Another Belgian - Charley Musonda Junior
I'm assuming the 20 year old is going on loan?

Your dream first 11 for 2012/13 season
Looks more like a coma team than a dream team.

Alan Dzagoev
I was exaggerating, tongue firmly in cheek and all that. And I know all that to but my point still stands, it's his understanding with the players that has allowed him to play well in an unfamiliar role. Obviously his ability helps as well, didn't think that needed pointing out.

Not a right winger, barely plays there for his club as far as I can recall, would be like sticking Meireles on the wing. Only reason he does a decent job there for Russia is cause he's played with those players for so long. Add to the fact that we don't even need him, we already have equally if not more talented youngsters at the club as it is.I think he's best when he's just running into the box and getting on the end of moves, he can keep the ball well so it's annoying to see him lose the ball in the centre of the pitch often and sometimes goes for the harder of the two options which while is encouraging at times can also be frustrating.

Fellaini
Would rather see us getting someone like Manuel Fernandes, Wistel and even Demeble if we had to get another player of in a similar mould to Fellaini. Or better yet, stick with De Bruyne and get him on the bench at the very least. He's already better than Fellaini in a few aspects, few more years of football at Chelsea starting now and he will easily surpass Fellaini. I think people are getting carried away with Fellaini, not saying he's not good but he's come off the back of his only real good season and people are jumping the gun. If there is real interest from Chelsea then fair enough, I'll trust their judgement but to me it's just really unnecessary.

No. Edit: If you are actually being serious then I'll offer a proper response. I just thought you were knee jerking. He's a decent winger (I use that term lightly) in a team filled with players he's played with for a long time now, he's a much better attacking mid but even then he does lose the ball. Understandable at times as he goes for risky passes. He's a good player but I really can't see him doing well at a team like Chelsea right now regardless of how much of a suppose fan he is. Keep an eye on him of course but there are better right wingers out there, even in the current Euro squads.

Kakuta
He was quite impressive in the short amount of games he played to be fair, played all across the front three and even in midfield as a pivot. His goals and assists helped the club get some important wins and I think he was their best player, at least among them anyway. Reminds me of Walcott in a way, likes everything to be done quickly at a high tempo any longer than that and he makes the wrong decision or just loses the ball. I personally think one more loan to a team in the EPL would be best for him. This time a team where he would get a lot of time on the pitch, not really sure what team that would be though. Reading don't really have any standout wingers. After that then decide if we're going to keep him or not, theres no rush really I think he has a long contract plus he's only 20 so I would rather wait and see if he can become a quality player rather than getting rid too early.

The Official Euro 2012 Thread
Can't be bothered to do the whole thing right now but I think Russia and Croatia will do quite well. Not sure who will win it, certain it won't be Germany or Spain though. He plays attacking mid for France and has excelled in that role for a good few years now, he doesn't get the chance to play there for Chelsea. Not sure why really, he's declined as a winger massively over the years.

Hulk coming to Chelsea?
Yes it is, that's how Falcao got most of his goals.

Hulk coming to Chelsea?
Ben Arfa can only really play CAM, he's pretty anonymous when played on the wings. Doesn't have the drive to make something on his own. I highly doubt he would get in ahead of Mata or Hazard so if we went for him instead he would have to play right wing, his least effective position. And that goal was the holy grail of poor defending. No surprise to see Ream being the main cause of it.

Thomas Müller
Decent player when surrounded with quality around him, works hard for the team and all that but really we can do much better (although the price mentioned is pretty good value for money). I can see why there might be interest in him but it's a big no from me.
- Sagna and Walcott?

Hulk coming to Chelsea?
Something like that, yeah. More of an "Hu" than "Oo" though.

Eden Hazard at Chelsea
I hope people don't expect fireworks straight away and get on his case, it's definitely going to take a while for him to adjust.

2012 Membership with Chelsea TV online - worth it?
I've gotten by perfectly fine without it.

Hulk coming to Chelsea?
Well yes it is your idea because despite the fact that we can now afford to get a proper winger in Hulk you are still harping on about playing Ramires there. I wouldn't have singled you out if I didn't see you mentioning it more than once, nothing you mention is said once. I've seen you make the same point a millions times in this thread alone.Davey has already touched on the other parts of your post so I'm not going to repeat the same point. They have a match against Argentina towards the end of the week, if I remember right so they should have left the US by the following week the latest.

Ryan Bertrand Great Player
I can't wait to see Bertrand with an England shirt on.

Hulk coming to Chelsea?
When needed isn't often enough. Of course you'll remember those chances now but you'll not remember the countless others he's messed up.Wish you would let up on this Ramires on the wing idea of yours. It just doesn't work unless playing counter attacking football and even then it's questionable. If you insist on playing him out of position I would rather he played right back.

Dembele
That was ages ago and he's never shown that side of his game after that incident, clearly learned from his mistake.
-
Cahill out of the Euros
Very disappointed for him, just as he was starting to become a regular as well. Sad to see him miss out on something as special as the Euros.
-
Which Chelsea players will be in the lineups tonight then? (England vs Belgium)
In his defence he was never going to get anything pass that brick wall unless Belguim were a bit more attacking. I was really disappointed with Dembele cause he didn't make any effort to get forward whatsoever, all it would have taken was for him to make a run into the box and free up space for Hazard to make something. But yeah, it's just a friendly. Wistel looked solid as usual.

Gregory van der Wiel
I think it's quite clear why that is, once the players went back to tactics they were used to everything was a lot more solid.Never said you did, I was reffering to someone else who said he could play there and then this all started. You can see why I dismissed those stats, you presented them in a way that in no way backs your opinion, your opinion was based solely off the stats when you said "you can't seriously suggest that the best tackler in the league is lacking in defensive department. ". If you had at least mentioned some games where he played superbly defensively then I would have had more to say but you didn't and it's coming across as you haven't seen him much but are overrating his defensive abilities based on just that stat. If I'm wrong feel free to say, if you have indeed seen his defensive side of his game and still feel the same way then fair enough you are also entitled to your own views. You would seriously rely on stats above someone who has actually watched the player? That's effectively what you are saying and I find that very odd. If I could find stats that show how many times he's been out of position, etc I would gladly share it with you but as you can imagine coming across a stat like that is almost impossible as it's not something that can be easily quantified and is rarely done.

Gregory van der Wiel
But I have credited him, I said he's great at creating. Seeing him and Ruiz setting up moves was a joy to watch. I can't admit something I don't believe to be true. Not sure how it got to this anyway, all I was saying is that if we wanted a pivot/defensive mid we could get better for a similar fee than Dembele who plays much better further forward. I don't see how that's wrong? I don't understand what that is suppose to mean? Because of the poor disciplinary record it means we have a poor defensive unit? And you have to take that with a pinch of salt, we've had some very questionable bookings over the course of the season. I can only say what I've seen. All I'm saying is those stats, while impressive to look at, should be put into context otherwise it's just misleading.
-
Gregory van der Wiel
Well as impressive as that is defending is a lot more than just tackling. He gets caught out of position, only reason he gets away with it is cause he's quick enough and strong enough to recover. Bosingwa is a great tackler, not so great in the other aspects though. And your point about there being no CFC player on there just shows you how organised as a unit the team is when it comes to defending. No need to make tackles when you're positioned in the right places.
-
Gregory van der Wiel
Well I'm sure he could but there are better players out there for that. He's better when he's creating with Ruiz, not playing as some kind of pivot in midfield. Bit of a waste as he's not great defensively.
