Unfortunatley he was before my time so never got to see him play, but i have only ever heard good things about him from chelsea and other supporters.

coincidentally its 30 years since Dixie Dean died. Two absolute greats.

Yeah , good call mate , from what i was told Dean was a fantastic player . Good of you to post.

I missed the start of the game Saturday, was there any mention of Ossie? shame Frank didn't kiss the Penalty spot again.

Great player and top bloke.

I'm too young to have seen the great man play but have seen him on my dads videos. He was brilliant and was my dads favourite. We even had a blue budgie called Ossie! Dixon was my hero growing up, hence my username being a mix of the two Chelsea greats.

Man, it does not seem like that long ago. The tributes were fantastic and totally fitting of the King.

RIP

the osgood chants at the hawthorns four years ago was one of the most touching moments I have ever witnessed in football- it was easy to see how much he meant to so many.

His goal at OT in the Cup Final Replay still makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up, just as it did the night I saw it happen on the telly.

Thanks to Evertonlad for the respect too, ;) please accept mine to Dixie Dean.

Me too. Just unforgettable. A truly beautiful goal.

Good post Clubhappy.

My best memory of Chelsea as a young lad was Ossie's header from Charlie Cooke's pinpoint pass in the replay against dirty Leeds.

Thanks so much Ossie. We love you. Rest in peace.
