Just two months ago, Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon described Luiz Felipe Scolari as 'one of the world's top coaches'.

But the Brazilian's brief reign at Stamford Bridge has now been dramatically ended after he was sacked by the Blues.

Here, Sportsmail tracks what Kenyon had to say about Scolari this season.

June 11

'He is one of the world's top coaches with a record of success at country and club level.

'Scolari gets the best out of a talented squad of players and his ambitions and expectations match ours. He was the outstanding choice.'

July 10

'Obviously with Felipe joining us and new players as well there will be a huge spotlight on us and I think everyone is excited to see how he gets on and we have no doubt that he will do a great job.

'It's always good to start with a home game and I think the way the games are, at the moment, we have a good beginning, good end and a tough middle but there are never any easy games.'

October 25

'The mood within the club is very positive.

'The manager has had a huge impact on the team and externally. People see him for what he is, a world-class coach and a really nice person.'

December 2

'I don't think anyone would deny we've had some disappointing results but it's not yet Christmas.

'It's a long season. He's made a huge impact on the way and style that we play.

'That's been pretty immediate. He's got a three-year contract. You don't want to sack a manager every year.

'First and foremost, you want some continuity.'

I was helping my stepson with his homework earlier....i was looking in the dictionary for spellcheck for him, i came across the word "ANUS"

Poetic justice....or just luck???

Seeing this man sacked would be like winning a trophy. We are never going to get better until he is gone.

He has failed miserably at all of his goals since he got here. Four managers gone in five years, no profitability, millions wasted, and we blew the best chance we had to set up a footballing empire. A chimp couldve spent Roman's money, but somehow he even managed to cock that up with regularity.

Raineiri, Grant, Scolari: three gents that deserved more than no time or no support. Jose Mourinho, and absolute legend that deserved more than this piece of garbage meddling with his team. Yet the jester still sits on the throne.

Everything Kenyon has ever said or done since he came to Chelsea has either been a lie, to please someone then stab them in the back, or to create a false impression to gain loyalty to enable him to line his own pocket. They say cheats never prosper but in his case he has broken the mould.

Even now, people will say Roman axed Scolari, he will get off the hook again. He got of scot free when Jose was sacked, put it this way if Roman had ordered me in his position to oust Mourinho, I would have resigned myself and told him to tell him to keep my dignity and true belief that he was about to make the biggest mistake of his life.

Since Jose left the club has become a circus, everything that was built has been destroyed. Too right he was the Special One, bigger than anyone ever in a managerial capacity at Chelsea for certain.

If Roman has any dignity or knowledge for football left himself he should sack Kenyon and go cap in hand to Jose and offer him a ten year contract to get us out of this mess.

We all know he won't or more to the point Jose and any other top class manager won't or shouldn't consider Chelsea. Captain Jack Sparrow wouldn't even consider it, walking the plank is an easier and more palatable option.

How on earth anyone can take us seriously after two Managers the equivalent of a full season after failing to back, interfere with everything and get rid of a bloke who has delivered 2 Premiership titles and other silverware never dreamed of by any Chelsea fan on the universe is beyond me.

Look at Kenyon spreading the Chelsea brand, kids all over the world bought into his game, now casting aside their Chelsea shirts. Ridicule all around Europe in football terms and vision of grandure.

We are f£ucked, Grant wrong appointment, Scolari wrong appointment, who is next for the chopping block ?

If Kenyon was a president he would have been assasinated long before the ink was dry on his next bent deal.

He is not a man he is a slimy ponce who needs castrating.

To be honest, if they're that ready to cast aside their shirts... good riddance to them.

However, I agree with you on Kenyon being a useless, evil pile of sh*te.

I am done with people in this club trying to "sell" anything to anyone. Man U are what they are, a force in the far east, because they whored themselves out with the likes of brand Beckham and Fergie's boys. They got that market, so best of luck to them.

If you are good on the pitch, the brand will sell itself. So far the general conduct of the club since Roman has come has been nothing short of disastrous and made every neutral on earth despise us. But over time, if we had elevated ourselves into the ranks of the elite, that perception would have changed.

Concentrate on football. Concentrate on winning. Leave the Pini Zhavis at the door and tell them to go bleed someone else to death

This quite jumped out at me:

'Obviously with Felipe joining us and new players as well there will be a huge spotlight on us'

Excuse me, Mr. Kenyon, who exactly are these "new players" you're talking about?

I'll admit that, yes, we got Deco, bit that's "a player" not "players".

Let's face it, we only signed one player and that was Deco. Players like Mineiro (who has been absolutely excellent for us so far :D ) and Quaresma came later.

Peter Kenyon is a lying, greedy, incompetent little f*cknugget.

you are preaching to the choir here, graham

somehow amid all the money paid out and all the hard feelings and ruined reputations of the past 2 years, one of the principle men responsible has kept his job. If this was anywhere else, he wouldve been sacked by now

Great post Star.

unfortunately he is Romans yes man, or No man when it came to getting Robinho, he has made countless f*ck-ups but what Roman says goes. He is only Romans puppet.

We're run on the whim of our owner. He sacked the best manager we've ever had because he became more popular than the owner himself. Forget the attractive football b*llsh*t.

Why do you think Avram, the chairmans mate, name is being banded around, it has nothing to do with Kenyon, like it or not he is just a middle man, one who get's it wrong more often than not, but a middle man/yes man all the same, just like Buck and Tennenbuam - Roman is surrounded by YES men.

And he's now he's bringing in Hiddink - someone who's wages he's been paying for years. Looks like Roman is more hands on than we thought. It's not a toy Roman - but none of his close aides or allies will interfere because they're happy on the wage bill, the last bloke to stand upto Roman is ironically sitting at the top of Seria A.

I agree, for the most part, but Roman has shown the ability to defer to people who know their stuff in the past. I think these yes men have their minds on turning a profit and that alone, and it is through that prism they relay their information about the team to an increasingly detached Roman.

But I realize that Roman wants the glory himself and, personally, I thought the fact that the fans love him and sign his name would be enough. I know, in the end, the buck stops with him. But I think Kenyon deserved to be out long before this

Here is another one to consider: the press are stating LFS could get compensation of 15 million. 15 MILLION. Add that to 5 for Grant, and however much Jose got. Anyone can help me out here? Im betting its well over 5

Its hard to stomach thinking what 25 million in transfer fees could have bought us by now. Instead, we go with obvious flaws in the team, and expect every manager to just make do. Its a really obtuse way to run a business.

We have no money for players but have spent in excess of 26m on managers compensation, thats without the £8m we paid Spurs for Arnesen - aorund 34m on managers in 3 years.

Oh and the crowd rarely sing Romans name anymore - well since he sack Jose!!!

says it all really. 24 bought us the likes of Essien and Drogba. Hard to believe we couldve had a Ribery or a Benzema in our team right now, which might have been the difference between us and the CL or the league last season. Instead of just a few more ex-managers

dont think I didnt notice that star jab, either :D

Real top quality stuff folks. Next time anyone posts a link to a Liverpool forum and accuses it of being full of vermin due to the vitriol in their posts I think we should look back at this thread and start judging ourselves.

Good call Loz

and people, don't get sucked into the maelstrom of journalistic bollocks about the payouts to our previous managers. The club ain't saying how much, the sacked managers ain't saying how much and nobody else knows. So our esteemed press think of a number, double it, add on the GDP of a small eastern European country and tout that as fact.

It ain't necessarily so

For the record the sacking of Scolari was conducted soley by Roman, while Kenyon was away on holiday. (reported in the media and by the club yesterday.)

this thread is pathetic, do you people really think kenyon has done all this on his own? he just decided to do all these things you accuse him of without any prompting from the board and more importantly roman? im sorry but if you honestly believe everything the media tell you about kenyon then you seriously need to take a good look at yourself. i dont like him but im not about to lay all the blame for whats happened at the club on kenyon and only kenyon.

Think that's a bit harsh Loz. Okay, some of the comments are a bit OTT but you must know by now just how much Kenyon is hated by most Chelsea fans. Most of us won't be entirely happy until the bloke has gone or at the very least keeps out of ALL football matters.

I've seen enough of the bloke to make my own opinion without going by what's said in the papers.
