His hold up play was decent though, as I said in another thread, him holding it up and making space for Schurrle to run on to as a second striker could be lethal.

Agreed but it is pre season... there was one gorgeous one on one he had though where he might as well have physically gone through the defender such was the skill of his dribble.

Hate to echo the sentiment, but he looks miles below par for a second striker. Whilst I value his off the pitch contribution, another striker is absolutely vital.

Seeing as it seems to be a belief that Schurrle needs space to operate at his peak, would it be a good idea to play him as a second supporting striker? This way he can utilise his finishing (which is better than anyone apart from maybe Costa) whilst the other striker draws defenders away from him.

What about the year before that at Anfield when your equaliser was scored 2 minutes after the end of injury time and by someone who had BITTEN AN OPPONENT?

If Oscar needs more time off to find form and fitness, what do people think of the attacking 3 being: Schurrle, Willian, Hazard? With his defensive work rate, Willian could interchange with Fabregas as well.
