The Frank Lampard goal scoring record thread
If he doesn't get injured I think he can do it, we're likely going to get another 3-4 penalties this season and I think he can score 4-5 from open play before the end of the season too.

Pubs blame Old Firm...
I believe Liverpool are having a negative impact on passing trade through pubs in the vicinity of Anfield, mainly because no-one wants to be in a bar full of scousers.

MOTM vs Arsenal
He had some fantastic touches and runs, including one where he out-muscled Mertesacker then strolled past Vermaelan, was unlucky the pitch was so icy that the ball got away from him into the arms of the keeper. After this he got around the centre back a few more times and was very unlucky not to add some more goals to his already impressive tally for this season. Was also a major player in our first goal as he sucked in both centre backs and gave Mata the room at the back post to blast it in!

Look at Rooney's penalties this season, I swear he's put at least 3 into orbit, some of the "top players" in the league couldn't score from the spot if the title depended on it.

United or Spurs?
Just went back and watched the final few minutes of the game, I could see Fergie standing right next to the 4th official when he announced only 3 minutes of injury time, which is ridiculous considering you're supposed to have 30 seconds time per sub so alone that should be 3 minutes, plus that there were a lot of fouls and faux-injuries in that game, 5 minutes would have been more appropriate. Loved the irony in that coming back to bite him on the ass, his face and Rio's reaction when Dempsey scored, eat sh*t w**ker.

Who's next? - Manager talk (merged)
Wouldn't take him over a single manager on that list considering he's done absolutely nothing as a manager, which puts him about on par with Laudrup at best, although at least Laudrup was a legendary player and that may buy him points in the dressing room.

United or Spurs?
I wish someone would just clean out Van Persie, someone like Titus Bramble or Ryan Shawcross should just go straight through his knees and we'll see how good United are without him for the rest of the season.

Zenden - the "Groundhog day" thread
He's become more of a team player since arriving at Chelsea, even when he's not doing the things himself he's always there providing the framework and helping out.

Chelsea v Arsenal (PL) 20/1/13 KO 13:30 GMT
Wasn't a standout but played well in the first half, the trio were in full control and while Mata was definitely the one running the show, Oscar was doing the small things well. Second half all 3 of them disappeared and he ended up getting pulled for Bertrand about the 70th minute.

United or Spurs?
How the f**k do they make scoring look so easy, they play 2 or 3 passes and then suddenly Cleverly has the world of room on the edge of the box, who plays a simple ball to the back post where two United players are waiting to tap it in. Seriously their team on paper is not even strong and they make it all look so easy, how the f**k,

César 'Dave' Azpilicueta
Good cross for Mata's goal today.

Torres - The "Groundhog Day" Thread
Maybe not being the only striker at the club has given him a kick up the arse.

It's one thing to criticize him when he plays poorly (which I do) but to say you don't want to see him do well is beyond ridiculous, I do feel bad for him slightly despite the fact he gets more in a year than I'll get in my entire lifetime to flop around the pitch, but i'm infinitely happier when he's playing well and scoring goals.

Torres - The "Groundhog Day" Thread
Played better than i'd feared he would, still a big improvement when Ba came on, main issue today was that he struggled to hold the ball up against Vermaelen, not really strong enough..

United or Spurs?
I really want to watch this game but I still don't know who I want to win, you're all probably right saying the title is beyond us, but the thought of being happy at rednose and Van Persie celebrating makes me physically ill.

MOTM vs Arsenal
Fair enough, I thought his substitutions were poor as per usual, although we did steamroll them in the first half with roughly 70% possession, credit where credit is due.

No need to fight, finally for the first time in months we have something to cheer about, a double over Arsenal and Ash signs a new contract in the same day. Let's appreciate the good day's when they come, they're few and far between this season.

When we win he's lucky, when we lose it's his fault. Makes sense. Ramires.

United or Spurs?
I've been battling with this issue all weekend, I hate both teams, probably more so United, and never once before have I wished United to win a game. I guess it comes down to whether you've given up on the title or not, if so then a United win is the best option, otherwise obviously we need Spurs to win. A draw isn't really a great result, i'd rather one of them get thrashed and it sets off a poor run of form for one of them. I'm not sure if i've given up on the title yet, 10 points and it's still January, it's definitely do-able, but to have both them and City slip up seems very, very unlikely. Dunno, I loathe the thought of conceding the title to bacon face, I can't f**king stand seeing him happy. Gonna have to go back and watch his face on the last day of last season when he heard City had pulled it back.

Chelsea v Arsenal (PL) 20/1/13 KO 13:30 GMT
Nearly had a heart attack the last 15 minutes of that, Ba should have been on as soon as it was clear Arsenal were pulling back into the game (55-60th minute), typically though the substitutions took forever. Good win though, not sure if we played like gods in the first half or if Arsenal were terrible. The commentators made a good point about Hazard and Oscar being brilliant when we're playing well, and disappearing when we're not, both of them need to shape up. Good to see Ramires answer his critics, Cahill had a fantastic game and so did Ash, both saved us numerous times I reckon. Mata best player on the field as per usual!

Top 4 or 3 trophies?
I'd rather take the trophies, 3 final's wins would create some wonderful memories and add to our already fantastic trophy cabinet. I don't think finishing 5th would cause anyone to leave or discourage anyone from coming, everyone knows soon as we get a proper manager we're top 3 at the very least.

Podolski and the Ox both out with illness, all hope is not lost lads!

Chelsea v Arsenal (PL) 20/1/13 KO 13:30 GMT
f**king sh*t, oh well we beat the Arse at the Emirates with Torres up front (and scoring a good goal), maybe he can produce the same today. Maybe sitting on the bench the last few games will give him a kick up the ass. Maybe the new haircut shows a new more determined personality. Maybe i'm grasping at straws.

Fellani, Falcao and Walcott
It's even worse with the manager, can't go 2 posts without someone trying to make a witty quip, unfortunately after 2-3 months of it it's getting rather boring.

Ramires
It's as other's said, he does his best work when the other side are tracking back and he can go one one of his lung busting runs. When defence's are sat deep already and we have slow build up play, his touch has never been the best (except his unbelievable goal at the Nou) so he's nowhere near as effective.
