I actually see Rogers as the perfect player for Alonso's main formation. If he goes three at the back with pacy wingbacks like Quenda and Gittens (i just have a feeling that he might try to create a Frimpong out of Gittens). Caicedo and the CM midfielder he wants, then both Palmer and Rogers could reside in their respective half spaces with JP up top. It has got pace and overloads throughout with genuine quality. Will they do it. Will they fck. Can they afford it, can they fck.

For a sell to buy club let's wait and see if they are capable of selling anyone in this window first to fund all of these grand plans and PR briefings

This is my concern, if we adopt a sell to buy policy then we could miss out on any targets we realistically could have attracted.

Convincing players to come to a club without any European football is one thing but convincing them to wait until we sell a player to get the funds is something else.

Unless we buy first and sell later I’m struggling to see how we can attract any top players this summer.

My bigger concern atm is that all i hear is content creators and tv pundits talking about who is going to be leaving as well as PR briefings by the Twattarati with some ridiculous numbers.

Would we really be genuinely surprised if we get to the last two weeks and we have sold George and Chalobah on the cheap ( pure profit) got half a dozen kids out on mediocre loans and are still haggling over an ultimately fruitless and unsuccessful sale of Fernandez.

Think we all need to take a step back and come to terms with some things. The World Cup is going to delay a lot of activity, and Alonso (based on briefings) is going to have a say on the squad, who stays/goes.

We aren't going to see major movement until mid/late July I reckon.

Vuskovic is a prime example. Croatia’s starting CB at just 19, bought by Spurs last season for £10m, loaned to Hamburg. De Zerbi is trying to buy Van Hecke from Brighton, who have smartly bid £30m for Vuskovic as a direct replacement, which is well under his £50m market value.

He is a £80m+ player in the next 2 seasons with regular game time, and would be surprised if Liverpool don’t throw in a bid as a replacement for Konate.

Bouaddi looks a great midfielder. Imagine him next to Caicedo. Looks Arsenal bound

The sale of Enzo is going to be key in this, at this stage he has to go but for how much. Could involve other players in the deal plus unlock some cash.

At this stage I hope he goes I really don’t want him here half hearted with pressure to play him and all that crap again.

It needs to be a new start under Alonso.

Not sure he solves any problems for us, but our owners will still try. They tried signing him last January, he said No. Don’t think we are an attractive destination this summer.

Interesting shout about Gittens, the little I've seen him I've thought he might make a decent, attcking wingback. Generally seems to be a consencus out there that he can't though, so who knows.

Have we ever bought a player from Man U that's worked out? Veron, Falaco? Now we're signing their rejects and they are the worst Utd team in many years. Stay clear they don't sell their best players.

Spurs are the only club that’s signing anyone and that’s mainly free transfers. With deals already agreed we’ve already signed more players than any other PL team this window. World Cup windows always have the majority of the deals concluded post-tournament.

Internal deals or previously done blue co deals, spurs just signed van hecke who’s at the tournament most of the players we want to sell ain’t so there should be no reason these deals can’t be happening unless nobody is interested in our fringe players at the prices or the wages being quoted.

There are plenty of deals going through RM have signed a few. We were able to sell Cuca cos there was an interested buyer WC or no WC.

Because some genius who recently got a 60% pay raise and in no shape, or form at risk in losing their job thought it was a great idea to give Tosin and co £100-120kpw.

Probably waiting for financial year to end this June, and able to make signings come July. The Cucurella sale gets booked to 2025-26 though, which helps.

That, plus waiting on Alonso to officially start. The silence doesn’t mean they aren’t organizing items.

It’s a very good point about the timing of the deals and which years accounts you want them on probably being the reason I really hope so but I’ve sat through transfer window after window waiting for the first team signings that never happened.

Let’s not sit and tell ourselves Alonso can’t talk to them before July 1st or that deals won’t be done until after the World Cup because neither are true.

It’s very early doors I know but shouldn’t those 5 twats be announcing some loans or sales and just like I don’t count the 4 already done deals we’re bringing in selling Cuca our first choice left back was easy to do and has once again weakened the first team so no credit for that at this moment.

Our directors move slower than last seasons football. And there’s 5 of them, this is such a huge window I was hoping to see things moving straight away like other clubs.

Theres nothing to say we havent already made signings, things are sorted and agreements made, only we choose not to finalise/announce them until July 1st with the new manager in etc.

Signings and announcements dont all happen in one day, weve found several times in the past that the announcement has been made days, even weeks after its all agreed.
