who want a bit of razzle dazzle with zero defence but its a long long way from there to grinding it out in the premier league up at newcastle in the January snow. Dont get me wrong I like Oscar.

I have started to hear a lot about this guy in the last couple of months, and most of it has been good. I remember he played against the USA in the recent friendly, but I was too busy scouting Hulk to really notice what he did or didn't do. I feel like half of the stuff I have read would suggest we are signing him for the RW role, while the other would suggest the creative CM role. Will be interesting to see how this plays out.

What does signing a 20 year old for 20 mil say about the clubs intentions for Josh and Piazon?

Perhaps that they think that they are simply not good enough at a club that is desperate to win more premier league titles and European cups?

Not my opinion, just a guess at the clubs thinking.

Anyway, this story smells of bullsh*t. Daily Heil and Toriegraph but no mention on BBC or Sky.

Looks good from the video itt but have seen nothing else, good reputation though

22mil+ though? f**k.

Do worry for Josh at this rate.

Considering we just signed KdB who can play central and wide, it doesn't seem like the most necessary signing...

edit; Internacional president has said no bid received, Oscar has said he's staying - so that's the end of that then?

Oscar has apparently told Globo Esporte that he is staying at Internacional.

They have sourced this guy - Paulo Freitas - https://twitter.com/Cynegeticus?tw_i=222478326219030528&tw_e=screenname&tw_p=tweetembed

@IsidoreStella Well, he could be just waiting to announce it when the time is right.

@teachawill I think we will only know for sure what will happen in August.

@KabirSodhi Maybe, to be honest it's hard to predict what might happen, I think his future depends a lot on what happens to Ganso

I don't know how reliable he is, but he has a cracking CV and a decent number of followers.

He sounds like an exciting prospect and it's nice to beat spurs to a player.

However I'm a little worried that all our signings seem to be in the 'Mata' mould? Small creative types.

I was hoping for someone who could also be used up top (jovetic) or with power/pace (hulk).

From Sky Sports

Internacional insist they have not received any offers for Oscar, but have not ruled out a move away for the playmaker.

Reports have suggested Chelseaspacer.gif have stolen a march on Premier League rivals Tottenham by making an offer for the highly-rated 20-year-old.

Oscar's agent, Carlos Meinberg Neto, claimed Chelsea had tabled a €25million (£19.8m) bid for the Brazil international and that a deal could be done soon.

However, Internacional president, Giovanni Luigi, claims there have been no offers for Oscar or his team-mate Leandro Damiao, who also been linked with a move to Tottenham.

Luigi admits Internacional may be forced to sell a player before the close of the transfer window, but is adamant they have yet to receive an offer for any player in their squad.

"There have been no offers for Oscar and Leandro Damiao," Luigi told Radio Gaucha

I heard that his current team have said that there is no deal yet, they said they havent even had an offer for him.

If we did sign him then i am trying to think where he will fit in the team. If Robbie will go ahead with the 4-2-3-1 we were playing last season then where does this guy fit in? Also where does it leave the likes of Mikel,Essien, Rambo and Lamps? only 2 spots for all those players and i've even missed off Malouda, Raul, Josh, KDB.
