Chelsea vs Stoke (Prem) 25/04/10 1600 KO

Posting this early in a forlorn attempt to put yesterday's result behind me.

Spurs! How could you??? Bah..

Still in a foul mood.

The enforced change of Terry due to what can only be described as stupidity of Graham Poll proportions. Ivan will slot in alongside Alex (I am assuming Carvalho won't be rushed back as I believe he is about a week from fitness) with Paulo retaining his place on the right hand side.

I am hoping Ashley Cole plays some part at some point as however well Zhirkov played against Bolton he is not in Cole's class and we have games coming up thta need us at our very best.

Do we have any news on Mikel? I'd imagine we'll line up like this:

------------------Cech

Ferreira-----Alex-----Ivan----Cole

---------------Ballack

-----Deco---------------Lampard ©

J Cole-------Anelka--------Malouda

Maybe we should give Alex the captaincy. He's pretty intimidating...

Also still in a terrible mood. Although I'm wondering whether it will rival the last time we lost to the scum, when I was in a bad mood for literally two weeks.

Yep, i'll third the terrible mood club. Already moaned at the missus this morning and shouted at the cat.

Last night i was insufferable and i dont are what anyone says , the answer is in the botton of the glass.

We used our get out of jail card at White Hart Lane - it was a shocking performance and a few players let us down badly. Namely our capatain who seems to be untouchable when it comes to critiscm by some who prefer to lay the blame on easy targets like Deco and Paulo on the basis that they simply had bad games rather than acting like spoilt children and playing selfishly for 90 mins.

Having spurned our four point lead four days after obtaining it we cant afford any slip ups, we cant start looking at Utds games and hope they drop points - we just need to look at our own and take it for granted they are going to win all their games and thus, and so must we.

Ultimatley, I think deep inside, we all know its going to come down to what happens at Anfield and heaven help us two weeks today. Its going to be a hell of an afternoon.

Anyway, Stoke first and I think a week off will do our boys good and we can regroup and the coaching staff can hopefully get them in the right frame of mind.

At this stage i dont care about the lineup i just want the coaches to pick the best team to win the game. Three times, please.

Bring Cole and Essien back... although maybe just have Essien on the bench, don't want to rush him back.

Anelka

Zhirkov---------------------------Kalou

Malouda Lampard

Essien

Cole Alex Ivanovich Ferreira

Cech

With a bench along the lines of Hilario, Carvalho Deco, Ballack, Drogba, Cole, and Bruma on it. We'll have some options to change the game should we need to. We'd have our most pacy midfield in to try and overrun them, and a pacy front line too. With the option of bringing on Joe Cole, Deco or Drogba, or even Ballack if we need to change it up a bit.

I too am still in a foul mood, but f**k it. Onwards and upwards. It's still in our hands.

I disagree. Give Essien the last 30 minutes or so if he is fit, and then start him at Anfield. Liverpool plays in EL just days before our visit to them so we have to take advantage of their tired legs.

And keep Ferreira out of the team of course. Bruma as center-half alongside Alex, and Ivanovic at rightback. Ethrington are going to kill us if he gets to chance to run against Ferreira.

Yeah, that could be an option, but we'd have to play Ballack as a holding midfielder (assuming Mikel isn't fit) which isn't ideal in my view. Although he could be, I dunno. I would rather risk Ferreira at right back, than Bruma at centre back against Stoke, considering how they play.

Id keep Ferreira on the right, Stoke isn't known for their speedy wingplay, he'll be okay. This is hardly the time to blood youngsters, with the title on the line every point counts. I'll just move Ivanovic to his natural spot in the center.

The only question mark in the back is whether to replace Zhirkov with Ashley. If Cole's fully fit he should start but Yury has been probably our best player over the last couple of games and with the team struggling to create upfront maybe there's a way to accommodate all three of Zhirkov,A.Cole and Malouda right from the start.

CECH

PAULO....IVANOVIC...ALEX......A.COLE

.......................MIKEL

.............LAMPARD.....ZHIRKOV...

..ANELKA............DROGBA.......MALOUDA

I want to see:

Cech

Bruma - Alex - Ivan - Cole

Lampard - Deco - Mikel

Cole - Drogba - Malouda

I guess we'll see:

Cech

Ferreira - Alex - Ivan - Zhirkov

Lampard - Mikel - Deco/Ballack

Cole/Anelka - Drogba/Anelka - Malouda

My dream would be:

Cech

Ivan - Riccy - Alex - Cole

Essien - Deco/Mikel - Lampard

Cole - Drogba - Malouda

I fear we'll see:

Cech

Ivan - Ferreira - Alex - Zhirkov

Ballack - Mikel - Lampard

Kalou - Drogba - Anelka

Just for fun:

Cech

Bruma - Alex - Ivan - van Aanholt

Lampard - Deco - Matic

Kakuta - Borini - Malouda

If you can't tell by now, I am extremely bored

Our whole outlook on the game will be a lot clearer after the ManU game either we will be 2pts adrift or still top. Whatever it is we must start this game with a purpose and really push on for goals, goal difference could still be crucial.

So once again we play after the mancs, wouldnt surprise me if we play after them every week until the last game.

They'll probably field a backline of Huth - Faye - Higginbotham - Collins.

All of them are either lumps or Championship-level defenders, so if we field someone with a bit of pace or trickery in the frontline they won't be able to handle it.

Anelka and Malouda should be shoe-ins, and really it would be an ideal time to start Kakuta, but I'd imagine we'll be seeing Joe Cole instead.

So once again we play after the mancs, wouldnt surprise me if we play after them every week until the last game.

Obviously we can't play before the red Mancs on the last day of the season, but our match against Liverpool is played just before the red Mancs play against Sunderland.

So once again we play after the mancs, wouldnt surprise me if we play after them every week until the last game.

It' been like that for f**king years, it's an absolute f**king joke.

We play the day after they play the spuds, then we play liverpiss at 1.30 utd play sunderland at 16.00, then we all paly at 16.00 on the final day.

Lets hope steve bruce doesnt role over for SAF

::ChElSeaFLag::

Had to get drunk last night so as i could sleep & i know im not going to sleep properly all week .

Horrible isn't it? Exactly how it'll be for me.

The team I'd like to see start against Stoke is as follows:-

----------------------------------Cech------------------------------

Ferreira---------------Alex-----------------Ivan------------A.Cole

------------------Lampard---------Mikel-----------Zkirkov--------

------------------Kalou------------Anelka---------Malouda-------

Stoke are scrappy long ball artists who rely on set pieces and Rory Delap for long ball throw ins. I am looking forward to a relatively easy victory and predict a 3-0 win for us.

Onwards and Upwards, Chelsea!

week off, fresh legs, good bollocking about the spuds fiasco and the mighty Chels should take the 3 points

not the time to blood inexperienced youngsters despite some crappy individual performances at the lane

our home form should see us beat Stoke and Wigan but beware they are similar type of teams to Bolton so the winning tactics, motivation and team spirit must all be there in the Chelsea camp

cannot worry about the scum mancs now, we all know red face will have them well up for it and they most likely will win all their games; so Chelsea now have to do likewise, what an end to the season ! as for the gooners they blew it today, so its defo a 2 horse race race now, maybe down to a photo finish on the last day when thankfully we play at the Bridge, by then lets hope Wigan are safe and unmotivated.

Onward & Upwards.....KTF !

I'd love to see that, with the exception of Ferreira for Ivan of course, but against Stoke, we need Drogba to help defend those throw-ins.

You want Ferreira at centre back and want Drogba just to defend the throw ins?

I think Drogba playing would be a really, really bad idea. Or at least starting him would be. We'd end up pumping the ball up to him, and playing a long ball game against Stoke isn't the way to go. Anelka's pace would give them far more problems.

Also, surely Zhirkov should be on the wing and Malouda inside? Malouda has shown that he can play in the centre, and Zhirkov has shown he can't.
