Does anyone follow Italian football?

If so.....

Has Sheva regained the form that made him a Milan legend or has he retained the form that saw him flop at Chelsea?

There were a few who blamed our formation, our manager, or the managers use of him, or our team for not having Kaka to supply his 'killer passes'.

I was just wondering if they were right now he's got Kaka supplying the ammunition or did we really sign the lame duck I thought we did?

Yea i was wondering this the other day

According to skysports

Andriy Shevchenko 2008/2009......Apps........Goals

First Round........AC Milan.............6 (0).........1

Italy Serie A......AC Milan .............2 (9)........0

Doesn't look like he has played too much, but then again they have Pato and Ronaldinho upfront.

Would like to hear how he has played in these games tho, see if he has looked any better for Milan than he did for Chelsea if anyone has seen him play.

I would have been happy for Sheva if he had have finished his career where he was happy and in some decent form but seriously doubted he would,

He was past his best when he came to us and although I think had he been given more game time he could have done a job for us with a bit of success it would have maybe been to our detriment.

I think the lack of games and the damage to his confidence that came from his time here has had an impact on what he will achieve in the latter part of his career but whatever he does he does it with my best wishe's as I think he behaved with a lot of dignity here through all the Romans spy slurs and Jose never wanted him stories.

Worth his time with us for his Goal against the Spuds..although I dont doubt some would put it down as a mis hit cross.

Isn't he still our player? As in, did we sell him back to AC or didn't we just loan him out again?

mad_mac, I remember clearly the announcement on the website read: "the details of the deal will remain confidential."

If that's not vague, nothing is. So take it anywhere you like. My own interpretation is that we have sold him back and not loaned him.

Thanks Virosh. I just don't recall a figure being disclosed, so assumed it may have been another of those loan deals we seem so intent on with strikers returning to Italy!

Fair bit of logic to that, but in this instance I think it would have been made known to us if the deal was a loan (as was the case with the other players.)

I have seen three or four Milan games this year, and I think he has come on as a sub no later than the 65th minute in at least two of them. He has been mostly useless, causing havoc on the frontline but not doing much. On the brightside, he is clearly still Ancelotti's favorite, and the fans love him, still. They always give him a big cheer when he is coming on.

But it doesnt look right seeing '76' on his back.

Agreed with that. He was a professional if nothing else, and certainly was not a distraction despite being a sideshow of a transfer.

I will never forget him scoring against the Dippers in the community shield. They won the game, but the way he took the ball off his chest, and slotted it home perfectly all at a full gallop, you could almost hear an "oh sh*t" emitted from every fanbase in England, because it appeared we finally had the world class striker we had always craved.

I never thought Jose used him the way he should have been. We just slotted him in where Drogba used to play in the middle of the frontline in a 4-3-3 and sent him to work. He was clearly a guy who needed a support striker especially at his age. It was never going to be an easy transition, especially after years in Italy. Either way, he was one of my favorite players and i was devastated that he failed.

Im curious about one thing. Did anyone out there get his name and number on the back of a shirt?

I had been considering it the summer he got signed. It had long been my aspiration to get his milan shirt with the angular gold name + number, but I held off because I am far from a rich man.

Thank jesus I never got that accursed number 7. I wonder if he had worn 9 instead if he wouldve been better.

Cough (I did ) cough.

It was a choice between Sheva or Joe Cole, and at the last minute I went for Sheva as I'd never got a 'superstar' name before (My last shirt before that had been Eidur) and I though getting one of the world's best strikers would be a good time to break that habit.

Strangely, within a few washes, the entire number 7 simply came off, just leaving a faint silhouette behind, so i never really wore it again. Kinda says it all really.

;)

I got it for my Stepdaughter and she proudly wore it (looking pretty good in it) she's a younger version of her Mum and done a bit of moddeling.

My Daughter had Joey Cole, Stepson (Leeds Fan) had John Terry, Missus Frank Lampard and Son had his own name...costs me a fortune everytime a new kit comes out as they all had the new one this year (no names this time lucky for me)

My son likes his shirt to have one of the new signings on the back. His latest one was Deco. The one that made me fume was when his mum took him to get a new one the summer before last. He came home with Ben Haim!!! I was open-mouthed, but had to laugh when he said it was because he wasn't sure how to spell Belletti. (I'd have preferred a shirt with Balletty on the back to Ben Haim, myself)

I think JJB Sports of Llantrisant must be the only shop in the world that can say it sold a Ben Haim Chelsea shirt. Funnily enough he doesn't wear it that much.

I can still picture him in it :D

There's times when we all feel proud of our kids, and then there's times like these...

Thats nothing though, my kids live with their Mum and I had a short time where I never saw much of my boy (hes 13 now)

I suppose he was 7 or 8, when I went to pick him up he had been hanging around with their next door neighbour...

A Gooner, and with his influence my Boy had an Arsenal shirt on, an Arsenal quilt on his bed and Pictures on his walls.

It was a nightmare, I shamed him and felt a bit guilty but a few months later after I had been seeing him regular his mum phoned me and said these words that I will never forget...Jack says he wants to support Chelsea but thought you'd think he was silly if he kept changing.

A bomfire hastily took care of the North London memorabilia and it got replaced with more Pictures and Duvet covers than the megastore could sell in a month.

he wears his Chelsea kits now all the time and the neighbour gets Taunted and abused for tempting him to stray.

see Ben Haim shirts are nothing to worry about. :D

I've got one on my computer but it's a bit risque, she's not facing the camera and shes only got the shirt on.

I better not put it on the site but you can see it privately here:
