Clean sheet record coming up...
There will be a bigger deal made if/when he breaks David James's record for most top flight clean sheets (173). 36 to go, unless Courtois displaces him or he gets seriously injured again in the next 2 years, that record will be his.

The Rafa Benitez Thread (merged)
If we somehow did win all 3 cups, the best part of it would be that it could con Real Madrid into taking him so that we can have Jose back.

Why are we better away?
We've dominated home games as much as away games, but teams just defend a lot deeper when they come to the Bridge, which when you have a useless #9 means you can't score. QPR and Swansea were very similar games in that we just kept attacking and conceded cheap goals in the only chances they had in the entire game. For City and Fulham i think the waiter just wanted to stop our losing streak and went into those matches thinking a draw was an acceptable result, and could say its an improvement on our form in the final days of RDM.

Chelsea v Southampton (PL) 16/01/2013 KO 19:45 GMT
We'll either win 7-0 or lose 1-0.

Roman to offload up to 10 players at the end of the season
People saying no-one would buy Torres, Juve and a few other clubs were rumored to be sniffing around him in the summer, and if anything his form has been a lot better this season than the past season and a half he's been here, so I haven't completely lost hope of being able to move him on.

Roberto Mancini anyone?
He's been pretty terrible at City really, won the title by the narrowest margin ever despite having a squad twice the strength of anyone else, gone out in the CL group stages two years in a row, and has relied on Dzeko's supersub skills for many, many points this season. Hell they nearly lost to QPR on the last day of the season in the biggest game they've ever had, and were saved by last minute heroics that really had nothing to do with the manager. Also look at the hilarious circus their club has become, it's nearly as bad as ours, and he clearly has no idea how to manage Tevez or Mario. There's a long list of manager's i'd rather have, but unfortunately if Pep does go to City, i'd say hes one of our most likely next managers

The Frank Lampard goal scoring record thread
I already felt really dirty about it, but after reading this i'm just downright depressed.

Roman to offload up to 10 players at the end of the season
This for the most part is great news, aside from Frank and Ash obviously. If we can get rid of Torres it will be the best news we've had in a very long time, and the amount of wages that would be freed up by Torres/Malouda/Essien/Benayoun leaving is quite exciting, our squad has looked deceptively shallow for a long time now and it would be great to get a few new squad players in. edit: Would be a shame if Marin left, seems silly seeing how young and talented he clearly is, to sell and replace him and replace him with someone who will probably be of similar age and skill level, if that, after he's spent a year fitting in with the squad.

Guardiola wants Chelsea job ...
I wouldn't even be surprised if Pep goes to City, if we end up with Mancini.

Guardiola wants Chelsea job ...
Yeah you're right, I remember a while back some other Scottish bloke that hadn't managed a big club before got hired at a big club. What ever happened to him? Oh thats right, he's been there 26 years and been the most successful manager in English footballing history.

Stoke City vs Chelsea (PL) 12/1/13 KO: 15:00 GMT
I thought the penalty we won was pretty weak, but considering how Stoke go around the field kicking the sh*t out of Hazard all game, I have no sympathy.

Congratulations to Mr and Mrs Cahill
He and Iva's son - CB pairing of the future?

Modric Act II
I think he's overrated and we don't need him, would rather have a stronger more athletic midfield engine than another playmaker.

Favourite goal this season?
Will go down as one of the all time great CL goals imo, in decades time when they release box sets of the greatest CL goals, expect this one to be on it.

MOTM vs Stoke
If we play at our best (Villa, Everton, Norwich, Southampton, Stoke) we could be trouncing everyone, i'm really excited for when we get a decent manager to keep us at our best. Hazard again showing glimpses of what he can do, i'd like to see him take on those shots in games where we desperately need goals though, not when we're already 3-0 up. It annoys me to see Luiz, Ramires and Ivanovic blasting the ball over the bar repeatedly instead of Hazard or Oscar taking more shots.

Torres - The "Groundhog Day" Thread
If he is starting i'll probably just go back to bed, not going to stay up until 3am when i have work in the morning to watch him flail around for 80 minutes.

Stoke City vs Chelsea (PL) 12/1/13 KO: 15:00 GMT
If Torres starts ahead of Ba today, o lord there is going to be some drama in the away end...

Who could we sign on loan?
I can't think of any worthwhile striker that can't get game time at their current club and would therefore be loaned out to us. That being said just about any striker would be better than Torres, so I wouldn't be picky.

What will happen to Essien?
His goals against Arsenal and Barca, once in a lifetime goals and they both came in absolutely massive games at massive moments. Not many other people in the world could have pulled those off, it's really quite sad how his career has gone down the drain.
-
Fellaini
I've always wondered who could possibly have been so devoid of football knowledge as to recommend signing the likes of Kezman, Veron, Torres and Boulahrouz. Suddenly it makes sense.

biggest club in the country?
I live in Australia and the majority of people over here support United, Liverpool or Arsenal, very few people support Chelsea, City, Spurs or a club from another European league. I suspect United have a massive fan base in Asia, and we've caught up slightly in recent years thanks to, as someone above mentioned, our African stars. Drogba/Kalou/Essien/Mikel/Moses would definitely have raised our profile around Africa.
