The crunch time

Featured Replies

We have started the season really well until the blip against Wigan, if I may call this as such. Wigan played very well and I was impressed with their quality overall.

However, is this the beginning of our crunch time ? A time where the team needs to stick together? The next 2 Premiership games will expose our true ambition - Scousers and Villa - We have lost the initiatives while United have already beaten Man City, Spurs and Arsenal( not forgetting that United won 5-0 at Wigan !).

is this the beginning of another Scolari decline? Thus far, we have not met top opposition and when we did, we were lucky to win 1-0 against Porto or secure a draw in the Community Shield.

I do not think it is an issue with the gaffer even though we are playing a new diamond system. What Chelsea needs is an overhaul, with Ballack, Carvalho, Cech, Lampard, Anelka, Belletti and Lamps all on the wrong side of 30s. It is not an immediate renewal. I just hope they can be like Ryan Giggs who goes on playing like forever but we really need the likes of Borini & Sturridge to fill the gaps of the next generation.

In this respect, Arnesen has failed us miserably. While Wenger could boast about blooding new talent, we cannot claim the same light as we have not seen another JT stepping up, except maybe Mancienne. Players such as Ben Sahar failed to make the grade and were shipped out.

So let's stick together and support the team. We need a good reaction against Nicosia. The way Liverpool is playing at the moment scares me and I do want a win at Stamford Bridge to widen the gap. Let's bring the bridge down.

Well the fact we havnt exactly played a side of real quality apart from Porto and our failure to outplay Wigan yesterday concerns me .Lets be honest here , with the players we have , theres no excuse not to win away at Wigan.

Everybody looked at our impressive start without realising were not really that impressive

I really hope we come back like a wounded animal next Sunday and get big performances from everybody because this is C.A. moment to show how good a manager he is . Liverpool @ the bridge last season were fortunate to get a goal from a deflection , but after that we lost confidence and i felt we lost belief and had no ideas.

Sunday is a game we must win to restore confidence but with 2 big players missing its a difficult game for us . I think Drogba and a fully fit Joey can get us the result .

I know im going to have a nervous week thinking about next Sunday.

Seriously. I'll be amazed and I'll even apologise profoundly and sincerely if chelseamatters isn't octville in disguise. However, apart from the writing style, there's one very blatant clue ... and I'll give you a clue to the clue.

6 letter word beginning with "G" that I can only ever remember octville using in that particular context.

Or I could be way off the mark.

The plot thickens.

It still worries me that a) the "Plan B" on Saturday was "Kalou" same as last season; Ray Wilkins is still sitting next to the manager

By the way Cech is 27.

IMO the game against the Dippers will be a true test to Carlo Ancelotti and our chances of bringing home the tittle. Ashley Cole's injury status is uncertain, Cech will be suspended and Torres is on form. If we loose the game against the scouse it will be deja-vu from last season and Scolari who also had a run of winning games at the beginning. We need a solid defence who keeps Torres quiet, a fighting midfield, a Drogba on target and Kalou in the stands, not the bench.. Stamford Bridge also needs to be on their toes creating good atmosphere even if Torres scores the first goal, get behind our team.

Liverpool has been shaky in away matches so far this season, lucky to get away with a couple of 3:2. At home against the teams in bottom half of the table, once a early goal in, a landslide is always on the card. Torres has been good, but if we play the way we did in the CL Anfield tie, we should get over those scums comfortably.

sorry for the error...hi lofty...i am new here, so please go ez on me. Just having similar style doesn't mean we are alike :P

Ok octville.

Could be a Scolari deja vu, start well, then everything goes bad, I fear this. Let's hope it wont be.

f**king hell mate, weve lost one game. in the chat on saturday immediately after the game you said that was our prem season over which was a ridiculous thing to say. football is becoming ridiculous now, after 10 games we were being lauded as champions elect and carlo was a demi god for what he was doing, one defeat later and were sh*t and carlo is gonna get sacked. take that detestable piece of human excrement stan collymore in his column in the mirror. hes never mentioned us once so far this season, never even whispered about how well we weer playing. yet the minute we lose hes in their telling us how were beginning to crumble and its all gonna go badly wrong. what a f**king joke.

Well said that man!

I've learnt to be pessimistic supporting Chelsea over the years but blimey!!

6 games 6 wins, the league is ours...... 1 defeat later, a game we finished with 9 men on the pitch, and our seasons over.

We've beaten every side we've played this season when we've had 11 men on the pitch.....lets not get carried away with 1 defeat, a game where our keeper was sent off after an hour.

At least with the transfer ban we won't have endless posts about who we should sign because XYZ is sh*te etc....

And octville, let me remind you, only ever appears after a defeat. It is a well known, indisputable Law Of Nature, and The Shed End that:.

the heavier and more irritating the defeat,

the more likely it is that octville will put in an appearance

So the question is, was octville Chelsea Matters all along?

Chelsea Matter's facebook page

Was he actually a she, could the poster formerly known as octville really truly be, a young, relatively unknown Australian model? Who enjoys or has been known to enjoy a game of golf in Malaysia perhaps?

Could there perhaps be a strange, surreal relationship between a golf-obsessed umm... person from Malaysia with a doom laden (no relation to Bin Laden.. or is he?????) football related fetish and the aforementioned relatively unknown Australian model?

Or is octville simply a few slices short of a loaf?

Well said. Its a long way to go and we arent even 20% of the way there.

P.S. I think Arnesen is the new Kenyon around here

Sorry Lofty...I am not heading into your direction. Who is octville?

Someone just told me that Arse and Manchester united won 4-0 and 5-0 at a place we lost.

I hope it's just a blip. There's just too many times in the past few seasons that Chelsea did not deliver when it matters.

I will read up some of Octville's old posting, just to please you.

But I agree...it was only 1-3 because we lost Cech. Chelsea could have easily won this after Drogba's equaliser.

Yeah you do that octville.

You apparently miss the entire point of the thread that lead up to my "not even going there" comment. It was a er ... joke. You know? Apparently not.

Who is octville? You is octville.

You can't pull the wool over Special Agent Lofty's eyes. He can sniff out an Octville from a thousnad paces.
