Apparently the Sd's have made contact with Marco Palestra [21] RB - - -RWB from Cagliari for the humble price of 50 million Euros. Wish the Directors luck as they negotiate the price up for a player valued around 30 million Euros.

Italians not being at the World cup are easier to negotiate with at this point in time.

Why do you think that. He showed last season hes ot that far off being ready now, he was superb in our later games.

Couldn’t disagree more

It's the same stance I had with Acheampong last summer. It's a gamble.

Many were completely fine not wanting a new CB after Colwill tore his ACL,and felt Acheampong was ready to be starting. I specifically remember debating @GarnachoCheese who was convinced our defence was fine, and I even told him to bookmark this as we will truly see how awful our defence is without Colwill. Lord and behold, we saw how pathetic our defence was.

If memory serves, Hato's best performances came LCB. I don't recall seeing him having a long stint at LB or enough of a sample size to determine how well he'd even do and if he's ready to be starting 38 games a season.

I had the same position on Josh as well as Colwill. I'd also not be surprised if Colwill isn't quite himself next season given the injury—VDK wasn't. Hato is 5'11" which is fine in a possession system like City uses—would that fit Alonso's style in a 3 atb? (asking dunno how Alonso sets up his teams)

Maybe I'm the only one freaking out here, but I thought the squad was already pretty thin before letting go of starters. 😓

I'm astonished he went for this much. He made a metric f**kton of errors in the tail end of the season.

The second half of that tweet is all you need to know, it's a PSR swap deal.

Brighton get to book 52m for this FY which they are struggling in, and will pay 30-40m for Vuskovic which leaves van Hecke at a net cost of 10-20m. Plus they get to amortise Vuskovic's fee.

To be absolutely fair, Acheampong should have been starting but wasn't getting picked.

Didn’t matter who played. Defence was sh*t. Granted, I’d of rather see Acheampong make mistakes in the hope he’d learn vs the lost causes that are Fofana, Tosin, etc.

The problem is that the axe threshold is far far lower with a youngster than an established player. Sarr comes in and makes on howler, never to be seen again. Fofana meanwhile is out there getting stupidly red carded and smiling about it.

Apparently it is all quiet on the Chelsea front for now because we are going all in for Morgan Rogers, but things are very complicated and he needs a lot of convincing to come here.

Real Madrid will definitely not pay 120M for Enzo Fernandez, but I am sure they could do something in the region of 90-95M, plus bonuses. I would take that and throw it at Rogers, even add an extra 10-15M, but it will all come down to him and my honest opinion is he'd choose others over us. We need a solid season with Xabi Alonso before we will be able to attract this kind of players.

That is a big problem for us. We are not much of an attraction now are we. It’s not even like last season was an unexpected blip. It will take an impressive season and Champions League qualification before we can start to attract the better players again. It’s not even like we’re offering Saudi like wages either. Hopefully all these young lads we transferring in from our French branch will be good enough to put us back in the top four….

Spot on. Definitely need to go back to CL football next season. We are either a season away from steadying the ship and build from that, or a season away from having the likes of Palmer, Caicedo and Joao Pedro ask for a way out as the project they were promised has come to a conclusion (failure). I have no doubt about that. And I would not be sure James would stay any longer, either. 100% he would not leave for another English club, but if Paris, Bayern or the Spanish clubs would make an offer, he'd ask Chelsea to find a way to leave him play his best years elsewhere.

On a financial and squad building perspective, wouldn't Ndiaye make more sense?

Saw we were linked the other day.

I like Ndiaye, the left side still being so bad after all this money spent has to be some sort of record.

Can’t take him serious. We looked a car crash last season, he took the money and was doing PR for BlueCo. I don’t think he will be a consideration for a top European club with his injury record and wages.
