March 14, 20224 yr Just now, erskblue said: Good question!😀 Right lads, get on the bus, we're off to Wales. Pick up your packed lunch from the canteen and we'll stop at a half-way house for a pint and a sandwich. You'' love the bracing air there and the quaint local customs. They'd be demanding a transfer before you could say Jack Robinson. I know our lot would.
March 14, 20224 yr Posted this picture before. 1983 Pre Season Training Session at Abersystwyth. King Kerry Dixon wrote: “Like an idiot, I charged into the first circuit around a sand dune while John Neal stood by, stopwatch in hand. “As soon as I stopped running my legs began to wobble and seize up. I collapsed in an untidy heap in the sand. “After a too-short breather I had to pick up a baton and charge up a sand dune that slithered away under my feet. “I somehow reached the summit, clawing at the sand, desperately fighting for some kind of hold.“ “My head was spinning, my lungs were a bursting point and my legs were completely without feeling. “I collapsed into a pathetic heap once more, fighting an overwhelming feeling of nausea. “I honestly thought I was going to die. All of the lads were pointing at me and laughing hysterically.”

No debating it😀 Edited March 14, 20224 yr by erskblue

The sensible family men types such as him, Bonetti, Harris, Houseman tended to lack sideburns and have fairly conventional hair, whilst the younger, wilder Kings Road pisshead players attitude shone through, by means of longer tousled hair and proper meaty sideboards I'd say as a general rule.
March 17, 20224 yr Just posting this to highlight pun intended when you see the clip how good the pitch was pre East Stand.
March 18, 20224 yr Against City 1986 only 12,000 at the game our attendances that season are really bad I just looked it up not a single game over 30,000 although a couple close. But it wasn't just us 25,000 at Anfield, 33,000 at OT and 32,000 at Highbury which for all three is more or less half empty stadiums.
