I like Dance music to be either Drum & Bass or Dubstep, something to get your teeth into as opposed to 'jiving around handbags'. Each to their own though, I realise it all really started from House.

I'm not a fan of the American country music style known as bluegrass. But a legend died this week. His name was Earl Scruggs and he single-handedly changed the way the banjo was played. He invented a completely new method of picking, a method which was more complicated and more entertaining.

I have, moi, thanks. Not my cup of tea. I tend towards emotionally charged music. Most stuff just annoys me, noisy and not emotive. I enjoy anything that gets a bit deeper. Could be melancholy, like the Moonlight Sonata. Could be ecstatic, like good blues. Soulful, like Piaf. Irrepressibly joyful, like Clifton Chenier. It may be that I have a thick skin, musically. I can go a long time without listening.
