just thought i'd post another example of rubbish journalism and a piece stunning in it's lack of originality...I fully agree that yesterday's win was effiecient rather than exciting, yet it came a few days after what sunderland manager steve bruce admitted was the best performance from a chelsea side he'd seen...but of course when chelsea aren't firing on all cylinders but do a professional job, it's boring, lack of entertainment blah blah...of course no mention of this was made when untied won the title off the back of numerous unconvincing displays last season....I know the obvious response to this post is to say ' don't read it', don't let it bother you, but it's so tiresome to read this crap at all...if they're going to criticise, can't they come up with something new?

Rob Kelly, the bloke who wrote that piece looks like a yuppie JCL. He says Chelsea don't entertain him. Well tough f**king sh*t. One of today's more insidious myths is that the primary purpose of football is to entertain. No it's not. It never has been. Football is a sport, not an entertainment. if your prime motivation is the desire to be entertained, watch a f**king film.

And then there's this:

Ever since Jose Mourinho bounded into West London, Chelsea have, in my eyes, come to represent footballing pragmatism. The only time they have erred from the script was during the ill-fated spell of Luiz Felipe Scolari, in which their star shone brightly for a short, glorious period before burning out just as rapidly.

So he's also an idiot. There was nothing even remotely glorious about Scolari's not quite brief time in charge. Scolari introduced training methods and fitness regimes that were decades out of date, Scolari had the vaguest of Plan A's and a Plan B that consisted entirely of blaming anyone and everyone except himself for his own incompetence after he'd got the sack.

Never mind the performance we put in at Sunderland, that can't have been the "real" Chelsea. Oh no, the real Chelsea are only capable of grinding out results - and I swear I actually saw that self-same phrase applied to the Sunderland performance.

And as for this:

I hope Chelsea prove me wrong. I hope Ancelotti is just settling in and the players are just getting used to his methods. Maybe next week they will dazzle and enthrall, playing the kind of football that has attracted millions of fans to Manchester United, Arsenal and Barcelona. I live in hope, but little expectation.

And now he's lying through his yuppie JCL teeth. The last thing he wants is for a Chelsea team to dazzle and enthrall the likes of him, playing the kind of football that every hack journalist under the sun tells you that Manchester United play. Because if we did, he'd have to exercise his limited brain power to find another way to have a go at the club.

Football is about winning, end of discussion. Fans come from winning. Respect comes from winning. Nothing else matters. We will see where the beautiful game gets Arsenal in March. My guess is: fighting for fourth, with their ST holders berating the manager and booing their players again.

Last year, the vast majority of the footballing press was heaping praise upon us for frustrating the hell out of Barca in their own stadium. It seems to me its the same desperate sh*te merchants going over the same old drivel. Change the record, you c**ts

Journos LOVE to harp on the made up theme of chelsea being "boring" while Le Arse and Barca play "Beautiful" "fluent" passing football...I'm sorry but to me thats cr*p. I watch arsenal play, I watch barca play, and IMO they're game is no different from ours. You keep the ball, you pass it around/long ball/dribble, you put the ball in the net, you win. Those fancy triangles and runs they tell you arsenal use? well guess what, even my sunday league football team uses that, so are we entertaining? (not in the least cause we're still sh*te but thats beyond the point).

What I'm trying to say is Chelsea's passing is as beautiful if not more so. Mikel has great passes, Lamps has AWESOME passes, and yet, not as highly praised as the likes of Fabregas, Iniesta, or the "king of passes" Scholes the great (Honestly everytime he makes a pass Martin Tyler has something no less than an orgasm).

Its entertaining to me to see Chelsea play, to see the likes of Lamps and JT play, entertaining to me to see us score and win. We get stick for winning because we "bought" the league, and the only way the journos try to play it down is to brand us boring, so you know what, screw you all, cause in the end people remember winners not jokers.

The only time they have erred from the script was during the ill-fated spell of Luiz Felipe Scolari, in which their star shone brightly for a short, glorious period before burning out just as rapidly.

The fact that he thought Scolari's reign was "glorious" should speak volumes. To him it probably was, since under Big Phil we reverted back to being lovable old losers Chelsea - out of the League Cup, little prospect of winning the other two and rapidly descending the league table.

Fact is, we could play like Brazil in 1970 and these hacks would still compare us to Bolton.

Incidentally, how many Arsenal fans cared about good football when they were doing wonders for the pastime of watching paint dry under George Graham?

They loved it - why? Because they won things!

I love this . When the tabloids start hating us , something must be going right .

It was a pro performance . Fulham were beaten all ends up , whats the problem ? None . So they just want to create one .

mr kelly, i found your article efficient, functional, impressive but still dull. i’m sure you were fulfilling your job/duty to write something, to meet the quota so you can get paid for a job “well doneâ€. similarly, the footballers of chelsea were doing their job. win the game, get the 3pts, get paid and look forward to the next week. if you wanted entertainment, you could try west end or soho. or maybe invest in the new PS3 Slim coming out in september. with that, you can indulge in some fantasy football, the stuff that arsenal dishes out, but sans cups.

Thank you, gtkh. :P

Hilarious writing. So we're boring, and playing the same as we did under Jose? ive obviously missed something here!

We've gone from a 4-3-3 with a solitary striker, to playing different variations of a midfield 4 and playing two strikers together, both of whom scored yesterday, that the press were claiming "could never play together." it's laughable. A little bit of rotation, some changes in formation, coming from behind in three games to win them all, and then bossing a game and leading all the way, how droll!

Every Arsenal fan talks about the beautiful way they play, Wenger's astuteness in getting rid of players at the right time, and bringing in youth at the right time too. Shame is, other than a CL final that they lost to barca, I can't remember Arsenal being close to winning anything in recent memory. I bet they'd take the 1-0 to the Arsen-al all over again if they could keep winning. Sanctimonius w**kers.

as Lofty would say....f**k em all

Even the gooners themselves admit they need to learn to win ugly. Until they do they will win f**k all unless it's a knock out competition

And now we get the next step of trying to disrupt chelsea. the star today is saynig anelka is furious over his contract negotiations which looks to me like them trying to stir it up again. its amazing how these kind of storys only come out when were playing well and everything at the club is looking good.

Thank you, gtkh. :)

I hate not understanding things! Please Ruh Buh JUh, I've tried really hard and I can't work out what gtkh means.
