The first team will be back in action this Saturday tof ace a City side that has forgotten how to win league games but will be buoyed by their CC QF win.

I would like to see pretty much the same team that beat Arsenal starting with the exception maybe of Malouda in ahead of Joe.

Hopefully we put the CC behind us now, and get back to the form that's got us top of the league.

As ever the premiership is the main event. I'd happily swap the champions league, carling cup and the fa cup together for the premiership.

Man City beat Arsenal and have lost less than us this season. This will be as tough as the Man U game I reckon.

Not having seen the blackburn game its hard to know what to make of the players, but I'm anticipating we will have to watch the pace of SWP & Bellamy and keep a lookout for the power and skill of adabayor. Adabayor is a serious rival to dd in my view and this will be something of a showdown between the two. Their front line will be the toughest we play against in the Premier this season, arguably better than Manu and certainly better than Arsenal. However its easty to back a fit Ashley against SWP. On the right side though Ivan will have his work cut out against either Bellamy or Robinho (another with something to prove).

Bridge & SWP also bear a grudge.

In recent games Lescott has been prone to switching off at various times and we should be able to match them in the midfield.

Assuming Alex is injured the back and front of the team picks itself, the diamon is another matter.

Neither J Cole nor Deco has looked a fixture so far, Malouda might arguably be ahead of both but won't be picked in the centre. I prefer Essien in the holding role which means Ballack on the right.

So my diamon has Essien, Ballack Lampard and and and Joe Cole (fractionally more defensive)

Another big game and a win would mean a lot. I don't think ManC will have a shot at the title, but we still can't afford to lose points against them. To me they are one of the teams that might snatch a few points from the big teams and to get three points against them can prove really important come the end of season.

Many players rested against Blackburn, even though some - like Drogba - got a bit more time than we had expected (45+30).

Still I expect us to play more or less the same team as we did against Arsenal. Only question is the midfield apart from Essien and Lampard. Will Ballack replace Mikel and who will take the position at the tip of the diamond; Joey, Deco or Malouda?

I'd go with:

Cech in goal.

Defensive line with Ivanovic, Riccy, JT, AC.

Midfield consisting of Mikel, Lampard, Essien & Joey.

Strikers are Drogba and Anelka.

Bench: Hilario, Alex, Zhirkov, Ballack, Deco, Malouda, Borini.

Not sure if Alex is still injured. If so then I guess Bruma might replace him. And if Sturridge is available then he might be on the bench instead of Borini.

Essien is doing prity good upfront so i doubt as well if ballack will get a look in . Does anyone remember if ballack ever missed a penalty before blackburn ?

City have generally turned up for the big games this season so it wont be easy .

No, but I well recall the one he scored against ManU a couple of seasons back. What a cracker. I was surprised to read he'd missed one as I see him as the best penalty taker in the club.

I dont really think Joe Cole did good so far, but we dont have a real choice. Malouda cant play at the top of the diamond. And Deco was just not good enough in the last matches. Once again Malouda deserves a start but will probably be on the bench again. Another option would be Lampard at the top of the diamond and Malouda on the left.

Hope Drogba is not too tired after playing 75minutes against Blackburn.

Pretty much what i rate as our strongest 11 with the exception of bossy at right back. Think there is a good chance carvahlo might start this though. Put them away 3-1 at eastlands last year here's hoping for a repeat performance, except maybe with another clean sheet.

It´s really just a few spots on the midfield that could differ. I really like essien as a more offensive player. Aldaught he is probably the best defensive midfielder in the world. And mikel is doing a great job covering for essien at the rear. And maybe joey is not in perfect shape yet i think, but you really love his game, he runs til he gets carried of the pitch. but still i miss malouda.

Im kind of nervous about tomorrow. manC are really strong.

I really think he will be play, but I doubt hes going to be 100% fit. Zhirkov would be a good back-up, so I´m not worried.
