Modric was always on his way out. VdV is just not a fit at all in AVBs scheme so he was not going to be useful for Spuds this season. They have brought in some quality players as replacements. As far as squad strength goes, these moves are for the better of the club. With that said AVB is still a nubbin and I have no idea why he keeps insisting on his 4-3-3 as the only formation. Theyll still be a tough opponent, guessing top 4-6

What is even more remarkable, is that some people on this board are actually annoyed by the support given to a Chelsea player. I agree that the support he gets is peculiar at times, but it seems some would rather he falls flat on his face rather then succeed just so they can rub it in everyone's face.

Not saying he isnt talented, but from what I saw hes still far off from replacing him. Next year maybe. Hes going to get his minutes as Mikel is going to need a rest at some point so Ill guess well see how far he has come. Hopefully its more then Romeu we saw start the season and not the one who finished it, because he was beyond awful...

Romeu has a LONG way to g before hes ready to displace Mikel in the starting lineup. Hell get his chance during the ACON, but before that everyone should stop nagging about cause its not going to happen. Mikel is going to continue playing in every important game we have.

I dont think some of you know what Mikels role in the squad is. Its clear that you have no idea how to judge him and dont understand what playing defensive mid in a two man pivot means. I dont think you would recognize a solid performance if it kicked you in the nuts.
