Our next manager

Featured Replies

Lets face it, between Jose and Guus, JT was the manager.

Maybe not the next manager, but defintley a future manager.

I thought this thread might be about Robbie D, given his West Brom are on fire at the moment. (I know you posted before today's games started geezer)

He really is looking like a very intelligent manager, although it is early days still, but would be amazing if he came back to the Bridge one day.

He comes across as a remarkable people-person, a future master of relationships with both players and management. He also sounds very industrious, ambitious, dedicated and meticulous.

Just when you think you couldn't love him more ;)

A few of our boys are doing well in their managerial roles. Zola and Clarkey (I still hold out hope that they might come to Chelsea, but I doubt it) at the ammers, Roberto is doing very well with WBA, and then Super Dan is doing more than well in Romania. I'd like for any one of those 3, counting Zola and Clarkey as 1, to be given a shot at Chelsea. Also, Dan stated that the only team he'd coach in Britain would be Chelsea.

I think Terry,as Captain and middle man, is learning the intricacies of dealing with Players and Heirarchy which will be more than important in the future. Talking with the likes of Zola, learning under Jose, Guus and now Carlo all makes for an impressive CV. Who knows, maybe a Terry Lampard coaching duo in the future.....although I doubt that seriously.

I think Terry could fill a role as Assistant Coach under one of our future managers, and then make the step. I don't think he'll be given a straight shot immediately. I mean, who wouldn't welcome the idea of SUper Dan and John Terry at the helm?

I would rather have Lampard as manager. The bloke is ridiculously smart on and off the field, I think he would be a cracking manager.

John Terry as his assistant would be better, as its their job to be a bit closer to the players and he would have no problem with that.

I wouldn't mind that. JT would be Clarkey to Lampards' Mourinho ;)

I agree with Tim and Brit, JT is the only person who would try and get as much money as he could. Everyone else would take £2k, a packet of crisps and a penny whistle.

Forget the penny whistle and the jobs yours

I think zola will be given a shot at manager some time in the future. Maybe after Carlo depending how successful his stint is. Would love to see any of our ex players as manager in the future to be honest but people are right when they say they need to prove themselves elsewhere first

Completely agree with this.

oh have i broken the no 1 rule of this site again, thou shalt not criticise JT? shame on me! maybe he will wait for man citeh to ask him to manage them before discussing terms with chelsea...oh silly me, he'd never do that.

or he might just stay at chelsea and turn down a massive amount of money to move to city after making sure certain players are kept at the club and hes happy with the clubs ambitions. well done on getting all your information from the sun.

Not if you have a reason to criticize him besides getting a new contract that will keep him in the club for another 5 years. Maybe it's just me, but that's a reason for praise, not criticism ?

These are the facts: He has been with us all of his career, he has won us countless trophies, and he wants to stay on and manage us after his playing days are over.

But you only see a dark side to him, a player full of greed, a player willing to talk to other clubs to enhance his own salary talks with his present club.

Its a shame you cannot join in with us and rejoice in the most successful club captain in our 104 year exsistance.

LOL! Okay Brit, whatever you say. I'm not sure I said you can't criticise JT... Hang on hang on, I'll read my post again

...

No, nope I didn't. Didn't think so. How strange. So no shame on you at all.

Of course JT would get what he bloody well could, and so would every other f*cker on this planet.

So what's wrong with Brit and I not basking in the sun that radiates from JT's arse, you don't have to love everything and everyone in SW6 to support the club.

Of course not, I don't particularly think the sun shines out of JT arse, nor even Frank's, but to say he'll demand the highest wage like he's a greedy sod is a bit off the mark for me. As I said, no one who is offered the job would take the smallest amount offered, they'll use it and take the club for every penny they can, it's not something only John would do.

True, I generally think all footballers are overpaid not just JT.
