Florent Malouda

Featured Replies

Dead set, this guy has had more ups and downs in his few years at Chelsea than most could have over 10 years.

He was promising, then terrible, then excellent, then rubbish, but lately, he has sustained some truly excellent performances, consistently being either the best or second best on the pitch for us.

One of our most important players. If he keeps up the form till the end of the season, we're a great chance.

What's more, he looks like he is enjoying his football a lot more, and has become a source of assists and goals regularly.

Hats of to you Florent for establishing yourself as a vital cog in Chelsea's 4-3-3 system. The diamond doesn't suit him, but anytime he plays LW, he proves his true worth.

P.S....some of his haircuts have been attrocious

Undoubtedly the best left winger in the league at the moment....maybe on current form, the world.

He's certainly become more composed in front of goal, and its done his confidence the world of good. He uses both feet to shoot, scoring from each yesterday, the right foot goal showed superb composore. But confidence seems to be the key with Malouda, and at the moment he's got plenty.

Exactly right...he's as confident and enjoying his football as much as I have ever seen.

Always getting round fullbacks, providing crosses, and other dangerous passes...and you're right...he's suddenly got his shooting boots on, and whenever he's in space, I genuinely think he will score.

Lampard is now like that too. There was a stage Lampard couldn't hit the target, but his goal glut lately should inspire confidence.

Still wish Nico and J.Co could score though ::clap2::

First part is true, second part I don't buy. There is still Messi out there. But anyway he is brilliant at the moment as he's been since Guus-era started. Would be great to see those Malouda-bashing reply's on this forum now. They were cruel and in numbers =). Mostly true though. Now we have to remind to give players time to feel at home in Chelsea.

Against United Malouda needs to be even better. Sadly it's a must win. I think even a draw could be too little from that game. If we win I think we'll cruise till the end of the season.

I was thinking Messi was playing on the right...haven't seen any of Barca's games lately. My bad.

He's playing well...that's the important thing.

I think there might be more to come as well.

I hope your right. He's been awesome for most parts of this season and it was Hiddink who had said that Malouda's game sense is as good as any in our squad - we now know what he was referring to. Its him and Lampard that hold the key to our success at OT and the remaining of the season.

You are right, Messi is playing on the right wing.

Even when he's at his peak, though, I still think that Malouda is no world beater. He's a solid leftwinger, but not at the level of Duff or Robben at their peak. (Let alone a Giggs or Overmars).

Still I welcome his form considering that until Lamp's recent resurgence our midfield has had a lacklustre year, to say the least.

What really annoys me is when the pundits say he's been terrific for the last 3 or 4 weeks, when in fact he has been superb for the last 14 months or so. Something really clicked for him when Hiddink arrived and he's kept on going since then whether it's been left wing, left midfield or in the hole like he did against Arsenal at home.

I honestly think we'd be the best team in the world if we had a player like him on the right.

If he can sustain this form it will be excellent for us. For me, he is a contender for player of the season with Drogba, Lampard and Ivanovic.

No Ashley? Has a better shout than Ivan and Lampard imo. Think with Ivan that expectations were so low that when he proved he's a very capable player people went overboard. No doubt he's been immense but Ashley and Drogba are the outstanding players of our season. Shame about Aneka because up until Christmas he as superb.

It's widely known that the worse his haircut is, the better he plays. :D

I am beginning to think its true! God knows he was awful for us when he was bald.

I am really and truly eating the criticism I have had of him in the past. He turned a real corner when Hiddink came along, but his recent form has been truly world class. Definitely player of the year material. Long may it continue under Carlo!

I see him as one of the deciding facotos this Saturday. Unite's right back is one of the few weak links they have, they may play Park on the right hand side to track back against Malouda. Zhirkov appears to get better after a few games in a row, these 2 will be real threats down that left flank

Malouda and Zhirkov together can become one heck of a one-two punch. Hope it all works out on saturday.
