The lads had a stinker of a first half, looks off the pace. He's always been touch and go this season. Will only ever be a squad player.

Apparently Mourinho has been doing a bit of tapping up by talking to his agent and getting in touch with the lad. The more I think about it, the more I can see him being a great fit for the team. Like all speculation, best to just keep the head down until something official materialises. But would still love him at the club.

Ah I apologise. I was always under the impression we nicked him as he was on the verge of signing. Would be a shame to let him slip away as he's being touted at around the same price as schurrle, and I could see Jovetic fitting in our team more than schurrle as he's mainly played up front for Fiorentina and Montenegro (to a lesser extent) this season and looked very impressive. All rumours for now though...we'll see what happens.

Really wish that bollocks rumour of Fiorentina wanting Torres was true now that Arsenal are supposedly closing in on Jovetic. Hope the board ditch the Schurrle plans and hijack the Arse deal at the 11th hour and get Jovetic à la the Mata deal.

I hate the way Benayoun flurries around the pitch when he comes on for no reason, the lad has no purpose on the pitch or at the club, what a true waste of space. Wasn't an abysmal result, wasn't great either, was ok, at least it's in our hands now,and we're in contention with a pair of bottlers, I can smell the CL next season, just can't grasp it...yet. P.s. I f**king hate Walker, not a footballing or personal reason, I just think he looks and acts like a massive cvnt.

Good player, would be a good addition to any side in the league. I'd only object him coming here on the grounds that he wouldn't fit into the current system, would much rather the home grown lads get a chance instead.

Oscar, never looked out of place, very composed throughout, should have completed the game at least. He's maturing all the time, great to see him developing.

I dont think they're going to pull some behemoth performance out of nowhere when they couldnt produce it in the last 2 weeks when they knew they needed big performances because they would play Chelsea. Even if they play twice as good as they did against So'ton we'll take the goods, they were that poor. I'm disregarding their results and going by the overall team performances. This along with fact they're missing Dembele and Lennon (as far as I know, only in from work) I just cant see Spuds beating us tonight. And if we keep Bale quiet we should take the win. Im not saying it'll be a walk in the park by any means, Im just pointing out the pros as to why Chelsea should win if they continue their form. Of course not ruling anything out, form goes out the window for a derby as the cliche goes, but I for one am expecting the goods from Chelsea tonight.

Great to see Romeu back for now...no need to be hasty yet with him, just grand to see him at full training. Hazard back is a massive boost. Tottenham looked too lethargic the past few weeks for me to be overly worried, and you dont overthrow consistent performances like that against teams of our quality. Can see another win from the boys...this european qualificatiin thing wasnt a good feeling with the FSW, glad to know its in the players' hands now tonight. :)

Not buzzing for this as much as I'd love to, the atmosphere at the club until the end of the month will always be discouraging, I'm only watching Chelsea games now as if it were an act of survival, the FSW has really sucked all the enjoyment from the field. Beating United at Old Trafford, on the merry way to leave the y*ds in the dust and Super Frank on the verge of hitting a record all Chelsea folk and genuine football people want to see, and of course another European final....but somethings amiss here, and the problem is simple, and it should be standing outside football stadium selling burgers and chips from the back of his van, instead of pretending to marshal the sidelines and writing love letters to bin dippers on the bench. I told myself I'd be thrilled if we got to the final/won the Europa League, but it's been such a lackluster competition. Having said that I'd love another trophy at the club, always nice to win things, eh?, be nice to see the boys lift some silverware after such a tedious season.

Feel bad about the way his tenure at the club hasn't worked out better for him or the team. It's a shame because he seems like a genuinely nice chap

I'm feeling confident of a win here, like people have said earlier in the thread, we've outperformed man united whenever we've played them this season and we seem to be picking up momentum lately. A huge factor is the way the man u players have nothing to play for, they couldn't give a toss about the rest of the season. Fergie rambled on about his players wanting to go to the races in Chester in a few days, hardly what you'd expect from motivated/driven players who want to pick up a result against us. Old Trafford's always a difficult place to get a result, but I'm feeling confident about getting a result today. Spuds looked horrible yesterday, very lethargic and would have been beaten on a better day on so'ton's behalf. I think we'll hammer them on Wednesday too, but that's another matter.

You'd imagine we were signing Ali Dia with the amount of negativity in this thread. Apart from Messi and Ronaldo he's been the most prolific striker in the world, the guy is an animal in the box, he makes defenders sh*t themselves. This is the little bugger who made Chelsea, the club we all love and support, look like a pub team several months ago after he took apart our team in 45 minutes by scoring a hat trick, do you remember that?. He's dragged a mediocre Atletico team to third in the table in La Liga. Of course the league is always going to be a 2 horse race, but you take him out of that team and they'd be sitting mid table, like many have said in the thread, he's the real deal. I'm not sceptical of him at all, if he costs £40 million or whatever the figure is, if so be it. I hope the club are giving an arm and a leg to sign him.

Exactly. If you ask me the club is trying to make it look like Suarez is donating indirectly, and in turn attempting to make him look like a good samaritan. I'm not surprised either with how they've supported him in his racism case in the past.

I dunno why, but I loved Mata's goal at Norwich, just thought it was a delightful finish and came out of nothing, typical Mata this season and turned out to be an important win. Other than trying to avoid them, the status quo of Oscar's second against Juve, Luiz at Fulham and Ba against United are the main contenders. Oscar's would take my fancy out of those.
