Spot on. The only thing that concerns me regarding Oscar playing the holding role is defensively. I know we obviously went on to win the game comfortably, but the goal we conceded away at Leeds concerns me, with Luiz bringing the ball out and losing it, Oscar was nowhere near filling in at centre half, something Mikel would. However, he is only young and can be something he learns, he 100% good enough on the ball to play holding or further forward.

If you are asking whether being physically able to play 60+ games a season is possible then without doubt yes. Professional footballers train everday pretty much, and so without injury they should be able to play 3/4 games a week. However, if your asking whether or not these players could play 60+ games at maximum performance? Certainly not.

Agreed. Regarding Yaya Toure, I'm not sure many midfielders in world football would have been able to cope with Yaya Toure on a couple of his runs. However my feelings towards Mikel aren't just based on yesterdays performance, he certainly is not solely responsible for the loss, but he's certainly become unstuck against worse players then Yaya before, and will do in the future. My frustrations with Mikel are highlighted when linked to Barry. I don't feel Barry is a worldclass holding midfielder, but he defends solidy and simply, as well as passing accruatley and at a high tempo. Every team needs players like Barry and Milner to do the work that the likes of Hazard and Mata don't want to do, but I dont feel Mikel does this well enough.

Interpretation being the key word, rightly or wrongly I interpret his quotes to make him sound like he cant really be bothered with the Europa, and his performances match that perfectly. You can interpret his comments as you wish, but his performances and work rate certainly have not been 10 out of 10. Defending or attacking his comments out the way, it speaks volumes that the CFC fans I spoke to on the train home yesterday wouldn't think twice about taking Gareth Barry above him.

I have 'bothered' to read the comments, and they do nothing for me. His performances for a player who 'wants to be in the Champions League next season', have been very strange. For someone who wants to play at the highest level, I'd expect a little bit more work rate and determination then what we've seen recently. I said his comments regarding motivation for the Europa League sum him up as a player at the moment, because it shows he can't be bothered to play the small games, he should be motivated to play every bloody game for the club not just the Champions Leaugue final.

My thoughts on Mikel from walking out of Wembley yesterday afternoon to sleeping on it and waking up this morning haven't changed. I've stuck up for him in the past, eventhough he's not one of the most gifted players we've seen at the Bridge, for some reason he is usually a big game player, a player who does nothing spectacular, but defends well and keeps possession against the big teams. HOWEVER, yesterday confirmed my feelings towards him when he plays against most opposition, he's lazy, he doesn't want to defend and he's poor with the ball. I don't think its any coincedence that we scored when he came off, Luiz although still playing centre half started getting on the ball and we looked so much better when moving it quickly, something Mikel prevents us from doing. He's a good player to have, a good player to have away from home as he can break up play and keeps the ball. However, especially in home matches I think we need something more, something that can pass the ball with real pace and quality which unquestionably Mikel doesn't do on a regular basis.

I think Ba will be second choice behind a new signing next season. He's done well enough in his first few games and will hopefully improve with a full pre-season with us. Lukaku will be going out on loan again, he would'nt want to be 3rd choice especially with our inability to ever play more than 1 upfront. Torres is off as long as someone will take him, or we pay someone to take him. Wouldnt be suprised to see two strikers come in, to go with Ba.

I have been a critic of Mikel in the past, however I dont think its a coincidence that he's been a big part of every trophy we have won since he broke into the first team. He did well when he came on yesterday, broke up play and showed good composure on the ball - which you can't always say about him! I feel like he's a very good player to have away from home, however at home when teams come and sit 11 men behind the ball I don't see a need for him, he doesn't pass the ball well or quick enough to break teams down.

This exactly. Fair play to Rafa, he saw where it needed changing and he did it quickly. I dont like him as much as the next person but was it his fault that Cech got caught in no-mans land for the first? or was it his fault to defender wanted to get on the end of Rooneys free kick? We've got top quality players who showed fantastic character last night, and with the fans behind them can really push on and win the FA cup!

As well as AVB is doing at Spurs, he was the right man at the very wrong time at Chelsea. He needed a young, ethusiastic team wanting to learn and thats exactly what he didn't have with us. However, regardless of him not fitting in, he showed continuously his lack of man management, as well as strange tactical decisions throughout his reign. His insistance to change from a high defensive line cost us, he should had seen it wasn't working and be able to change it. Rumours at the time about him wanting to replace Cech with a younger keeper were crazy, as well as his decision to leave Lamps and A.Cole out away in Napoli. I didn't want to see him sacked as he deserved a chance to learn, however he's gone so lets move on. We are a bigger club then Tottenham but they are 'showing' signs of moving in the right direction. I for one cant wait for the season to be over, I want to wake up and be told we finished 4th and I'll be happy.

In all seriousness, who would people want to replace these 3 muppets? People have spoken about Huddink coming in within some role when he retires from day to day management. As fantastic as this would be, I think we need more 'Chelsea' people running the club. I like others cant stand Buck or Gourlay, but who would we replace them with?

Be interesting to see what sort of team RDM puts out for the Blackburn match. I know you don't want to risk injuries for the starting line up in the CL final, but surely some match sharpness is lost if the players haven't played for two weeks? From what RDM said last night about Luiz/Cahill it seems like they wont be risked, or maybe given 20 mins to up their fitness. I think that is fair comment. As a 21 year old fan from Surrey, have been going to the Bridge since late 90's but as not a Londoner, I cant deny that the distance between SW6 and Battersea doesn't mean as much to me, eventhough I do love the Bridge like I am sure all fans do wherever they travel from.

The statue of Ossie moved to the main entrance of the new site, and his ashes moved to under the new pitch. Potential standing area for the new 15k stand. Absolutely love Stamford Bridge, but can't help but get excited about this move. Yes we all love the Bridge, but people need to understand we are going to move, we cant expand the Bridge and we have to to be able to be sustainable. The plans sound amazing, if features of the power station are kept then the new build will have character, it will not be like the Emirates. I hope they listen to the fans on what to include and it looks like they will do. I am trying not to get too excited, were not the only bidder and the decision wont come quickly.

Anyone else think that the lack of opportunities for him to play upfront results from our lack of wingers? If we had proper wingers, it would allow us to play him upfront. Hopefully this summer if Drogba leaves, we will sign a proper left and proper right wingers allowing us to play strikers UPFRONT.

I thought we played 4-2-3-1 last night? I like this formation at the moment, especially when Ramires plays on either wing, because when we lose the ball it means that Ramires drops into the middle to make a compact centre, as and the two wingers drop in to make it into a 433 without the ball.

I personally think it was a mis-hit, as you can see Mata screaming for the ball to be hooked up to the far post. But I dont give a s**t I said after his first goal against Leicester, that if he had hit it perfectly it would have probably gone straight at the keeper or hit the bar. If Torres mish*ts every cross and shot he has for the rest of the season but they either fall to a chelsea player like it did for Kalou or rolls into the bottam corner then thats fine by me
