All rivalries aside, I feel for Luke Shaw. First start in the CL and he gets taken out like that. Was an horrific challenge and that's him out for the season.

The brutal truth is that we have looked very, very suspect ever since we got demolished by Tottenham at White Hart Lane in early January. We ground out a string of hard-fought wins, sometimes by the skin of our teeth (Everton, Hull, QPR, etc). People got on our backs about us playing 'Anti-Football' and that we constantly 'Park the Bus'. At the time we laughed it off as envy but looking at it now it does look as though we ran out of gas in the tank around New Years' Day and we pushed the bus over the line. An agonizing run-in coupled with an absolutely shambolic pre-season has been a toxic cocktail for the start of this season. We just have not looked convincing since Harry Kane tore our back line to pieces. I suspect that Mourinho wanted to reinforce the squad in the summer market with John Stones and Paul Pogba but he ended up getting a Reading reject and a Lique One unknown with a literally unpronounceable name. Sure, he got Pedro but that just screamed 'OH sh*t' buy from the board after we got annihilated by Manchester City, but even by then it was far too late to save our title defense. He's pissed the f**k off that the board have pretty much hung the side out to dry and given the title back to Manchester City after five games, which we have; there is absolutely no coming back from this. We said this about the Community Shield match, a match we all wrote off as a fluke but now we know better. This is an absolutely massive game for our season let alone our manager. If we lose, which I fear we're going to, I think that we'll be looking for a new manager. Cannot see our players coping with the unreal pressure and if Arsenal get an early goal or two it could tear their souls out.

This is getting really farcical now.

1) JT is not finished, but he is on his last legs. This will be his last season for sure, he'll be in the MLS this time next year. This is probably why we're moving heaven and earth to sign John Stones as his replacement. 2) Fabregas has been sussed out and cannot operate in the DM role anymore. He needs to be further up the pitch in the #10 role. He lacks the presence to be a true DM on the level of Matic and this has become screamingly obvious in the past four games. 3) Ivanovic is finished, absolutely finished. Why on earth he was made vice-Captain is beyond me. I can only imagine that he got it because Cahill is taking the Captain's role from JT when he moves on at the end of this season. Ivanovic needs to be dropped and moved on in the January window. Azpi moves to his position and we bring Rahman in with Cahill and Terry taking the CB roles, Zouma or even Stones will take Terry's place.

I still think that Oscar is going to be used as bait in the Pogba deal. Jose obviously f**ked up when he sold Mata and declared Oscar his #10 and the one he wanted to build the team around. Willian and Fabregas will fulfill that role in future. Willian will not be dropped by Jose until Fabregas can move forward once Pogba arrives and slots in next to Matic.

It's almost as if we haven't downed tools before for a manager we didn't like. Oh... Wait...

Just not confident about this at all. Our defense is porous, our midfield is lethargic and we're facing what will be an incredibly hostile home crowd. We're losing this game. 2-0 Everton.
