dkw Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 Squad in full Ben Foster, Robert Green, Joe Hart; Ashley Cole, Rio Ferdinand, Kieran Gibbs, Phil Jagielka, Joleon Lescott, Micah Richards, Chris Smalling, John Terry; Gareth Barry, Steven Gerrard, Jordan Henderson, Adam Johnson, James Milner, Theo Walcott, Jack Wilshere, Ashley Young; Gabriel Agbonlahor, Jay Bothroyd, Andy Carroll, Peter Crouch. That attack is absolutely atrocious.
Alex Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 would like to see johnson and young start the game. i doubt the front line will put much fear in the french though. Lets hope ash n jt avoid any injuries
BlueBeard Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 Rio Ferdinand - totally lacking fitness Chris Smalling - why??? Peter Crouch - again, why??? Looks like Capello is getting desperate to me
Spiller86 Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 He seems to be currying favour big time. Suprised Davies didn't get a gig he tore Spurs apart last week while Crouch did nothing at the other end. Carroll might do well even if he is a total twat. Some odd choices in defence as well, Gibbs and Smalling? Seems you don't have to actually be playing consistently to get a gig these days, just play for a club with a lot of fans to appease. That squad would have to be one of the weakest England have picked in a long time. I suppose the consolation is that none of those players will actually a lot of time.
Tea Bar Boy Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 As Terry and Cole have pulled out this is the first England squad I can recall for a long time with no Chelsea players in it ?
forbzy Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 As Terry and Cole have pulled out this is the first England squad I can recall for a long time with no Chelsea players in it ? At least we can't be blamed for the performance. Although no doubt the press will try to find a way...
Andreas Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 Malouda ripping ferdinand to pieces, loving it.
TheWestwayWonder Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 Rio Ferdinand - totally lacking fitness Chris Smalling - why??? Peter Crouch - again, why??? Looks like Capello is getting desperate to me I think the emperor has no clothes and the mystiqe of "Cap" is well and truly gone. After he was powerless to do anything in South Africa, he showed he bends to media pressure, and now he is in the middle of this half assed rebuilding project.
Peckham Blue Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 Quite funny to hear all the England fans from Slagsville Hotspur booing him at the end, he had a great game.
Hutch Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 Well there may have been no Chelsea players in last night's England squad, but Malouda of course was playing against England, and we had several other players involved in various other games. From the official site, here's a rundown of how they got on: INTERNATIONALS: MIXED NIGHT FOR BLUES Petr Cech continued his outstanding season by saving a penalty and keeping a clean sheet in Czech Republic's 0-0 draw away to Denmark. The spot-kick stop came as early as the 18th minute in what was a friendly international, as were all the games involving Chelsea players on Wednesday evening. At Wembley, an England side devoid of any Chelsea names was distinctly second best to France. Florent Malouda was one of the most experienced players on the pitch and supplied the pass for Karim Benzema to make it 1-0 in the first half. England eventually lost 2-1 with the home side's goal coming after Malouda's influential showing had ended with a 76th minute substitution. Jose Bosingwa played the full game as Portugal recorded a notable victory in the 'Iberian derby', beating World Cup winners Spain 4-0 in Lisbon. Serbia beat Bulgaria 1-0 thanks to a goal 10 minutes from time from Nikola Zigic who was later sent off and is likely to face Chelsea for Birmingham this weekend. Branislav Ivanovic played the full game. Ramires was in midfield for the Brazil side that took on Argentina in Qatar and was sunk by a late Lionel Messi goal. Yury Zhirkov had a less enjoyable time in Moscow's Luzhniki Stadium than his visit last month with Chelsea. Russia lost 2-0 to Belgium, Romelu Lukaku scoring both goals. Jeffrey Bruma and Patrick van Aanholt both played the full game as Netherlands Under 21s won 3-1 away in Denmark. Fabio Borini was a half-time substitute in Italy Under 21s 2-1 home win over Turkey, the score 1-0 at the break. LINK
dkw Posted November 18, 2010 Author Posted November 18, 2010 Well England were utter dog sh*t then, and France were very impressive. Once again Terry was poor at the back, so overrated and Gerrard was invisible, but that ws because he was made to play out of position to accommodate Lampard.... oh hang on, they werent playing so who can we blame and boo now? England fans are such a pathetic bunch of w**kers.
The Moos Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 I read today that Capello had promised that Gerrard would only play for 60 minutes, but he kept him on until the 85th minute when Gerrard went off injured and will now probably miss a few games for Liverpool. Even though it's just Gerrard and it means bad news for Liverpool I still have to say that it was a sh*tty thing to do by Capello. A promise is a promise. It's lack of respect. I know that if it had been Lampard this thread would have like 20 pages ripping Capello to shreds.
Hutch Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 It's Steven Gerrard. Who cares. The BBC are saying he'll be out for the next 3 -4 weeks, by the way.
chelseabootboy Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 It's Steven Gerrard. Who cares. The BBC are saying he'll be out for the next 3 -4 weeks, by the way. 3-4 weeks that will do nicely nicley
Scooby Blue Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 I had to laugh at the ITV pundits (if you can call them that, Danny Murphy ffs) as they w**ked there load of Gerrard. That twat Chiles actually said something along the lines of "England's man of the match and isn't he always". Ok let's be fair he played one decent cross field ball of note and got stuck in with some good fair tackles. However he ran straight into the french defence on a number of occasions, didn't play any great balls of note forward and should've scored at least once if not twice but failed. Yeah clearly England's best player, or the way they go on, England's only player. I'm just waiting for a journo to come out and say that England would've won had the Chelsea trio not feigned injury.
