gee Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 Now that Bosingwa's back from his long term injury, do you think he'll come immediately back into the side?, or, with Ivanovic's strong performances, will he keep his place?
Wolfy Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 Gotta be Bosingwa for me. Ivavovic is awesome but if Bossy raids the right flank like A Cole raids the left we will tear teams apart
Maverick Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 As much as I love Ivanovic and admire him for his performance as a right back last year, Bosingwa adds another dimension to your attack. With Alex and Terry both having fitness concerns I am sure Ivanovic will get a fair share of games at CB.
Bobbywoodhogan Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 Ivanovic, was in the team of the year last year and hasn't done anything to suggest he shouldn't be. I really don't rate Bosingwa that highly sure going forward he's fantastic but defensivley he's poor.
PloKoon13 Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 They're both very good, but I think we should judge game-to-game whose particular expertise would be best suited against any given side. Carlo's got a rotation policy anyway, so in theory this decision can carry on being avoided.
Blue Steel Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 Bosingwa for me, brings so much more variety to our attacking play and is very good at unlocking tight defences. Cannot see why some think he's weak defensively as I usually think he's very solid. Saying that, Ivanovic should be a first choice centre back.
Bobbywoodhogan Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 Saying that, Ivanovic should be a first choice centre back. Instead of who?
Blue Steel Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 Instead of who? Alex, its marginal but I think Ivanovic is slightly better and forms a better partnership with Terry.
BlueBeard Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 Got to be Bosingwa, it's his natural position. Ivanovic is more versatile, being able to play equally well at CB. Obviously there'd have to be rotation between Ivanovic, Alex & JT, which could be a good thing. Why have you got Ferreira in the reckoning? I wouldn't even play him in the reserves!
The Moos Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 Bosingwa for me as well. Ivan has done really well there, but it's not his natural position.
Maksimov Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 Why have you got Ferreira in the reckoning? I wouldn't even play him in the reserves! Ferreira has played more this season than Bosingwa and he's a natural right back, so I don't see why he wouldn't be an option in a poll like this. I wouldn't vote for him, mind you, but he's still one of our right backs.
Bobbywoodhogan Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 I don't get the Paulo hate he's great back up, has played really well when called upon this season and filled in admirably at the back end of last season.
BlueBeard Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 I don't get the Paulo hate he's great back up, has played really well when called upon this season and filled in admirably at the back end of last season. It's all about opinions. Mine is, Ferreira hasn't played well for about three years and has proven to be a liability time and time again. Still, each to their own!
ABDERRAHMANE Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 (edited) you know that bosingwa his speciality is right back, he is good Offensive and not good Defensive and Ivanovic his speciality is certral back and he could play in right back that's why he is good Defensive when played as right back and not bad in Offensive but i prefer bosingwa to play as right back instead Ivanovic cause Iva is sub of Alex and Terry. ABDERRAHMANE Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 nobody voted for Paulo Ferreira i just wonder why ? cause he is bad player ? cause he is parmenet sub for right back and maybe left back ?
Guest Sindre Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 nobody voted for Paulo Ferreira i just wonder why ? cause he is bad player ? cause he is parmenet sub for right back and maybe left back ? Because he ovbiously is miles behind both Ivanovic and Bosingwa in terms of quality. I would pick Bosingwa at right-back and then pair Ivanovic together with Terry in the middle. Alex has been great aswell, and it`s a bit of a luxury problem but i prefer Branislav.
Chippy Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 I voted for Paulo, Luckily it won't mean he will get picked ahead of the two others in the poll but it does say for me that he is the best third choice RB or emergency CB you could wish for. I've got nothing but respect for the bloke and he was a big part in the clubs mean defence under that bloke that manages Madrid. In all seriousness I think Plokkon has got it spot on, there will be rotation and maybe Carlo will find Horses for Courses, games where we need the speed on the wing he could be favouring Bos and games where we are under the cosh a bit down the left or we need some more ariel ability he might favour Ivan.
SydneyChelsea Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 It's all about opinions. Mine is correct
sals Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 I voted for ivanovic, bossy is a fantastic player but Ivan has made the position his own during his injury layoff and its up to bossy to earn his spot back in the side.
Tim W Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 Squad game lads - horses for courses - either Ivan or Bosy depending on current form and opposition with Paulo shinning boots waiting to fill the gaps
bjd Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 Vote Paulo! A great guy, loyal and very under-rated too. After a terrific first season he was pissed around a bit and easily couldve walked but stayed and I'm so glad he did. The ultimate confidence player the more consistent amount of games he has the more solid he becomes. Was great to see him as captain on Wednesday - richly deserved. 3 more league medals than Gerrard and Fabregas too!
gee Posted November 7, 2010 Author Posted November 7, 2010 It's got to be Bosingwa. He adds a balance to our team with Ashley on the other flank.
Alex Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 Definatley bos. He adds an attacking threat down the right that we have on the left. Being able to attack on both flanks is a massive bonus. I love IVan and would move him into the middle with JT. He has done exceptionally at right back but Bos is better i think.
