Do a search of Chelsea Rangers Linfield - Blues Brothers you'llo find all you need.

Rule Britannia, Britannia rules the waves

Britons never never never shall be slaves.

I see the guys selling those at stalls. Morons.

Don't worry, following Rangers isn't compulsory for Chelsea fans :panic button:

Different Chelsea fans have different reasons for liking Rangers. When I was young my uncle gave me a load of football programmes that he'd collected over the years, nearly all Chelsea, but also some from when he'd been travelling about. One of those was the Rangers v Real Zaragoza programme from the mid-60's, and after reading it I became very interested in Rangers and started watching out for their results. They quickly became my favourite Scottish team (I'm half Scots), mainly because they wore blue like Chelsea. This was still the 60's, and I didn't know anything about sectarianism, and wouldn't have cared if I had.

In 1971, Chelsea played Rangers at the Bridge, it was Ron Harris's testimonial. I'd been going to all Chelsea's home games for a few years by then, but I couldn't believe the support Rangers brought down for that game. They had the best away support I've ever seen at the Bridge, and I was well impressed. I've followed Rangers nearly as much as I've followed Chelsea since I was a kid, and went to see them at Ibrox when I lived in Scotland briefly. The Rangers fans always made me feel very welcome, and I made some good friends up there.

During the 70's, there was always one half of the Shed singing "Rangers", while the other half sang "Celtic". This came to an end with the London bombings, understandably enough. I saw loads of London based Celtic fans round about this time with IRA tattoos on their arms, and this didn't exactly endear them to Londoners - I wonder why?

I can't and won't try to speak for other Chelsea fans' affiliation with Rangers. If they want to post their reasons, all well and good, if they don't, that's their prerogative - why should they feel they have to answer to the likes of you?

Speaking for myself, I don't give a flying f*ck what a persons religion is, and don't judge people on it - maybe you should try and do the same. I can't see that happening any time soon though, as you've already jumped to your own conclusions as to why Chelsea & Rangers fans are so friendly, and made your own judgements based on those ignorant conclusions. I'll freely admit that there are Chelsea fans who support Rangers because of the sectarian divide, but don't go judging everybody the same and calling them morons, it just makes you look like a c*nt.

Personally I support Celtic, but that is only because I followed them when Henrik Larsson played there. If they wouldn't win the league now I wouldn't really care.

I was referring to the guys at the stalls that sell these tees, come on for f*ck sake - The tee shirts in question have Chelsea Hooligans written on nearly all of them, is that something you are proud of? Is that a coincidence perhaps?

1. Guys with tattoos of terrorist organisations are the real c*nts here, not me - They should be at Celtics ground if they are singing celtic songs, not Chelsea's. The point of going to Stamford bridge and sitting in the shed end is to support Chelsea, not celtic, not rangers, not any other club.

2. I haven't asked anyone to rationalise why they support all 3 teams, although they look a bit f*cking confused to me.

3. Clearly I am not bigoted as essentially I am complaining about sectarianism ....

I think if you want to sing about Rangers or Celtic, why not bugger off to their ground and do it.

It is embarrassing.

I was referring to the guys at the stalls that sell these tees, come on fo f*ck sake - They have Chelsea Hooligans written on nearly all of them, is that something you are proud of? Is that a coincidence perhaps? I wouldn't be surprised if you are wearing one whilst you type this..

I just explained at some length why I follow Rangers, making it clear that I do so not on religious or bigoted grounds. And yet you say you wouldn't be surprised if I was wearing a "Blues Brothers" shirt or badge while I typed. From this I can only assume that 1) you didn't read my post properly; or 2) you're a f*ckin' idiot.

You really are quite a tit, aren't you? Let's take your other points one by one...

In my original post, I mentioned that it was in the 70's that the Rangers/Celtic chants were sung. I also mentioned that this stopped in the 70's, so why are you assuming that it still goes on???

2. I haven't asked anyone to rationalise why they support all 3 teams, they look a bit f*cking confused to me.

Your original post in this thread was "And why do we care about Rangers?". So if anyone 'looks a bit f*cking confused', it's you, pal

3. Clearly I am not bigoted as essentially I am complaining about sectarianism ....

Where did I, or anybody else, say that you were bigoted? Nobody did, so you're talking sh*te.

I think if you want to sing about Rangers or Celtic, why not bugger off to their ground and do it.

Again, this all stopped in the 70's

It is embarrassing.

No, you are embarrassing yourself mate, as I said before, you're just making yourself look a c*nt

I can't be arsed going through dissecting your twisted logic retort, but whatever, support as many teams as you want.

Christ.

If there's anybody out there who has followed this thread (other than Zola), could you possibly tell me if I've used a 'twisted logic retort' at all? I'm serious, I thought I was explaining myself pretty clearly, but possibly not... :300: Or maybe Zola just wants an argument :317:

I have been to bars around the Bridge surrounded by Chelsea fans from , Portadown, Shankill road, glasgow etc etc, with chants such as 'No surrender to the IRA, , never bothered me in the slightest , in fact it went way over my head and i certainly wasnt offended and i certainly didnt walk out . Chants like that are part of supporting Chelsea . Im not politically minded, in fact i couldnt give a f**k, Chelsea is all im interested in and if i have to hear these chants fair enough.

Ive met BJD while he was here in Dublin, hes a top bloke and a Rangers fan , he never came across as any kind of bigot because he supported Rangers , just a guy who followed Chelsea with a passion and a love for Rangers ,he embraced our country , the people and our culture and loved living here . I dont know Bluebeard personally , but hes certainly no religious bigot and if he supports Rangers then fine with me and i also find him a very intelligent man and i love his sence of humour. NEVER once has he insulted me because of his love for Rangers ,BJD neither.

Zola, im not having a go at you mate, just giving it my view.

^ So does that make me a bigot?

Bigot

(Noun)

a person who is utterly intolerant of any differing creed, belief, or opinion.

There's an example, but I will leave it at that. I can't be arsed arguing to be honest.

I'm just sick of this hooligan nonsense dressed up with patriotic garbage. For the record I am of full English blood, i'm not some bitter Irish man who loves Chelsea but hates Britain.

Your posts read perfectly logically to me, BlueBeard. It was not you who asked "What do we care about Rangers?" (or words to that effect) and who replied that he had all day long to listen to the answer.

You explained logically and succinctly why you feel a bond between Chelsea and Rangers, at the same time distancing yourself from any sectarian beliefs. I can't see the problem. He asked a question, he got a lucid answer.

I wasn't asking for a history lesson, I was asking sarcastically as to why we cant focus our attentions soley on Chelsea.

You're not supposed to support 3 teams, surely...

No, it doesn't make you bigoted at all, it just means that you made a very sweeping statement and that makes you seem very judgemental about people you've never met

See above

What hooligan nonsense is it you're talking about? I'm not being funny, I genuinely don't know what you mean. Nobody accused you of being a bitter Irishman, I didn't question your nationality or religion, mainly because it's none of my bloody business. I've nothing against anybody who follows any religion, even though I'm a borderline atheist. Similarly, I've nothing against any other race or nationality (apart from the French, obviously).

Maybe you should take a look at your own attitude before speculating on the attitudes of others?

I wasn't asking for a history lesson, I was asking sarcastically as to why we cant focus our attentions soley on Chelsea.

You're not supposed to support 3 teams, surely...

And which three teams would they be? I've followed both Chelsea and Rangers for over 40 years, who's the third team I support??? Are you having some kind of breakdown?

Moi - thanks for that, I thought I was going mad

Clubhappy - thanks for your kind words, mate, I'll buy the first pint if and when we ever meet up!

Rub Buh Juh - get back to your sheep-shagging :317:

Phillip - no, you can't support Lazio and Schalke, Zola has made it quite clear that is not an option :300:

"No, it doesn't make you bigoted at all, it just means that you made a very sweeping statement and that makes you seem very judgemental about people you've never met"

Ah, so I shouldn't be judgmental about the yobs who sell tee shirts promoting hooliganism and hatred in the name of our club?

I'm not talking about you specifically supporting 3 teams................
