Read about it regarding the movement of it when people were in it! Loved to of seen how it reacted to a rendition of one man went to mow!!

It's quite ironic that on this page we have this a crumbling eyesore of a stand and just above it a picture of the East Stand which despite all the problems it caused was probably the most modern stand of it's day. I went to my first game late 74 couple in 75 and it's that long ago I can't remember if it was there think it got knocked down in 75.

December 10, 20223 yr Open day reserves vs first team Robert Issac and pretty sure that's Fillery also in the picture John Neal, Keith Jones and looks like Colin Pates doing the campest looking ever pose on a football pitch .😆

I for one would not have wasted time or money to watch him play for the stiffs.

There is one, Crayford, which is not far from where I live but that's more North-west Kent than South-east London. Not sure how many people go to the track.

All gone now Been to a few never made White City although a few mates of mine worked there on Saturday's in the kitchen when they were at school. Been to Catford, Wimbledon, Walthamstow which was good on a Monday in the late 90's free to get in and a £1 a pint. Went to Wembley good few times as it was only round the corner although was really weird in a massive empty stadium with maybe between 75/ 100 people there. Without Googling can only think of Hackney that I haven't mentioned. : Edit just Googled forgot about Harringay all the others were before most of our time I would say 😁 Edited December 13, 20223 yr by bluehaze

Walthamstow had a nightclub bolted on called Charlie Chan's full of orange birds and Mike Read lookalikes wearing lemon slacks and chunky gold. Hackney Wick was a decent set up after they developed it but they went skint shortly after. Worked with a old bloke who'd be long dead now who reckons he saw cheetah racing sometime just after the war at White City; bit of a farce by all accounts, rather than pelt after the hare they just lolloped around disinterested. I also had a great uncle whose claim to fame was chucking a heavy coat over the winning dog at Wandsworth to get the race abandoned.. The Arndale/ Southside Shopping Centre stands on the site now...
December 13, 20223 yr At Southampton, September 1966. A young Ossie. A sign for the famous or should that be infamous Watney's Red Barrell. One of the worst beers ever made.
