While he does make those passes regularly, what he is very good at are those quick short passes which gives others space to operate that are key for maintaining possesion against agressive teams. He always seems to know were to go with the ball and is very good at getting open for a return pass. I remember watching the two Barca games thinking that he was the only one who could actually pass it consistently without turning it over. What he is also very good at is taking away passing lanes. this is a very underrated skill imo and Mikel does this consistently well. Its not going to show up on a stat sheet and its not something that will get you praised. But if you make the opposition shy away from playing a productive pass, thats a job well done. Yes they are and josh will never have the role in our team that Mikel does. Could he play next to him? Sure, but not instead of him so Im not sure were this comparison came about. I like to add that I find it fascinating that all of the world class managers we have loved Mikel. Hes always played in our important games, hes never been rumored out and we have never been linked with a possible replacement so our board must be rather fond of him as well. Yet, there are several of armchair managers out there that thinks hes rubbish. They are probably all wrong though, I mean all of us has probably won the league with Chelsea several times on FM. I know I have.
