coombsie Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 It was mentioned tonight on SSN that "an England" footballer had today been granted a continuation of the gagging order that prevents the misuse of private and personal information about him. In other words he was granted what JT was not - WHY ???? And any clues to who it might be?? I reckon it might be a certain balding forward with a liking for the much older woman !!!! If I'm slow on this its cos I'm just back from hols and I did not buy a paper.

I believe I read somewhere that JT did have one of these injunctions, and the sh*t hit the fan when the injunction was lifted, and the press could then report it.
wicksy Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 Apparently one of them is definitely Stevie G. Man Utd fanzines regularly write about it apparently, but for legal reasons have to be very careful what they say exactly. Why JT's injunction was lifted but SG's has been upheld for so long is a mystery to me and seems to be an absolute travesty. Allegedly that's why JT and SG were in 2 different camps during the world cup (according to a Manure friend of mine)
Cam Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 I hope the injunctions are lifted. Chelsea players and fans copped a load of sh*t over the JT saga, and it's only fair other fans and players should get the same chance...to be disgraced by the media.

But I suppose it'll be all JT's fault
Blue Steel Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 I don't see how gagging orders are legal anyway, the press should be allowed to print what they like providing its true.
TheWestwayWonder Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 There's justice for you. Protect the reputation of the wealthy and famous.....except when its someone already in the media's crosshairs and then just let fly with any old accusation you want. The whole business of superinjunctions and armies of lawyers getting involved is just ridiculous. I wouldnt be at all shocked if this "mystery footballer" is allowed to get away with it after what happened to JT, because the whole injunction never wouldve lasted that long. I thought the whole case against JT was that it was in the interest of "freedom of information" to publish all that. its all a joke
Tim Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 Er, just to check, are we absolutely certain neither of the injunctions concerns a Chels player?
TheWestwayWonder Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 Er, just to check, are we absolutely certain neither of the injunctions concerns a Chels player? I think the previailing logic there is that if they did, it would be out by now. We only have two other England internationals, and if it was Ashley it would sure as hell be out by now.
yorkleyblue Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 the EA Fifaonline forum has a thread about this with a poll about who the users think it is - The poll includes Drogba! AND two fecking muppets have voted for him! How does Drogba fit into "Current England International" and "Played for several top PL clubs"?

Liverpool fans are not only the bestest but also the most knowledgeablest in the Wherld. everyone knows that. it's an istrionical fact.
The Moos Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 I don't see how gagging orders are legal anyway, the press should be allowed to print what they like providing its true. But how often is it true? Look at JT. The only thing they got right was that they had been together, but whilst JT and the woman were together as friends the press said they had an affair. The press are a load of rumour-spreading liars who only care about printing the most dirty stories - no matter if they're true or not - and get as many readers as possible. the EA Fifaonline forum has a thread about this with a poll about who the users think it is - The poll includes Drogba! That would rule Gerrard out as well. He hasn't played for any top clubs.
PloKoon13 Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 "Current England international" and "played for several PL clubs" seems to suggest Peter Crouch.
TomW Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 "Current England international" and "played for several PL clubs" seems to suggest Peter Crouch. It said in the Daily Mail that he is a father of one.
moi Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 It said in the Daily Mail that he is a father of one. One what?
Hutch Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 (edited) One what? one or the other, so rumour has it. Edited August 27, 2010 by stride
Barry Bridges Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 "Current England international" and "played for several PL clubs" seems to suggest Peter Crouch. Crouch, Johnson, Defoe....
clubhappy Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 Dont thinks its Crouch because it says , ' A continuation ' so its an issue that has been ongoing.
